The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyA friend recommended your pub, and I’m so pleased she did. We had delicious food at reasonable prices. The service was excellent. Highly recommended, and will return.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyVery disappointed visit this time. Only Sunday roast available, Then was told one of those options not available Nut roast for vegetarians . Asked for a latte ,but took ages as this bar man did not know how to make it . Asked for a jug of water ,no ice !! Ice machine broken . 2nd Jug of water ,something not nice floating in it . The meat was very fatty ,when we told the waiter no apologies. It’s a shame as been here before ,and always had good meals and good service .
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe have had a roast Sunday Lunch twice now at the Tilley Raven. Both times, the food was cooked to perfection, compliments to the Chef. The meal was well balanced with complementary flavours, the red cabbage contrasting nicely with the cauliflower cheese. My husband had a very nice portion of apple crumble which was, I think, French style with the crumble cooked separately from the fruit so that it was nice and crunchy. Service was prompt and our young waitress was pleasant and very efficient. I think that the Tilley is a hidden secret and we’ll definitely be back.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely village pub/restaurant. Great menu with lots of variety and choice. Good service. Food arrived well presented. Vegetable kebab first class. Unfortunately my husbands hunters chicken not so good. Great presentation but the chicken was very chewy. It wasn’t overcooked. Perhaps low quality chicken? Apple crumble absolutely superb. Large portions.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely lunch. Good service and reasonable prices
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWonderful. Lovely food. Reasonably priced. Great pub with exceptional service.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyFood quality was awful, slow and unprofessional service.
The Bull – ShrewsburyAbsolutely disgusting food, drove 15 miles to have a meal! Awful service, atmosphere and sent the meals back TWICE! And ended up back at home no food! Fuming and no one seemed in charge and the pub was empty in the restaurant expect for kids endlessly running through we parents made so noise in the bar it was ridiculous! Cold horrible pub!
The Bull – ShrewsburyReally nice pub - good food and friendly service.
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe come here regularly as a family, and with friends after mountain biking. The food and service is always amazing. Dog-friendly, the kids love it and has a really cosy, friendly atmosphere. Maybe some music playing would add to the atmosphere..? Would happily eat Sunday roast here every week.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyNipped out to try Tilley Raven on Tuesday evening. It was really quite (as expected on a Tuesday) but place felt warm and cosy and the service was exceptional. No feeble attempt just because we were the only diners on arrival which was really appreciated. Our server was pleasent and went the extra mile. The chef (who we later found out was the trainee) made some wonderful food for us to the point we assumed he was the main chef (we'll be back to try his food). The only odd bit was the desert. My chocolate tart was served warm (so the chocolate melted) and my daughters sundae was actually two scoops of ice cream in a bowl... still, both tasted lovely. Would recommend going here if you're fairly local. We drove over from Dudleston. Good to know we have another nice pub within an easy drive.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAbsolutely fabulous meal again couldn’t fault a thing beautifully presented we will be back Sunday
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe booked a table for five people at 3pm on Sunday 2nd June. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who prepared our drinks and showed us to our table. We ordered three roast beef and one pork ( plus an extra yorkshire for my 94 year old mother in law - she didn't realise how huge they were ! ). My brother in law ordered the steak pie and mash. The meals arrived and were absolutely gorgeous. So much varied veg, nice amount of meat and plenty of gravy. My brother in law said it was one of the best pies he had ever tasted. Three of us managed a dessert. We were very pleased that we had chosen the Tilley as Sunday roast can be a little hit and miss sometimes. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable couple of hours.
