Our first visit to the Water Rat since it’s refurbishment, we were pleasantly surprised as the decor is excellent with very pleasant seating areas outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and found the portions very generous! The young staff are polite and eager to please. We will certainly return very soon and have recommended it to our friends.

Great continental breakfast with an ample choice of cereals, white and brown bread for toast, strawberries, blueberries and bananas, creamy yoghourts and lovely latte coffee. Certainly the best place for breakfast, unless you prefer the cooked breakfast option. The evening meal with the set menu didn't have the choice that we expected on the Friday night that we stayed, which was a bit disappointing.

We decided to do the dinner, bed and breakfast package as a celebration for our Wedding anniversary. We could not believe the quality of the food, I had the salmon dish to start followed by the lamb. I can honestly say this is the best meal we have had since visiting Glynn Purnell's Michelin star restaurant a couple of years ago. Can't recommend highly enough. A very enjoyable overnight stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was exquisite, reasonably priced and served incredibly quick. Will eat here many times in the future.

Came for a meal here whilst visiting the area. Chose this because it was dog friendly. The food was absolutely superb. Well presented, tasty and a good choice. If I lived locally this would be a regular place to come. Can't praise highly enough!

The food was amaizng, The service was ok and they did forget the drinks. Overall it was a good meal and the waitress was very polite

First meal out since lockdown so we were a bit concerned on how things would be with all the measures in place but there really is nothing to worry about. Hand sanitiser a plenty, staff wearing face masks and screens up at the bar. Anyway on to the meal which was absolutely faultless, duck terrine and pigeon to start with followed by lamb and duck. All of which wouldn't be out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant, hats off to the chef. With a great selection of wine to choose from all at very reasonable prices to pair with the food this really is a great place to dine for quiet a night out away from the "norm". Will certainly be going again very soo.

Superb food- roast beef, roast pork loin, vanilla custard to die for - excellent staff, lovely atmosphere! Truly five star!

Excellent. We had a fabulous meal, good choice, great food, pleasant,friendly and professional staff. Very good surroundings, coved measures in place and We would definitely choose to return.

Visited on the 25th August, it was the first time since it has been refurbished And it didn’t disappoint food was excellent and service was very good Overall it was a very pleasant and lovely evening We will definitely be going back

Food was okay not brilliant, fish overcooked, overall an expensive lunch, staff were very good it has to be said.

Visited Ironbridge for the day and had a great Sunday lunch. The beef was excellent, nice and pink, delicious

Enjoyed one of our first lunches out since lockdown. Environmental felt safe, good food, attentive staff.

Made a booking on line, and arrived at the correct time and date to be told there was no booking I had no evidence, with me, however I received an e mail yesterday asking me for my review which proves I had booked on line as I did not give my e mail address on arrival just my phone number for book and Trace, so the online booking system needs looking at. That aside the chap fitted us in as long as we cleared off by a certain time which was no problem. We both enjoyed our meals the food and service was excellent, shame it was slightly soured by the booking hassle. I would come again though and we were eventually told we could stay longer as they had lost a booking.

Have eaten here several times, over the past few years. As usual, excellent food, from a nicely varied, but not overly complex, menu. Service level just right and not too intrusive.

My friend and I had lunch on Thursday 20 August at this lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was my friend’s first visit, and she was very impressed. Not only with the general ambience and appearance of the restaurant, but with the choice on the menu.

We booked a table a couple of weeks ago and visited this Tuesday. Very impressed with the layout of the pub. We were taken to our table which was a table for 2 right by the bar but it was very close to the next table of 4 so asked if we could move as sun streaming the window and table very wobbly. We eventually moved tables, food was lovely and well presented. All staff wearing face coverings which made you feel more comfortable. I think as they were busy they needed more staff, as they were working flat out. All in all very nice and we will definitely be revisiting

We booked in the restaurant and an overnight stay. The meal was fabulous. Fine dining at it’s best and good value for money. All four of us really enjoyed it.
