The Tilley Raven – Shrewsbury*****
The Bull – ShrewsburyAbsolutely fantastic! 10 stars!! Everything was brilliant. The service, the food and the personal attention from Ryan. 1st time visiting but certainly is now on our list as a regular place. Could not fault at all.
The Bull – ShrewsburyMy review posted before i scored!
The Bull – ShrewsburyI honestly dont know where the bad reviews come from or how recent they are but they cant be recent! Some of the best food and service we have had in years and it is the same every time we come! The team are great and the food is wonderful. We will keep returning and we certainly suggest you to. THE BULL WILL NOT DISSAPOINT
The Bull – ShrewsburyAbsolutely fantastic mothers day. My mum doesn’t get out often but today she did. We chose the bull as it had some good feedback from friends and we were not disappointed at all. The place was beautiful and the atmosphere was so cosy and sweet. Staff were on hand to greet us and make us welcome and we were promptly seen too. Both waiters were very cheerful and happy and they could not of done more for us. Food was superb. We hope to return.
The Bull – ShrewsburyAfter being there for almost 2 hours, We had to ask at the bar if we could order desserts. When they arrived, we had to ask again at the bar for cutlery. The risotto was bland but the roast beef was nice. The menus were different to what was advertised online so a bit disappointing and much more expensive, as you had to order at least 2 courses.
The Bull – ShrewsburyMeal cost more than advertised on website. When I questioned this I was advised there is a legal batter about their website. Service was slow which resulted in walking to the bar and placing order. We had to ask twice for our meal as we waited over an hour and was only having one course. Food was great though.
The Bull – ShrewsburyThe food was generally excellent, extremely tasty, we both had roast pork. However, whilst my partner's was mostly meat, mine was 50% fat, which was disappointing. When we sat down to order we noticed the menu was different to what was visible online. On enquiry we were told they had changed menus about a month ago, but did not have rights to their own website in order to update. We asked if we could still order a couple of roast sandwiches from the old menu, they checked with the kitchen and said we could. Food was slow to arrive, taking about half an hour, but as previously said was very tasty, if a bit fat heavy on mine. When we received the bill the sandwiches were £16 each, where on the online menu they were £9. When we questioned if this was correct they again went to check with the kitchen and told us it was correct, that £16 was the price for a single course (not listed on the paper or online menu) but they would take £2 off the total bill. Whist we understand they had been nice enough to make something off the old menu, to be charged £16 per item for something advertised at £9 on an active website, without being told of the price difference before hand, did not sit well. The £2 total off the bill did little to ease that feeling. We would much rather have been told "no" and just ordered a full roast dinner, which would have cost the same and been more than mostly bread, a few small roast potatoes and a slice of stuffing. Overall disappointing, lack of communication being the big let down.
The Bull – ShrewsburyAbsolutely delicious Sunday dinner. Highly recommended!
The Bull – ShrewsburyAs always, our recent meal at The Raven was excellent. This time we took guests who were gluten free, dairy free and couldn't have garlic or onions and despite this they found plenty of choice and were accommodated with tasty food. The manager Kerry is friendly and efficient and makes every trip special for us, as well as for our dogs who always are given biscuits and fuss by the staff and love to visit! We eat here every couple of weeks and never run out of tasty things to try on the menu, and are never disappointed.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyVery pleasant service, very tasty food. 5*
The Bull – ShrewsburyMe and my boyfriend visited the bull for the first time for our valentines meal. The restaurant was decorated beautifully with candles, rose petals and roses on the table. The staff were friendly, attentive and well presented within themselves. The manager Ryan; he was fantastic; he knew exactly what he was doing and he ran his team well. The food was delicious and very well presented; we didn’t have to wait too long for our food either and the staff made sure we had drinks during our wait between courses. All in all a fantastic experience; lovely place, lovely food and exceptional staff. We will definitely be returning!
The Bull – ShrewsburyVisited in February 2023 and all four in the party (with different dietary requirements) had excellent meals. The Service was also fantastic and we would highly recommend the The Bull to all.
