The best Chinese we've been to, AMAZING salt

I went There First time Last week. Well the first experience was so horrible wont go there again. Staff don't know anything about their food or restaurant, too much in rush to clear our table so that they can go back to their group to continue their incomplete chatting round. I asked for King prawn in red sauce with vege and they brought King prawn in horrible taste curry. They might thought I am with my Asian partner I am looking for Indian curry. Anyway, no good at all.

I had been away and back to Manchester, I happened to visit Cathay Dim Sum which was my usual dinning place. This time I had high expectation to see the people and the taste the food; unfortunately all those good thing about this restaurant had gone. I was there on a friday evening before Christmas the gentalman with tie & glasses just point me to the table which needed to tidy and was not even busy. Then later on when i left the restaurant the same person sat at the bar with a bottle of beer. This is a health & safety issue people who work within the licences premeses are not allow to drink alchol! This place going down man, all the friendly smile gone, service gone food? Just don't go, not worth it!!!!

Once again went there with my twins, wife, friends and their two children on Saturday the 21st of August, food was excellent, the staff could not do enough for my twins, My friends from London could not believe the service we had ,They said this would never happen in London, so once again thank you Cathay dim sum.

went on saturday 22nd may,once again with twins,disabled mother ,wife and my aunt.staff were excellent playing with my children,even cleaned the babies bowls for me,food excellent,all round a pleasant dinner,thank you

The food is always great here and the service is spot on. The only fault is the tables are a bit close together and the decor does'nt give you that oriental feel. But moaning aside its still one of the better restaurants in the trafford centre and I'm sure that we'll be back in the near future.

Once upon a time this was an excellent restaurant. Recently it has aquired a smoking section and the last time we visited they tried to seat us so near the next table that we could have shared our food. The Cathay Dim Sum needs to recapture their old ambiance.

The best restaurand in the Trafford Centre (and we have tried them all!!!) Everything runs smoothly on every visit. The staff are friendly but still efficient. The food if always excellent. Of course, one of the main things one notices on a visit to any restaurant is the cleanliness - at the Cathay Dim Sum this is always faultless. We would not bother visiting any of the other restaurants again. It is the 'Cathay' every time for us!
