Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeWe had the most awful experience at Steak & Cherry, sauchiehall street yesterday. Having pre-booked our table prior to going to the theatre, we arrived at the restaurant at 11.50 to be met with a locked door and no lights on inside the bar. The opening times on the front state 12pm daily. We waited along with another 2 groups of patrons until 12.10 when we politely knocked on the restaurant door. A man popped his head out of the door and said “yes?” Clearly perplexed as to why we were knocking. We explained that we had all booked for 12pm to which he replied “we don’t open until 12.30.” No apology for the mix up. His attitude from there on was nothing short of rude and obnoxious, he did not accommodate any of us. I began to ask him a question and he stopped me by putting a hand up and saying “I will deal with you once I have sorted the people in front of you.” When in actual fact my party had been waiting the longest amount of time. The entire experience was appalling and I will never book this restaurant again. Which is a real shame as I’ve eaten here before and found every member of staff friendly and helpful. The gentleman from yesterday should not be working with the general public.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowGreat atmosphere Friendly staff wonderful food. What more can you want
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeHad a lovely lunch at Crumb. Food and service were both great. It’s a lovely family run restaurant with a friendly atmosphere.
Crumb – DumfriesWas given a table right in front of the entry and when requested a different table for two was told there were none available even though several tables in the restaurant remained empty through the entirety of our dining experience. Food was fine but not something I would recommend. Service was not great, nobody came to check on us and had to wait to make requests including for the check. Had ice cream for dessert and it was served in a warm (seemingly right out of the dishwasher) glass sundae dish so it was mostly melted by the time it was delivered to the table. Training could benefit this establishment and also maybe a little common sense.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingWe have dined at the Steak & Cherry many times and the food, and the service has been excellent. Good luck to all the staff for the future in securing new roles, so sorry you are closing.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowSuperb. Food, staff and atmosphere are unrivalled. An absolute must.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeExcellent food, atmosphere and views. We visited twice, and would love to return. We won't though as Tobermory is the most unwelcoming location we have ever been to.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeGreat breakfast, great service, look forward to returning next time we visit Stonehaven.
Cafe Neuk – AberdeenThe seafood platter is TOP.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeThe staff at Ravelston House Hotel are always friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The food is delicious, and good value.
Ravelston House – EdinburghExceptionally fresh, superbly cooked fish. Imaginative dishes as well as simple grilled fish and seafood. Signature platters are amazing. Great service from friendly team. Don’t go to Tobermory without visiting here.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeTea in Cronies at The Golden Lion Hotel; one of the last remaining civilised activities in Stirling and the greater area. Lovely traditional interiors, calm and placid atmosphere, wonderful high tea (personal choice) options and staff who are a credit to whomever recruited and trained them in the industry. Hospitality indeed! We booked online as it was a busy Friday evening. I opted for the Mac & smoked cheese, perfection. My friend went for the steak pie, it was the quietest he'd been all day, result! Traditionmal high-tea scones with jam and cream followed by wee petit four, sadly a step too far for us both, due to the Mac and Pie before. Must remember next time.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingLove this restaurant. Great fresh fish, mussels and oysters. Particularly enjoyed the chorizo crumbed Halibut dish. Staff are really friendly. Can’t wait to go again. We found it expensive so couldn’t go every night but would like to.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeOur meal was amazing, food delicious, service brilliant ,price really good ,very enjoyable as always see us back again soon
Ravelston House – EdinburghWell done Team Crumb! Our anniversary dinner last night was outstanding. We didn’t need 3 courses with the generous portions but it would have been rude not to have one. My new favourite, Cauliflower and Chickpea Malaysian Curry! The flavour combinations, wow! Sticky Toffee Carrot Cake is always sold out so I had to order it early. The friendliest, attentive staff and relaxing atmosphere make this our favourite place
Excellent food and service. Don’t be put off by the external appearance of the building.
