Had a gorgeous Sunday lunch, would highly recommend!
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordA lovely evening, with a warm atmosphere and excellent staff. The fish (sea bream and salmon) and steak were all first class. The vegetarian meal needed a little more range - only cheesy mushroom risotto for main and either cheesy soup or mushrooms to start made it repetitious but still tasty. Family score overall 19/20, highly recommended, many thanks.
The White Hart – IronbridgeBeautiful food, I had the duck and my husband had the pork belly. The service was brilliant, all staff welcoming and prompt. Definitely recommend The White Hart. Thank you.
The White Hart – IronbridgeNot very impressed! Outside was incredibly noisy. Had booked table inside and were led through the rowdy crowds to a dimly-lit back room. Having used our phone torches to read the menu, we ordered from a pleasant young lady. Unfortunately, the food was then taken to the wrong table, then back to the kitchen before being brought back out to us. I'd ordered fish and there was what can only be described as a 'smear' of tartar sauce on the plate. We were asked if we wanted any sauces so I requested some extra tartar. 15 mins then passed before waitress came back to tell me they'd run out of tartar! In their favour however, the food was good. In the meantime, all the (dim) lights had gone out and a member of staff called out not to panic as they had a live wire and were trying to fix them! We sat on in darkness (phone torches out again!) until lights flickered back on in our room but not in the adjoining dining area. While this was going on yet another meal was delivered to the wrong table and put in front of someone. Eventually, this mistake was realised and waitress removed it and served it to the right person. Not really what you expect during a pandemic! I'd have thought the fewer people that breathed on the meal, the better! Anyway, we beat a retreat as soon as possible. Lights still hadn't come back on in adjoining dining area even half an hour later. Will not be returning!
The Malthouse – TelfordYesterday we came for lunch with some family so a table of 4 at 1pm, the lamb shank meal was divine very moist a few more carrots would have been good is my only pick with this meal and the offer of gravy perhaps especially as at £19 it was one of the expensive meals on offer. The 3 other meals were great! The sticky toffee was a lovely pudding as was the choc orange tart and sorbet. Service wasn't bad, but we had to ask for someone to bring more drinks and a pudding menu.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAmazing starters but disappointed with the main - full rack of ribs. Little to no meat on them, purely fat and cartilage. Gutted as had been recommended them. Don’t think we’ll be returning.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordWe went with a large party , the food was very nice even though alittle expensive . The service was adequate considering how busy they were. The only thing that I can complain about that was there were alot of people in a small area with no ventilation so it got hot and stuffy in there quite quickly .
The Malthouse – TelfordStarter (garlic mushrooms / whitebait) was ok. Main meal - no steak and ale pie or hand cut chips, so ordered gammon and then steak with sweet potato fries. The gammon was ok, the steak was excellently cooked and the best part of the meal but was ruined due to burnt sweet potato fries. Really disappointed so skipped dessert and got something on the way home!
The Bull – ShrewsburyFantastic food and wonderful live music on the Saturday we attended. Portions were really generous and service was great, will definitely be going back!
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordIt’s been difficult times so trying to take this into account but the atmosphere wasn’t great, we waited nearly 1 Hr for our main meal after starters with no reason given - when I asked it finally arrived. The only vegan option was really not good & I couldn’t finish it, other meals were not good either & definitely don’t go if need gluten free which they said they had but didn’t really although attempted to resolve this. Will not be returning.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordGreat food great service - will return fro definite. Not our first meal here and won’t be our last. Portions are very generous so half of our meals were untouched which is a shame - we need to order better in future. It’s a meat heavy menu but the veggie and vegan options are there and are lovejy. I didn’t catch her name but the blonde lady with the tattoos who I also see at the malt house offers exceptional service .. friendly and relaxed but still very professional.,
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordMy friend and I chose the Tilley Raven as a halfway meeting point for a bite to eat and catch up. I had not been there beforehand so didn't know what to expect. The staff were friendly and service was good. We agreed that the food we had was nice (I had rump steak cooked rare and my friend had the (slice) of steak pie which was tasty). It was a busy evening and most tables were occupied which is great to see on a Tuesday evening and after the last year, however as the room is open plan and with wooden floors it lends itself to being quite noisy especially if there's a large group celebrating at the next table! Maybe next time we meet we'll chose somewhere a wee bit quieter for a natter
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyGood food, comfortable rooms, great breakfast!
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordOne word… AMAZING!!!! My wife and I have dined here a few times now and it’s always great service, Covid friendly and the meals are fantastic! The chef is a genius! Try the buffalo soldier fries and the brisket!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordService and atmosphere excellent . Food was good. Extremely friendly and efficient staff.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWould whole heartedly recommend this pub for a meal. There was a slight mix up with our booking. Josh and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Food was excellent, would definitely come back.
