This is as good as it gets; we have yet to be disappointed. Last Friday the starter of hot smoked salmon with an intense gazpacho coulis and the pud of coconut, mango & lemon terrine were both sensational
Number Sixteen – Glasgow

Number Sixteen – GlasgowDelicious food! Very well looked after by the staff. Satay skewers and pad Thai was extremely tasty. Fish cakes were tops as well. Highly recommend this restaurant, as have dined in over 50 Thai restaurants over the world and found this superb. Erin, from Australia
Thai Lemon Grass Restaurant – GlasgowNot the fanciest looking' place in town; although the atmosphere's good here, the food is superb and nicely priced. Can be pretty damn busy at times. Some people are scared-off because they're useless with chopsticks, but if you're one, don't be afraid to ask for a fork, it's cool.
Ichiban Noodle Cafe – GlasgowI come to this restaurant a lot I have never been in a place that made me feel so welcome, the staff are great the food is brilliant!!! You must try it for yourself! Now the Delhi Darbar is the only place I recommend to friends and family!
Delhi Darbar – GlasgowGood home cooked pub grub, served by friendly bar staff. Prices good and portions too. No complaints whatsoever. For a light bite or something bigger worth a visit. (nice garden and inside surroundings as well.)
Stewartsbar & Grill – EdinburghGood home cooked pub grub, served by friendly bar staff. Prices good and portions too. No complaints whatsoever. For a light bite or something bigger worth a visit. (nice garden and inside surroundings as well.)
Stewartsbar & Grill – EdinburghHaving read two very favourable reviews recently, one in the Metro and the other in the Glasgow Herald we decided to venture off to The Kitchin and test the food for ourselves. It was a lovely, mid week summer evening and as we parked the car in the large car park by the restaurant we could see a few tables outside with guests enjoying a drink. We sat at one of the remaining tables and were quickly welcomed by a very pleasant waitress who took our drinks order and asked if we were dining. The menu looked excellent I chose hand dived scallops followed by lamb, my wife had Tartare of mackerel with quail egg and Crispy fillets of red mullet with fine ratatouille of vegetables and we both had to confess the flavour and presentation of everything surpassed anything we have experiences anywhere in Europe including several 3 Michelin star restaurants. This is a real chef's kitchen, fantastic food, superb atmosphere and delightful yet very professional service. Edinburgh is the richer for this addition and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending 'the kitchin' to anyone.
The Kitchin – EdinburghWent for pre-theatre, Mum's 85th birthday Excellent Value and warm service. Staff also took mum's photograph and framed it there and then. Mum delighted
L Aragosta – GlasgowVery crowded, fab place though and lovely food.
Number Sixteen – GlasgowWent to Cafe Rouge whilst in Edinburgh on a friends hen party and have to say - it was excellent! The food was great (I definitely recommend the lamb), the service was excellent & the French ambience was spot on. It's also in a great location just off George Street.
Cafe Rouge – EdinburghA foody friend recommended The Kitchin so we went for lunch last week. The staff were really good, friendly and attentive without being intrusive and obviously knew their stuff about both food and wine without being superior about it. The food was frankly fantastic. I had chilled tomato soup with basil sorbet which was perfect but the halibut that followed was far and away the best bit of fish I have ever eaten, in fact probably the best thing I have ever eaten. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Kitchin, fantastic food, great atmosphere (love the wine cabinets) and staff. A very welcome addition to Edinburgh's top restaurants.
The Kitchin – EdinburghAs an infrequent visitor "home" to Glasgow, I've enjoyed several visits to this lovely little pub/restaurant. The menu is varied with a nice selection of Scottish fare, well prepared and presented. A friendly welcome also makes me feel at home. It's a short drive from the city but the scenery en-route and around the restaurant is in my opinion, wonderful. I recommend a visit.
Beech Tree Inn The – GlasgowThe Best Indian Food we ever had.
Verandah – EdinburghLate at the Dome when I stayed in Edinburgh 2 years ago. It is undoubtedly the best restaurant I have been in. The food was delicious, well-presented and there was nothing that wasn't excellent. Service was excellent and there was a cocktail bar where we had a few very nice cocktails. I plan to go to Edinburgh in November this year for Christmas shopping and I will definitely be dining in the Dome.
The Dome – EdinburghI ate in the buttery for the first time a year ago and was absolutely blown away by both the food and the service. I have been back twice since and let me tell you, if I could afford it I? eat there every week!! I? recommend it to anyone, especially for a special occasion.
Buttery The – GlasgowWe certainly had good food, had lovely starter but my beef was distinctly average, especially at nearly £25! Probably being slightly unfair regarding the ambience as it was a quiet Thursday night but the restaurant felt rather cold, lacked character. The service was very good though, and I will probably visit again in the hope that it was an off night!
Brian Maule Restaurant – GlasgowA fine family run pub/restaurant in the heart of historic East Lothian. Fantastic walking country and always a warm welcome in the Inn. Weekends can be busy but the quality is always the same. One of the few remaining family run Inns. The last Inn before you reach the Scottish Borders towards Duns. A great sponsor of the East Lothian Robert Burns Connection.
Garvald Inn The – EdinburghIt? a must!! The best in the city I have been to!!
