For my husband to be impressed by the food at any restaurant it has to be exceptional - he loves the food in Petra which says something!! We have recommended Petra to many friends who have all enjoyed the food, the service and the evening - All have returned again and again, as have we?!

The spicy hut continues to be the place to eat on the curry mile, we often try other places now and again, but always return to the Spicy Hut. The service is spot on and the food always good. Another point is that they don't skimp on the portions of rice etc. so you always leave "full as a house". David from Timperley

The food at the restaurant is pretty good but the attitude of the maitre d' is appalling.The rest of the staff were helpful. Food takes a long time to come. Even the starters!?!.

we visit here very often and the staff, food and atmosphere are 1st class. my children are welcome and love going down to see the staff who over the years have become family friends. nothing is ever too much of a problem to the staff and there is always something different to try on the menu.

i was there on Wednesday evening and there was hardly any table in the restaurant i was served with poppadoms as i sit there but after waiters sat down in the end and near the window and start chatting with themselves after a guy came took my order and i got my food that was really great i never had that kinda curry in my life. Can? wait to go back again. they should improve there service because food is outstanding. Waiters should wear proper cloths, because three of them were there wearing different shirts and funny with checks.

We've been regulars for a couple of years - my kids even call Sayeed[sp?], "Grandad". Food is fantastic [TIP]Try the Lahori. You will not find a better curry in England! Service is excellent and always with a smile. Early £30's for four eating;- 2 sizzlers, 2 sauces, rice and chappatis/starters, Pops/dips and salad [the two kids sharing everything] including drinks. We went to the Punjab Tandoori after reading these reviews online and it lived up to expectations. We had keema dosa for starter and lamb kahari and chiken handi for main with the lightest naan we have ever tasted and beautifully flavoured pilau rice. The music was fantastic and the staff were really polite and courteous. The decor is a bit shabby but it really doesn't matter it adds to the ambience somehow. If you want authentic Indian food go here you won't be disappointed

Small and unassuming, this is undoubtedly the best restaurant on the Curry Mile. In addition to all the usual, it offers a variety of South Indian dishes that simply aren't to be found elsewhere in the City. The dosa's are very good indeed. Extremely good value for money.

The mango Lassi is the best. out of this world.

This is the best Indian restaurant on the Curry Mile. The food is top-quality, the service is responsive and respectful, and the atmosphere is buzzing on the weekends.

The staff were very attentive, the food was lovely I went with a group of friends who had never had indian food and they were very impressed.

We try to visit every 5 weeks as we live in Wigan the staff always make us welcome and never forget a face we just love the food and specially the lamb chops starters they are brill we only go to the spicy hut now and we have tried a lot of Indian restaurants in the area it is simply the best see you all in 3 weeks Kathy and Malc if you go ask for the special

i have been using curry miles for many years. and come across the Sugarvine site and decided to try the Spicy Hut restaurant .it was truly amazing. the best curry i ever had. we started with mixed tandoori, which was fantastic. I tried chicken masti and my partner had chicken handi for main course. i found they were both truly award winners. service is too friendly and impressive. we have finally found a regular place to dine.

just one word F A B U L O U S

I love this place, having eaten here on a few occasions since first being taken to it about 10 years ago. The vegetarian range is very big and the food is astonishing, perhaps even the best Indian food I've had outside India! The staff are very knowledgeable (advising what compliments what) and take an interest in their customers. I only went last night and I'm looking forward to going again!
