Amber Regent – GlasgowThe place is beautiful and the food gorgeous! I was so impressed with the decor. Apparently it was originally an old picture house that has been converted. The service was slightly slow but don? let that put you off. It is well worth a visit.
Tusk – GlasgowGreat place to eat when in Edinburgh, the food and service were both great. We tried another 4 Italian restaurants in Edinburgh the week we were there and la Piazza we could not fault which is more than I can say about the other 4 Italians we went to, a truly great dining experience.
La Piazza – EdinburghThis is a very busy take away and meals are turned around quickly...you never need wait too long. The food is extremely tasty and leaves you planning your next visit. I highly recommend the Wing Wah on Tollcross Road.
Wing Wah – GlasgowMy fiancé and I had a wonderful evening at the Plumed Horse on the 3rd of January. We were greeted by a very friendly ma?e d' that allowed us to pick our table. It was Wednesday night so rather quiet. I started with a cheese soufflé that well exceeded my expectations. It was so light and full of flavour I would have gladly had another straight after. My partner started with the fish soup, which at £14 a bowl I was dubious about. However, when it arrived it looked and smelled excellent. After Karen tasted it I asked for a wee taste and was told 'no chance' - which is surely a good thing. I cannot remember what Karen had for her main course but I had the roast rib of beef which came cooked perfectly. For my dessert I had the bread and butter pudding with Pedro Ximenez ice cream which was absolutely to die for. The service was fantastic. Attentive without being obtrusive and just the perfect level of formality that suited us best, We can't wait to dine at the Plumed Horse again and have in fact already re-booked. I would thoroughly recommend dinning there to anyone that truly wants to experience quality cuisine.
Plumed Horse – EdinburghWe walked past Charcoals with the intention of going to another restaurant, simply because from the street Charcoals looks like a takeaway, and the other place looked a bit plusher. Our disappointment at the other restaurant just closing when we arrived was more than made up for by our visit to Charcoals. At the back of the shop is a very nice restaurant area which is not immediately visible from the street. Clean, comfortable, - a very pleasant place to be. The staff are very friendly, and were prepared to vary the menu for me (being vegetarian). But most importantly, the food is fantastic. My wife and myself both had Bhuna - one chicken and one made with Paneer (not on the menu), accompanied by Paswari nan and mushroom rice. My wife was the first to say that it's the best Indian meal she has ever had (just as I was going to say the same). And we have previously lived in Leicester - one of Britain's curry capitals. The Bhuna was perfect and the chicken and paneer were top quality and in generous proportion. The rice and nan were equally as good - the fruit flavours in the nan were wonderful. I would highly recommend Charcoals to any fan of Indian food visiting Glasgow. Don't be put off my it's takeaway appearance. We give Charcoals ten out of ten - and we'll certainly be returning whenever we can.

Lovely, excellent don? know what to say all areas 10/10.Only downside the music, Indian restaurant should have Indian music not jazz!!!!!!!!!!!
Balbirs Restaurant – GlasgowWell, what can one say....... a fantastic place to strut my little butt and wiggle my jiggle to some cheesy mexican "sombrero" music. I enjoyed the ambiance of ralph lauren shirts, pink pashminas and jolly old chaps.....at one with oneself.......no!!!!
Garibaldis – EdinburghWe ate here when staying for one night in Glasgow and fancied something different, and something different we got. The staff are amazingly attentive and very friendly to anything you need, the food was outstanding, personally I enjoyed to my detriment of being too full to move, the Mezes which is a mixed starter and main. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her Slovaki to start and giovetsi for a main. We weren't rushed at any point even though we ended up leaving last as it was so relaxing and authentic! Deffo recommend to anyone visiting the area and also their Deli from which they sell various food for you to take home and make yourself!

Paperinos – GlasgowCame here with 10 year old son after failing to find the Thistle St Sushi place. Enjoyable sushi, not that we are experts. The cones made from seaweed were a bit tough for our liking but the sushi with less seaweed was good and the fish fresh and tender. I enjoyed the green tea and red bean ice creams, my son was less keen. He liked watching the chef and the Japanese TV. The noodle based main courses looked good.
Sushiya – EdinburghI'm surprised to be the first to rave about this restaurant. I can only think that as it is placed in a posh food court that it misses out on reviews. I have eaten here twice and not been disappointed with the wonderful fresh food, authentic Italian service and ambience - the restaurant has two areas for eating, inside and outside on the Princes Square terracing. Especially recommended is around Christmas period when you look over the giant Christmas tree and choirs singing below, all adding to the taste of Christmas. If, like me, you feel Christmas is superficial, then try an evening, after Christmas shopping, to plonk your bum in Zizzi's and sample the pizza and pino grigio. Their salad dressing is freshly made and recommended. The cost of a simple meal is average - a couple of glasses of wine, bottle of water, pizza, bolognaise and salad £28 for two. Buon Appetite.
Zizzi – GlasgowThe food and service were well above average. However, the restaurant is most interesting as it occupies three rooms which have been converted from an early seventeenth century boot and shoemaker's shop, workshop and residence. It was once owned by the father of the artist, David Roberts and is where he was born.
