Wonderful meal
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThe location is very rural and the road in is tricky but well worth the journey, I struggled to get into a parking space due to the car park being very narrow and my car being quite long but once parked and inside myself and gf were very impressed, seating is well spaced, the decor was quaint and the staff were very polite and efficient with their jobs, the only thing that could make the place any better was the food and it did, rump steak cooked to perfection with the usual trimmings and “ messy fries “ ( which were new to me ) I opted for the pulled pork ones and found that they were a really tasty addition to the meal, I definitely recommend this venue to anyone who’s looking for a quiet, private and enjoyable meal out
The Smokey Cow – TelfordLovely refurbishment, good service, good food at prices i would expect for a gastro pub, but i was surprised and disappointed with the poor choice of real ales (Wainwrights Golden ale & Ringwoods Razorback). As a real ale drinker, i felt compelled to steer clear and chose a cold crisp Estrella lager to accompany my meal instead. To attract real ale drinkers may i suggest, stocking on a rotational basis, a locally brewed real ale guest beer, such as from Ludlow, Hobsons, Salopian, Woods breweries, etc.
Water Rat – IronbridgeHad the Pitmaster sharing platter and it was perfection. My son and I couldn’t believe our eyes with the amount of food we had and every part of the meal was awesome, the variety of meats is amazing and each is cooked and tasted outstanding , the sides that come perfectly compliment it and upgrading to pulled pork fries is also a must, whilst the food blew us away so did the staff and their fantastic customer service, , all in all totally recommended.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThe food was lovely very tasty. I had the Raven burger which was amazing. Very good value. My friend had a mix of thing as a main - wings, cauliflower cheese and truffle and parmesan chips which she enjoyed. The only thing that let it down was the service. The pub wasn’t that busy and we waited ages to order - admittedly we weren’t ready when the lady first came over but it was very difficult to get her attention. No one asked if our food was ok or if we needed more drinks - we did! When we finally got drinks our dirty plates were left in front of us. No offer of dessert. Our plates weren’t cleared until we asked for the bill. There were 2 members of staff on neither of which seemed to be overly busy. A shame really as it would have been a fantastic evening. Would think twice about going again.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe went to The Raven at Tilly last night for the first time after hearing good reviews about the food. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food and the service received. Despite there being plenty of spare tables, the service was slow. We waited for almost an hour from sitting down to actually eating our meal. The meal was very average (gammon over cooked). I asked for blue cheese sauce and was really disappointed with it - £2.50 got me a tiny jug half full of watery sauce. After asking for the bill, we left the cash on our table and waited for our change. After waiting for over 20 minutes (and staff walking past us to clear empty tables), we had to go up to the bar to get our change. I’m afraid won’t be going again.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyExcellent food, excellent service
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyFab Sunday lunch. Lovely setting and great staff.
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe had a wonderful meal at the White Hart. We were meeting up with family that we haven't seen for 18 months and it was perfect in every way! The food was amazing as was the service. Conner was delightful. Food had unusual twists but was beautifully cooked and presented. We live in South Wales so we won't be able to visit regularly but I would not hesitate to recommend this venue.
The White Hart – IronbridgeThe food is lovely and the staff are very attentive so we really enjoyed the experience. Due to the lock downs we have not eaten out for so long this was a real treat.
The White Hart – IronbridgeAlways an amazing meal out! Great drive to iron bridge, romantic setting and omg the food!!!!! Absolutely brilliant - best place outside of Birmingham to eat!
The White Hart – IronbridgeExcellent dining experience from start to finish - really interesting menu with great dishes which made choosing somewhat difficult! We loved the complementary roasted tomato & basil amuse-Bouche with tasty home made bread followed by starters of char Sui and also the teriyaki starters. These were followed by succulent steak and Moroccan lamb mains. Too full to each order a dessert we shared a mouth watering passion fruit mess and this finished the whole delicious meal off nicely! The service was attentive, professional and friendly and we left feeling that we would definitely return! Highly recommend this place but advise that you do book in order to avoid disappointment!
The White Hart – IronbridgeWe visited the White Hart twice during our week's stay in Ironbridge. The food was excellent, with a twist on classic dishes. The service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome. Would highly recommend.
The White Hart – IronbridgeA gem. Beautifully presented meals and delicious. My husband and I had an amazing meal. Satisfying, full of taste and ingenuity. Great value for quality. Staff were friendly and clearly enjoyed serving the dishes. Nothing negative to report.
The White Hart – IronbridgeA fabulous meal in a great location Can’t fault anything
The White Hart – IronbridgeCame for lunch with friends on a Tuesday. The pub itself is lovely with some nice tables in front which catch the sun. The staff were very friendly and the drinks and ordering food was quick and efficient. We did have a long wait for the food though in,by then, a very quiet pub. The 2 men had the chicken ,ribs combo and both were happy with portion size and taste. The fish and chips were declared delicious and the special homemade lasagne was tasty but singed and the garlic bread dry. Puddings were enormous but I think the ice cream was poor, the flavours were strange and the chocolate powdery. They ought to go for a local farm made one like Moo Thru at Whitchurch which is something special and would be delicious and would be a good selling point. We had a pleasant meal and the price was competitive. We will definitely be back.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWent for Sunday lunch to celebrate Fathers Day. Had booked well in advance via online booking portal and phoned to check yet on arrival our reservation had not been put into days diary. A table was found for us however, but not a good start. All staff were polite and attentive, our Roast Beef was delicious, and fish and chips very tasty. We ordered dessert and I chose warm chocolate brownie but when it arrived it was cold, I asked for it to be checked it came back with an apology but wasn’t too much warmer to be honest. Overall a nice meal just a few details spoilt the visit
