Our food was simply beautiful very tasty and the steaks were cooked to perfection! the staff were very helpful and well mannered and are a credit to the place .
The Bull – ShrewsburyMe and my partner came for a meal Wednesday evening and was really impressed with the meal and the staff. On arrival we was informed that some of the items on the menu were unavailable but that didn’t put us off one bit. We both enjoyed a 12 oz gammon and the meal was spot on and value for money. The barman/waiter was training a young member of staff and we was really impressed how he was talking her through everything and making her feel at ease . We will 100% be returning in the not so distant future
The Bull – ShrewsburyMain course was very good, however I was disappointed with the Eton mess. I expected strawberies and whipped cream and meringue and instead received meringue, a few black currants in yoghurt. Service was good. Thanks
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyI took my friend there for Lunch and the food was spot on, very nice and the pub itself was in a great location, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, we will definitely be returning as there was so many different things we wanted to try.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyThe food was lovely very tasty. I had the Raven burger which was amazing. Very good value. My friend had a mix of thing as a main - wings, cauliflower cheese and truffle and parmesan chips which she enjoyed. The only thing that let it down was the service. The pub wasn’t that busy and we waited ages to order - admittedly we weren’t ready when the lady first came over but it was very difficult to get her attention. No one asked if our food was ok or if we needed more drinks - we did! When we finally got drinks our dirty plates were left in front of us. No offer of dessert. Our plates weren’t cleared until we asked for the bill. There were 2 members of staff on neither of which seemed to be overly busy. A shame really as it would have been a fantastic evening. Would think twice about going again.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe went to The Raven at Tilly last night for the first time after hearing good reviews about the food. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food and the service received. Despite there being plenty of spare tables, the service was slow. We waited for almost an hour from sitting down to actually eating our meal. The meal was very average (gammon over cooked). I asked for blue cheese sauce and was really disappointed with it - £2.50 got me a tiny jug half full of watery sauce. After asking for the bill, we left the cash on our table and waited for our change. After waiting for over 20 minutes (and staff walking past us to clear empty tables), we had to go up to the bar to get our change. I’m afraid won’t be going again.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyExcellent food, excellent service
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyCame for lunch with friends on a Tuesday. The pub itself is lovely with some nice tables in front which catch the sun. The staff were very friendly and the drinks and ordering food was quick and efficient. We did have a long wait for the food though in,by then, a very quiet pub. The 2 men had the chicken ,ribs combo and both were happy with portion size and taste. The fish and chips were declared delicious and the special homemade lasagne was tasty but singed and the garlic bread dry. Puddings were enormous but I think the ice cream was poor, the flavours were strange and the chocolate powdery. They ought to go for a local farm made one like Moo Thru at Whitchurch which is something special and would be delicious and would be a good selling point. We had a pleasant meal and the price was competitive. We will definitely be back.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyA lovely Father’s Day lunch. Delicious food and large portions.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe arrived for a Father's Day evening meal on Sunday, 20 June 2021. It was clear that there had been a busy lunch time service as the children were given sausages and stuffing instead of their pigs in blankets starters, my main dish of mussles was served at lukewarm temperature and the entire evening lacked the buzz and ambiance of a special night out. We were placed in the centre of the dining room with three small tables pushed together. The table legs were uneven which made it difficult to enjoy our meals and the wait was extraordinarily long for our first round of drinks and subsequent food order. This was the first visit since the pub re-opened and unfortunately a rather unfortunate one. I'm afraid the price we paid for our meals was not representative of our experience. It's doubful we'll be back.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe had Father's Day lunch at the Tilly Raven yesterday. Beautiful meal, so well prepared and cooked, a real credit to the chefs and kitchen staff. Would highly recommend. Front of house staff extremely friendly and helpful too.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely food and staff. Nice atmosphere, would go again! Thank you!!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe have been to The Tilly Raven at Wem a few times now,the food and service is always excellent and let's not forget the beer . I would really recommend it .We will definitely be going again
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyVery good food, reasonably priced, very friendly staff. Most definitely will be returning.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe had a lovely Sunday lunch here yesterday. The staff on duty were friendly and very Efficient. The food was beautiful and the portion sizes were perfect, I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing, I feel so grateful to have this little gem in our town. Special mention to the lady on duty who was so friendly towards my son who wanted to give her the money to pay our bill. I have been here a few times with a friend on a Thursday & this lady goes above & beyond each time. We will be back very soon.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAfter a long year of lockdown I was looking forward to going out for some local food ,I was very disappointed was not ask to use the track and trace till I was sat down at my table then sew people walking in with staff and no face covering never sew any staff to order a second drink . Would not recommend think staff need to be trained on customer service.
