Yialousa Greek Taverna is located on Woburn Place opposite University College and The Royal Hotel. Under new ownership, the double-fronted restaurant has some outside tables, a traditional, simple interior and serves superb-value classic Greek and Mediterranean food. Starters include Meze (smaller Tapas-style dishes) which are ideal for sharing; choose pittas and dips, stuffed vine leaves or peppers, calamari, meat balls. There is a huge selection covering meats, fresh fish and plenty of non-meat options. Main meals include all your favourites such as Stifado, slow cooked beef in red wine, tomatoes and onion, Kleftiko, very slowly cooked lamb on the bone with potatoes and herbs and one-pot dishes like Moussaka. Fresh fish is also a speciality with a choice of salmon, swordfish, king prawns and squid. A charcoal grill serves a variety of kebabs, Souvlaki (marinated pork) and lamb. Desserts include Baklava and there is proper Greek coffee.
Delicious food crosses all borders. The food at Yialousa Greek Taverna was sumptuous. We feasted on succulent mezes, moussaka and shish kebab. The manager and waitresses were very friendly--even the cook came out to greet us in his chef's hat! What fun we had at Yialousa Greek Taverna!

Several friends and I didn’t manage to go away on holiday so we threw a fabulously successful party at Yialousa Greek Taverna to mark the end of summer. There was excellent meat and poultry, delicious home fries and rice, perfectly cooked veg, and crispy salad with fresh ripe tomatoes. The Greek waitresses, background music and wall paintings of Greek views created the warm surrounding we needed to round up the season. I highly recommend going to Yialousa Greek Taverna as a group, because the food is supremely tasty and they know how to keep a party smiling.

My family and I were surprised to find such amazing Greek food in the heart of London! And I haven’t even said a word about the beautiful décor, which in itself merits a side-trip to see! The service was super friendly and attentive. Hats off Yialousa for bringing the best of Greece to our side of the world!

My family and I enjoyed a tasty and hearty meal in this beautifully decorated restaurant. Besides the assortment of mezes, dips and veggies, the children loved the murals, each one hand-crafted we were told. The music added an extra pinch of Greek flavour, but the cuisine had already more than satisfied us. Definitely highly recommend to all.

Yialousa’s Greek Taverna is a real oasis when me and my friends need a break from routine. The food is heavenly and the merry ambiance the Greek music and staff bring is the ticket for a great night out. Their beef cubes cooked in wine is just one of my favourite dishes. Me and my friends give Yialousa thumbs up for being second to none.

Amazing! Five Stars! The food here was so fresh, so tasty, so divinely cooked. My partner chose the Rainbow Trout cooked with finesse, me the Chicken Pilaf, marinated for tender, succulent flavour. It all went down really well with their well-chosen house wine. The staff were friendly and cheerful. Reminded me of my trip to Mykonos last year. Tah!

I have always admired how Greek food is seasoned, and I have to say Yialousa does this expertly. I recently spent an all-round fantastic evening dining there with a group of friends. The meat and vegetable dishes were fabulous, the wine top-notch, the servings very generous and the personnel very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

I have made a habit of going to Yialousa since transferring to London a month ago. The food and service are first-rate, and the ambience as well. I love being there, with colleagues or alone. The place gives off good vibes, and I have come up with more good ideas while sitting there eating their delicious, juicy and tender souvlaki than a whole afternoon at the office.

I was staying at the hotel right opposite the restaurant I was walking down the road and the restaurant caught my eye how flashy it was. It was about lunch time and i was really Hungary I went in and it was very welcoming I started ordering my drinks and they came very quickly I started ordering my meal and when they came I was shocked how fast it was. Everybody was very cheerful and nice I will highly recommend this restaurant.
