Lovely evening, fabulous food and staff
The Last Inn – NewportMe and my partner visited on New Year’s Day, we were greeted by a lovely lady (who I believe her name is Niamh going by the receipt) and from start to finish she was wonderful, always had a smile on her face and so accommodating. We wanted to pass on how much we appreciated her kindness and she is such a credit to this establishment. Food and atmosphere was lovely as always. Thank you :)
The Last Inn – Newport£450 for Christmas Day. Meal. Starter was high light. Yorkshire pudding on a Christmas Dinner? Not enough gravy. Turkey was ok. As restaurant got busier service declined. Did not clear away main course. Had to wait an hour for pudding. No custard on Xmas pudding ? To afraid d to ask for more as felt like we were forgotten about. Overall experience was disappointing. Will not go there next year.
The Last Inn – NewportExcellent food and service
The Last Inn – NewportLovely meal,Customer service is exceptional
The Last Inn – NewportMy bestie had our monthly meal at the Inn last night and I had a very good meal , the service was good, and considering there was a lot of customers in the restaurant the service was not too long to wait….the only downside was the price of our drinks, we had a White Zinfandel and Lemonade spritzer which was £9.10, that was a bit expensive compared with other restaurants we have used
The Last Inn – NewportMe and my husband attended for a special meal to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had excellent customer service from start to finish The food we had was really lovely and one of the best 3 course meals we have had together.
The Last Inn – NewportWe are quite regular at The Last as we find food and service generally good . On Sunday 15/ 11/24, we had a table for 8 booked, and we had walked up, so a drink or two would be in order to enjoy the afternoon. Food was good , service a little slow when it wasn't that busy, but sadly again , they had run out of all premier lagers which we feel shouldn't keep happening. There was no reason given or apology. We decided to eat and head else where to finish our afternoon, but then to top it all , their card machine wouldn't work , luckily having cash to get away . Not what's needed to relax and enjoy lunch out, so come on, everyone, get back on your game and make The Last the go to place .
The Last Inn – NewportMeal for 8, food was great, service was great, great surroundings, you would be mad not to give it a try.
The Last Inn – NewportCame on Friday the 13th for the Christmas Fayre Food and service were fantastic. Drinks when ordered were served quickly and correctly well done all we thoroughly enjoyed our evening
The Last Inn – NewportI booked a Christmas meal here for 13 of us from work. The meal was excellent - food was piping hot and good value for money. Harry and the team were brilliant, service was quick and we had a really enjoyable evening. I would definitely book again.
The Last Inn – NewportWe booked here as we’re close to the area and wanted a little treat before heading home. We booked online a couple of hours before and were excited as it’d been recommended. When we arrived there was a table clearly complaining at the bar, we weren’t acknowledged or a quick, “will be with you in a minute” when the table left, to which they said to us on their way out, ‘I wouldn’t if I were you’. I told the server we had a table booked, they said it wasn’t ready (we were a few minutes early) which is fine. We then waited another 10 minutes, no acknowledgment or sorry for taking so long. Another table approached him whilst he was laying our table and we overheard them asking for some sort of discount and didn’t look too happy, clearly another complaint. Rather than him telling them he’ll be 2 minutes so that he could see to us and take us to our table, he dealt with them instead??? Making us wait even longer. There was a lady sat in the bar who also said to us not to bother at that point I told the server we were going elsewhere as it’d taken far too long to even sit us down and 2 tables told us not to risk it!! I’m not sure if it was a staffing problem but they didn’t seem too busy and to be honest, I’ve worked in hospitality, some simple manners and acknowledgement is common knowledge and doesn’t take much!! We won’t be returning and we didn’t even make it to the food but after reading the reviews we won’t bother. Such a shame.
The Last Inn – NewportFabulous! Had an amazing meal at the Last Inn on 27th November. One of the best meals out I have had in ages. Front of house manager was excellent with great attention to detail. Already looking forward to the next visit.
The Last Inn – NewportGreat food and service. Tasha our hostess was brilliant nothing too much trouble she was friendly . Food was great value for money definitely going back again
The Last Inn – NewportOur Family lunch at The Last Inn Newport on 17/11/25 . The Service from all staff and Food was excellent we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch Thankyou to all .
The Last Inn – NewportMyself and my husband have not been hear for a while due to having a daughter and not getting much time for ourselves. We decided to book last minute at the last as meals have always been good. Well what can I say we were really disappointed from the moment we arrived. It was chaotic around the bar area but we did get shown to our seats and given menus. 25 minutes later no one had come to us or offered us drinks!!! We were just sitting there. I asked my husband to go to the bar but on his way he asked a server if we could order drinks. Well we then managed to get our food order in while we got our drink order in. 10 minutes still waiting no sign of drinks tbh at this point I felt like cancelling everything and walking out as didn’t want to spend my money hear. I had to ask again where our drinks were and they then came straight away. Food was average not as good as it use to be My husband had the pie which I think he enjoyed I had a vegetarian option a burge it was not great like mush in a bun. Chips have changed they were more like wedges . We paid and left but to be honest will not be coming back in a hurry . I feel service wasn’t great and it wasn’t that busy so I’m not sure why!!! Maybe understaffed or they just can’t be arsed who knows but such a shame as this was the first pub we came to when we first moved to Shropshire in 2017 and loved it .
The Last Inn – NewportHad a birthday meal for my partner, food was lovely and freshly cooked, partner had the tomahawk steak and it was cooked to perfection and the meat was first class. Good choice of drinks, we were both very happy with our first time at the Last Inn, thank you
The Last Inn – NewportWe booked a table for Sunday lunch at 3pm. Food was fine and quite tasty but the place wasn’t at all busy and, as a consequence, there was little or no atmosphere. Service was friendly but somewhat surprisingly not very quick. Sort of 7 out of 10 overall.
The Last Inn – NewportSunday roasts from £14.
