Excellent as always. Staff are brilliant in Crumb. Can't find anything to criticise. The food was gorgeous and service great. Still my favourite I. Dumfries.

Crumb – DumfriesStaff who served us were friendly & courteous. Background music was eventually switched on. Food was okay tastewise but quite expensive for what it was - starter of haggis bonbons, received 2 small haggis balls & 1 small cube potato with a little sauce for around £6.75 Steak pie wasn't really pie, stew with very thin slice of pastry, vegetables were very oily, this was over £13. I did send this information to the contact details online for attention of the manager but didn't get a reply.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWent last night for a meal and it was beautiful. Never been disappointed with the food there. Service from our waitress was amazing. She was very friendly and very hands on.
Ravelston House – EdinburghI was very pleasantly surprised ! Delicious and home cooked - a lovely choice and tasty tasty tasty!
Ravelston House – EdinburghExcellent meal for my mums birthday then a nice surprise with the live band!
Ravelston House – EdinburghVisited Crumb with friends for a meal. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Any questions we had about the dishes were answered quickly and clearly which helped us make our choices. From the Corndug and Garlic mushroom starters to the Stromboli and Haggis chicken main courses and finished off with cocktails and Not Key Line Pie, it was all delicious. Will definitely be back.
Crumb – DumfriesThe 3 of us enjoyed the haddock and chips which were well prepared and very tasty. We very much liked our time at the restaurant for my husband’s birthday.
Ravelston House – EdinburghHad booked a table and arrived 10 mins early (reservation at 5.45). Glad we did as we were told that "they had tried to contact us" to advise that they had a function taking place and, as the kitchen was busy, they wouldn't be taking orders from the restaurant until 6pm. I'm sorry but with a restaurant that had several tables of diners already patiently waiting we chose the option of leaving. Should have asked how they tried to contact me as they had my email/mobile and I had no texts/missed calls or emails. Won't be going back.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe had booked last minute in a Sunday for lunch not expecting to get a table. But wasn't a problem booking online. Food was really good much better than we expected. Everything was fresh and good portion sizes. Only thing I would say is the burger should come with a salad as well as chips because it looks a bit bare otherwise. Apart from that couldn't fault the food. Good menu choice too lots of delicious things. Staff were friendly and accommodating. There was a big group booking that had come in after we arrived but it wasn't too rowdy it added some nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and would go again :)
Ravelston House – EdinburghReturned for lunch on Tuesday for the first time since pre-covid days. Had the one course express meals which were all excellent, but disappointed that you couldn't now have two courses at an appropriate price, rather than an expensive dessert. Old people don't need big desserts. However, we asked for and were given children's ice creams. I seem to remember that you could choose 2 or three courses before at the express price which was ideal. The service was slower than I remember but the staff very pleasant.
Ravelston House – EdinburghHad a lovely meal, chose the steak pie which was cooked to perfection, good quality meat. Service was excellent waitress was very good, all staff friendly. Good atmosphere, you can hear yourself talk, highly recommend.
Ravelston House – EdinburghHad a lovely dining experience at Crumb food was delicious and reasonably priced for the portion you received. Tried 3 courses all were superb.
Crumb – DumfriesFirst time at Crumb with out of town friends. Will definitely be back, excellent evening thank you!
Crumb – DumfriesThe restaurant had a nice atmosphere, was clean and comfortable. Friday night, table booked for 6 30pm but and the cook had already run out of our choice meals, and the mojito. The cook (definitely not a chef) didn't inform his staff about his mistake, that he'd obviously miscalculated the food needed that night. The only hot vegetarian choices left we're chillie burgers, sausages or chickpea curry....which resembled a gravy/sauce with a few chickpeas. I opted for the disappointing haddock & chips, that practically slid off my plate along with its token salad garnish. The bar assistant and table waitresses were lovely. I felt really embarrassed for the waitress who had to keep coming back and tell me they'd run out of the meals I wanted. That night I felt really ill, so it affected my sleep. Unless this restaurant gets a chef I doubt we'll return.
Ravelston House – EdinburghMe and 5 friends had a meal on the 14th it was absolutely amazingly. We had the express menu everyones meal was pipping hot not one complaint And generous portions .
Ravelston House – EdinburghEnjoyable meal. Always find restaurant so noisy unfortunately. You can hardly hear yourself think with the noise from other diners sometimes. They could do with lining the walls to stop the sound travelling round the restaurant. Felt this time we were hurried out a bit too.
Crumb – DumfriesThe three main courses and starter were fine. The sundae (which I had) was not very good and negative comments were made by the others regarding the crumble topping. The service could have been a little better too. I had to go up to the bar to get someone to come and take the sweet order. I have been to the Ravelston twice before and on both occasions I feel that the food and the service were better.
