Visiting Manchester after a loooong time, I was with a group of girls & decided to eat at Zaika before watching Black Swan at the AMC. Wow u have got to try the chicken chili masala, blew my head off but what a dish !!! The girls had a mixture of starters & mains, absolutely no complaints from the group. It was out 1st visit as they are tucked away behind G-Mex, but I promise you it won't be our last.....

Visited Zaika on Thursday 27th Jan 2010 with the mrs & 2 little ones for my wife's birthday. Never mentioned the birthday but the staff realised & presented us with a cake ( which embarrassed the hell out of wife). Generally, the restaurant is clean, with a modern chic deco. The food was fantastic especially the Bengali Prawn with Monkfish, recommended by Manchester Evening News, City Life Magazine. Liz had aloo tikka to begin & lahori lamb chops with mushroom rice. kids shared a chooza makhani with a cheese naan. We will definitely be going back. Marks out of 10....9.5 for service. 10 for food & 10 for staff attentiveness.

Went for a birthday meal with 4 friends and initial thoughts were that the restaurant was elegant and well decorated. Some of the staff were friendly but the main courses clearly let the place down. 1 dish arrived a bit cold and the dishes were very bland and lacked flavour. Found some of the dishes were overpriced and then they added £10 service charge which was an insult. The likes of zouk, eastz east don't do this and they still remain no.1 in city centre Indian restaurants. Will not be visiting zaika again a real let down considering the high expectations it has earned itself.

A group of us ate @ Zaika on July 20th, we were at the Gmex for the Manchester Furniture Show. Wow my taste buds are still tickling !!!! I have passed my business card to the owner & I have literally begged him to open a branch of Zaika in DC. The tasting/banquet menu made our lives a lot easier, can u imagine 19 gents ordering individual starters & mains...:)) Nightmare... :)) We will be back in the New Year, WELL DONE ZAIKA, its just a shame you don't deliver to the States..

I visited Zaika a few weeks back but am writing this review belated. The environment, staff, setting, food were exceptional. Was greeted honourably and accommodated efficiently. Food and beverages were second to none and staff seem to be aware of brand values. Zaika 's really taken a turn for the better. It seem Nisar Khan, the ex manager from the closed Shimla pinks has brought flair and style to Zaika. I for one, am and will remain a regular. Well done!

dined @ zaika on Friday night with two friends, thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The tasting/banquet menu was flavoursome & plentiful. I had the fish tikka to start, followed by Bengali prawns... Service was relaxed but efficient unlike Akbars, toilets were spotless. Will defo return & will defo recommend

Fabulous! So much food! Excellent value! Service First Class! Lovely surroundings. Thank you - we had a wonderful time at your restaurant and our friends enjoyed their meal so much they booked again whilst at the restaurant! A special thankyou to Nisar who is so eager to please his customers. Regards and good luck to all at Zaika.

visited Zaika last night for my birthday. we were warmly greeted at the door and our cats were taken to be stored in a safe place. we were shown to the entrance lounge where we ere provided with menus and our drinks order taken the vegetarian range was limited but they were able to make dishes that were not on the menu at my request - which i think is a good sign at an eating establishment for starters we had veg samosas and paneer tikka - samosas were in the filo pastry type of pastry and was light and crispy and the paneer was a wonderful texture and really tasty our mains were also delicious - the tandoori roti was better than the plain naan- thinner and crispier great service, everything was well presented- the decor was great and there were several sections to the restaurant, whereby should you want to have private dining facilities or a small party then you could so - a first for Indian restaurants in Manchester All in all I had a very enjoyable meal to celebrate my birthday
Ronaldo
very nicely decorated.

If Akabars, East Z East and Zouk are the man utd, chelsea and arsenal of the Manchester Indian posh restaurant scene, then Zaika have a long way to go to gain a champions league position.Dont get me wrong they have spent a fortune on the deco and easily compares to the other three in ambiance, but the comparisons end there.I'll stick with my season tickets elsewhere.
