The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyBooked a table for two for Sunday lunch for midday . We're greeted by friendly staff who escorted us to the table and took our drinks order . Ordered two Sunday dinners then we waited for for 45 mins , meals were very tasty and everything well cooked. After we had finished we waited another 20 minutes for our plates to be taken and order pudding. We ordered pudding then waited another 30 minutes for them to arrive and again they were delicious. By this time the pub was busy but there were only two members of staff serving and they were clearly struggling. Can't fault the food just needs another member of staff to speed service and it would have been a better experience.
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe visited The Bull for the first time and really enjoyed it. There were plenty of choices on the menu and I decided on a curry dish. It came out well presented and it tasted delicious! The service was excellent and they made sure that we always had a drink and checked our meals were ok. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
The Bull – ShrewsburyI booked lunch for four of us and we all had a different meal. All of our meals were delicious! Plus served by lovely friendly staff. We will be back very soon. Thank you for a delightful lunch time.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyVisited the Raven with family Friday after having a great meal and service with friend a few months back, but was very disappointed with the standard of service and quality of food. It took over an hour for our main course to arrive with no apology whilst other tables who arrived after us were served their starters in rapid speed. When our food arrived it was greasy and overcooked and the mushy peas dry. Considering the time we spent in the restaurant we were only asked if we would like a drink on arrival and not approached at any time even though our glasses were empty before our meal arrived.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyHi We called in for lunch today 1pm table of 4 We totally understand Sunday’s are busy However waiting 1 hour 15 minutes for a Sunday roast is not very good for business No Yorkshire pudding on one dish. I also asked for mint sauce that came to the table after I had nearly finished the dish I paid for two kids 3 courses but left after the main I hope this can be addressed As we’ve never had a problem before Always been fantastic Thanks
The Bull – ShrewsburyYesterday we came for lunch with some family so a table of 4 at 1pm, the lamb shank meal was divine very moist a few more carrots would have been good is my only pick with this meal and the offer of gravy perhaps especially as at £19 it was one of the expensive meals on offer. The 3 other meals were great! The sticky toffee was a lovely pudding as was the choc orange tart and sorbet. Service wasn't bad, but we had to ask for someone to bring more drinks and a pudding menu.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyStarter (garlic mushrooms / whitebait) was ok. Main meal - no steak and ale pie or hand cut chips, so ordered gammon and then steak with sweet potato fries. The gammon was ok, the steak was excellently cooked and the best part of the meal but was ruined due to burnt sweet potato fries. Really disappointed so skipped dessert and got something on the way home!
The Bull – ShrewsburyMy friend and I chose the Tilley Raven as a halfway meeting point for a bite to eat and catch up. I had not been there beforehand so didn't know what to expect. The staff were friendly and service was good. We agreed that the food we had was nice (I had rump steak cooked rare and my friend had the (slice) of steak pie which was tasty). It was a busy evening and most tables were occupied which is great to see on a Tuesday evening and after the last year, however as the room is open plan and with wooden floors it lends itself to being quite noisy especially if there's a large group celebrating at the next table! Maybe next time we meet we'll chose somewhere a wee bit quieter for a natter
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyHad a really great meal at The Tilley Raven last night for our 6th Wedding Anniversary, I tasty mussel starter and a brilliant rare steak , followed by a choc brownie. Food was great. Service was excellent. :)
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyThey managed to fit in a party of 16 with only 48 hours notice ( 90th b'day) The food was lovely and plentiful and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyI really don't know where to start. We went for Sunday lunch here and as soon as we arrived it was a nightmare. The young barmaid took our order of drinks which was a pint of bitter, half a lager and lime and a JD and coke with ice. She then asked if we would like ice in all of the drinks? I just pretended I didn't hear it. 3 times we had to send the drinks back. After waiting 50 minutes for our food the landlord then asked if we ordered the beef baguettes to which I replied no we ordered 2 beef dinners and one pork. You should know this as you took the order. After waiting another 20 minutes our food finally arrived. I asked the young lad where was our potatoes and roasts to which he replied we don't have any in as delivery didnt arrive. What's a roast without potatoes. The meal was stone cold and the manager said don't worry it's all free of charge. Even tho the meal was free we still got up and walked out. I advise everyone to avoid this place and go elsewhere. Staff were understandings but it totally ruined the day.
The Bull – ShrewsburyLovely home cooked food.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburySunday Lunch menu - poor No Starters - Was offered cauliflower cheese (which was on main meal) Meal was served swimming in gravy - never known that with any meal out! Disappointing as our local pub Staff were friendly
The Bull – ShrewsburyPopped in for Sunday lunch. My sons Raven burger was amazingly good! Before we’d left was eager to return! Be nice to see some midweek offers to encourage more frequent visits. Will return.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyMind bogglingly foul mussels, weird tasting BBQ ribs and chips smothered in cheap truffle oil with coarse grated parmesan like it was cheese on toast. Don't even consider it. Since being taken over this pub does not do good food.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburySunday Lunch: 2 courses, £19; 3 courses, £23
Sundays roasts with all the trimmings from £13.50
