My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal here. The atmosphere was great, food was well presented and tasted delicious. Will definitely return and would recommend dining here.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal here. The atmosphere was great, food was well presented and tasted delicious. Will definitely return and would recommend dining here.
The White Hart – IronbridgeThe Smokey Cow is a lovely restaurant inside and all members of staff are so lovely and helpful. My starter was lovely but unfortunately my main was very bland. I had never had a chicken burger so tasteless. My other half enjoyed his beef burger so maybe avoid chicken products here. I would visit again and choose something else on the menu. We had to wait a while for our starters to arrive but mains came quickly after we finished our starters.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe decided to go out for Sunday lunch and, having had lovely meals at the Malthouse before, decided to book a table. We were very disappointed to arrive at 3.30, our normal time, only to be told that they had no Sunday lunches left at all. It was a lovely day, but they didn’t seem that busy, so I’m not sure why this was the case. We chose from their normal menu, my husband had a Malthouse burger and I had beef lasagne. I can only say that my lasagne was the worst I have ever had. Three sheets of pasta, drowned in passata and beshamel sauce, with a teaspoon of mince does not constitute a tasty meal, believe you me. As a local, not a tourist, I expect far better from them. Another local couple who arrived after us, were given Sunday lunch menus, only to be told when they came to order, that they weren’t available. No apology was given. They were furious and walked out. After the meal I had, I wish that I had walked out too. It certainly wasn’t worth £12.50. It will be a while before I go there again.
The Malthouse – TelfordThe food was delicious but the service was very slow considering we where the only people dining at that time. The waitresses was friendly but a little slow asking for drinks, bringing menus etc and there where three behind the bar too.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHad a great overnight stay and wonderful meal. Bring back the Bharji Burger ..Food excellent service fantastic. 2 great members of staff on.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordGreat food, great service, really enjoyed lunch - as always. Very attentive and good value for money. Had battered fish and chips - was delicious. Thanks again - see you next time!
The White Hart – IronbridgeWent for the Saturday Fish Night and had a really lovely meal, served in a friendly and professional manner and in welcoming surroundings. Great quality and good value, with some interesting dishes on offer both on the specials and everyday menu. We will be going back for sure. It is a pity though that it's so quiet - only 4 tables taken on a Saturday night when we were there - they deserve much more. Hopefully they can regain their deserved reputation and get more support from the village and nearby residents. We will certainly be spreading the word!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyProbably the best Sunday Roast we have ever had. We were served a very generous portion of roast pork and an array of vegetables that were so tasty we could have happily been served just those with the delicious gravy. But the absolute cherry on the cake was the pork crackling. The staff were friendly and welcoming and service was quick. They accommodated our children by providing colouring pages & crayons and even displayed the children’s art on the wall.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe had Sunday lunch, and as we don't eat meat opted for the nut roast. I asked for a yorkshire pudding as it was Sunday lunch and was happy when it arrived with all the usual trimmings. The food was superb and hot. As always the atmosphere was relaxed and service outstanding.
The White Hart – IronbridgeHad Sunday dinner and it was nice and hot including the plate. Food was delivered promptly and staff were very attentive.
The White Hart – IronbridgeStopped one night good clean room beams a bit low but nice . Bit of a wait for food and drinks but worth the wait . Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast…..
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordHad a meal at The Malthouse on Friday 11th March. I had the meat lasagne and my partner had a burger. The food was really nice and the staff were attentive. After the meal we went into the bar area where Fruit Machine were on, a great band so we had a brilliant night & we will be back.
The Malthouse – TelfordDelicious food and a cosy atmosphere. Was disappointed to have to wait 1hr to be served our food as there were only a couple of other tables occupied. Staff welcoming and friendly.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe were a group of six at 7pm, there was only one other table in the restaurant at the same time. Extensive menu to which we were looking for to. We ordered starters and mains and waited excitedly. Brie wedges - lovely Nachos - lovely Potato skins - tasteless and luke warm 2 lots of chicken wings - acceptable but luke warm Pork Scratchings - ran out. Waitress was very apologetic but very professional. Mains 2 x Macaroni cheese - bland, running and the chicken on the top was cool. Steak and Kidney Pie was ordered, at this time we were advised they had run out! Reordered Beef short rib with jalapeno mash with crispy onions, peppercorn gravy and shropshire blue sauce. Meal arrived, jalapeno was just slices on the top, no onions, they had run out of peppercorn gravy and Shropshire blue sauce.......... How hard is it to make a gravy and a Blue sauce! Especially as there was only two tables and no one else arrived all evening! Smoked haddock and salmon fish pie, creamy mash, seasonal veg and lemon and tarragon sauce. Meal arrived look nice......... the seasonal veg was a slightly warmed cabbage with chopped green beans, the pie had lots of tasty fish but again not hot, the sauce...... they had run out! The other 2 ordered the sharing pitmaster. Ribs and short ribs were tough to the point they could not even nibble at the meat and they were full of gristle and fat. The chicken was ok, the brisket was tasty and hot, sausage was nice, pork and beans were cold, no coleslaw turned up and the corn was luke warm again. Desserts Amazing - everyone enjoyed every mouthful, it was the best course of the day. In short, front of house superb, they are efficient and polite with a smile. Unfortunately for them, they were relaying the apologies from the kitchen. Food - underwhelming, for so many issues to have been had with everyone's meal, it wasn't just one 'fussy' eater. Shame as we have eaten in many of the other branches and had much been food served. Not sure why a kitchen cannot make sauces or deliver food hot. Not an experience we will be returning to try.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordGreat food and great service, would defiantly recommend a visit.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFood was lovely, service could have been quicker, waitress did her best. hasn't put me off though.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordThe Malt House catered for 19 of us in March 2022. I absolutely cannot fault them. The service was excellent and the food was beautiful. All food was brought out together and no one was sat waiting. Staff were immediately on hand if we needed anything. Food was simply perfect. Absolutely fantastic meal, thank you.
