Beware of reheated chips at opening time ! Any other time food is excellent. Shame they do that to save waste. It kills a good name.

The Victor Fish Bar – DundeeAwesome hotel with a great restaurant. Enjoyed a wonderful break away there recently. Will return and hope to go NYE too.
Cameron House – GlasgowMy partner and I attending a family wedding at Cameron House. Stunning location on the shores of Loch Lomond. We stayed in one of their cabins that reside behind the main hotel. The restaurant was a great experience to and has top chef Martin Wishart at the helm. Loved the staff uniforms too, very Scottish with a contempory twist.
Cameron House – GlasgowI think the ‘Caley’ is probably my favourite of Edinburgh’s luxury five-star hotels. We had a relaxing lunch on New Year’s Eve in the atrium here and were lucky to get a table without a reservation. Just a gourmet sandwich and mineral water but a great place to sink into the sofa and people-watch.
The Caledonian at The Waldorf Astoria Hotel – EdinburghSpent Hogmanay at The Scotsman and the North Bridge Brasserie is the hotel’s restaurant. We ate there on two nights – standard a la carte meal on the 30th and the six-course banquet on the 31stand were impressed. The hotel was created out of the old Scotsman newspaper offices so of course it’s packed with the building’s original features, the restaurant being no exception. It has both a bar area and a brasserie plus a mezzanine level with tables too. Friendly staff and efficient service. Recommended.
North Bridge Brasserie – EdinburghHad a light lunch here at New Year and it was a great spot to escape from hustle and bustle as the city built itself up for the big Hogmanay celebrations.
Hadrians @ The Balmoral Hotel – EdinburghThe Logierait is where the food is good, the atmosphere is good, the staff are excellent , in fact the whole ambience is welcoming. It's the place which makes visitors to Scotland yearn to return. My husband and I never miss an opportunity to spend an evening in the Logierait whenever we stay in those glorious mountains.
The Logierait Inn – PerthI love this place the food is amazing!!!
Viva Brazil – GlasgowDavie, who runs the bar is a smashing lad, but unfortunately his pub has gone right downhill, he's lost a top bar man in Jamie and failed to recognise his loss, he's filled it with girls who lack the charisma required to make a bar work, and the standard of the beer has gone downhill, other bars in Broughty Ferry are better than this pub I'm afraid, Davie the owner has other interests now it seems and his pub is in decline, was a good pub now not a place I'd go to in a hurry, advise avoid.
DOC Ferry’s Bar – DundeeA delightful, friendly pub in a super location! On the coast road from Port William to Glenluce, we passed it several times and then called in at 6pm on a Thursday evening...the owners were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Good home cooked food at very reasonable price. Sat in conservatory overlooking the bay...lovely! Will def call again next time in the area!
Cock Inn – DumfriesFirst class food
Elphin Tea Room – HighlandsVisited the mailcoach and have to say I was extremely disappointed with the dark gloomy atmosphere..waiting staff were attentive and pleasant...food was served quickly and was of a good standard..but what appalled me the most was the managers attitude to customers(not very many) and.to the waiting staff...first visit since new manager took over...we will NOT be back...
Mailcoach – GlasgowHad an amazing meal here, great value, great choice and healthy options. Decided to stay much longer as it was such a good atmosphere.
Amicus Apple – AberdeenIf you are looking for a great fish and chip shop this is the one to order from. Generous portions of tastey fresh fish and chips all at a reasonable price. One Happy eater out of loads of them
