Water Rat – IronbridgeMy second visit to The Water Rat. First time with friends and this time with my husband. I have to say the first visit the food was excellent and the second visit was almost as good, just the crumble i had for dessert was burnt. The service was good and we felt safe what with the current situation. I would recommend to friends and would eat there again.
Water Rat – IronbridgeThe staff were friendly and helpful, the food was absolutely lovely. (We have eaten here before and it was excellent then but it’s moved on a level since then). The atmosphere was relaxed. Definitely recommend, we will be back!
The White Hart – IronbridgeThis was our first visit to The Water Rat and the place appeared to be adhering to the COVID government rules and regulations well. On arrival we had our table pointed out to us and we had to make our own way thorough the restaurant. Unfortunately, the table was only set up for 2 when the booking was made for 3. We had to ask for another set of cutlery when ordering our drinks. I chose soup as a starter which on this occasion was tomato, roasted red pepper and pesto, it did not mention on the menu that it contained a large amount of chilli and, therefore, I was unable to eat it (my daughter enjoyed it on my behalf), I think it should have been mentioned on the menu as I have an intolerance and chose soup as a safe bet. The main courses were enjoyed by all of us but unfortunately my husband was unable to finish off his meal with cheese and biscuits as they had run out of biscuits so had to make do with an unset lemon posset. My daughter requested to exchange the banana ice cream for vanilla with her treacle tart and although the waitress said this would not be a problem it had not been changed when the dessert arrived. At no time were we asked if everything had been ok with our meals and the very young staff on the night did seem unexperienced and lacked some personality. Overall we were a little disappointed as we had high expectations after reading other reviews.
Water Rat – IronbridgeOne of the best Sunday lunch’s I have had (apart my wives) excellent service and stringent Covid measures.
Water Rat – IronbridgeThis was the best restaurant experience we have had since the Covid restrictions were put in place. Checking in was slick and placement of tables including Perspex screen, face coverings worn by staff gave a relaxed feeling of protection whilst retaining the restaurant atmosphere. Staff were attentive and friendly and getting used to identifying table service requirements of customers. Great menu superbly presented by the chef wine choice was varied and reasonably priced. We had a great experience and look forward to returning soon.
The White Hart – IronbridgeMy partner and myself ate with you on 24th September and we had a lovely meal with excellent service, we have eaten out a few time’s in the past two months and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had, very relaxed but following all the rules and regulations exceptionally well. The team working were very helpful and professional.... well done all of you and thank you.
Water Rat – IronbridgeGreat pub, lovely atmosphere. Service was prompt and courteous and food was delicious and good value for money. Would be nice to see more than one option for vegetarians and a vegan option would be food too so I could eat here with my whole family. Will definitely be back.
The White Hart – IronbridgeA wonderful meal and a real treat to have such an excellent dinner. The menu was imaginative, every dish well executed and beautifully presented. The staff were charming and professional.
The White Hart – IronbridgeVisited on 23/09 with friends, had a lovely meal, little tapas dishes very all very good, staff friendly and adhered to the Covid safety guidelines, look to retuning soon.
Water Rat – IronbridgeA lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the menu was varied, with plenty of options. The food was amazing, so much so we had 3 courses! Great service from the staff, we felt relaxed and never rushed. Would definitely recommend.
The White Hart – IronbridgeExcellent attention to dietary requirements and a lovely atmosphere. Staff coping really well during Covid crisis. Would highly recommend this place.
The White Hart – IronbridgeOur first visit since refurbishment to celebrate my husband and a friends birthday. The environment was exceedingly clean and had a good ambiance. Given the current government guidelines we all felt safe. Our starters and main courses were excellent, great quality. The only thing for us on the night if we were being critical, were the puddings; the lemon posset didn’t appear set and the crumble was ‘different’ according to my husband and fellow diner, my chocolate brownie on the other hand was deliciously light! The service was excellent, we were attentively served and the waitress had a great sense of humour. In fact all the staff we came into contact with were efficient and friendly. I will definitely return it’s a hidden little gem in Ironbridge,
Water Rat – IronbridgeA lovely experience. Good, friendly and knowledgeable service - no having to go back to the kitchen to answer my enquiries on ingredients, Food well presented, tasty and with odd little pleasurable twists. Loved it.
The White Hart – IronbridgeLee and his did it again, excellent, lovely table in the sun view of the garden , service sharp polite and with a smile, food , excellent, cant wait to get back , loved it.
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe had booked but the service was very slow and it took too long for us to order our food and over an hour before our starters came. The starters were excellent when we finally got them but the fish in two of our main courses were overcooked
Water Rat – IronbridgeAmazing meal to complete our special engagement. They managed to also let my brother order us some champagne over the phone as a surprise as well! Simple but manageable social distancing in place to ensure safety. Was very surprised at quality of the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed!
The White Hart – IronbridgeWe visited for lunch mid week and decided to eat by the river outside, the barman was very pleasant. However, the sandwiches came without any cutlery or napkins which was difficult to eat a side salad and wipe our hands. Service needs to improve next time or I will be making a complaint.
