Wynnstay Arms Hotel – OswestryJust found this site ... must say have been to this place several times now and each time the service and food has been exceptional. Can get busy so if you are in a big group maybe better to book, although they will do there best to fit you in.
Blue Elephant Contemporary Indian Cuisine – TelfordFirst time there today. The restaurant is closed in the day but you can still select from the menu and eat in the bar. Food was really nice and there is a nice friendly atmosphere. Although we never had the lite bites there were plenty that did and by the size of the portions I would recommend you trying the bar meals (lite bites) too, they looked yummy and big portions of chips. We will be back to try them out.
Golden Ball – TelfordWould recommend The Meadow Inn to anyone, food and hospitality is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for staff, very clean.
The Meadow Inn – TelfordWent to the Boot Inn Friday 8th (Jan). Food was delicious service at the table was polite and attentive. Only one complaint the landlady (I think she was) behind the bar was quite abrupt when she spoke to us and ignored us on arrival in favour of talking to one of her mates!! Apart from that great night out.
The Boot Inn – LudlowI visited the Dilraz for the first time this friday and was completely blown away by the quality of the food offered. Excellent starters and main courses both with delicate sublte flavours this being especially good for a hot curry like the Ceylon, good contemporary surroundings and presentation throughout. My advice is go and visit this restaurant yourself and you will not be disappointed either .. =D
Dilraz Eastern Experience – BridgnorthWent there last Tuesday (in the snow) what a wonderful pub, the food was superb the atmosphere cosy and welcoming. *****
The Boot Inn – Ludlowfirst rate food and service. menu varied and interesting. food first rate and cooked to perfection. Small venue, giving very attentive service.Make you feel they enjoy serving you and want to please. comfortable, clean,we have our own list of where to eat. this is worth being in the special event list however cost allows regular visits. Would recommend without hesitation.
The Cottage Restaurant At Ternhill Farmhouse – Market DraytonI ate at the boot recently and found the food to be excellent, apparently they have a new chef and i have to say he is first class, i shall definitely be returning very soon. I would strongly recommend a visit
The Boot Inn – LudlowHad home delivery takeaway..live about 1 mile away..food was luke warm to cold on arrival..popadoms were soggy..paid over the odds for it..never again!!!
Dilraz Eastern Experience – BridgnorthLovely traditional English pub - simple but well executed pub fayre and excellent value for money. Very welcoming staff (and locals!), a wonderful place to spend an afternoon/evening - especially when the sun is shining...you can sit overlooking the River Severn.
Black Swan – TelfordOverpriced, poor service, mediocre food. Other much better restaurants in the vicinity.
Pondicherry – TelfordThis is a great pub - quality cask, a good choice of lagers, ciders and some decent wines too. Not too expensive, friendly atmosphere. Traditional pub food served daily til 9pm. Quiz, live music, horse racing events etc. Highly recommended!
Wheatsheaf Inn – ShifnalGreat food. Really, really good Pathia!
Dilraz Eastern Experience – BridgnorthThe Brewery Inn meets the needs of locals and tourists, who are searching for a refreshing drink, quick snack or an unfussy meal in a friendly family pub. It is a value-for-money pub providing freshly prepared and cooked to order food. There is an extensive menu ranging from sandwiches and jacket potatoes to lasagna, scampi and steak. There are also many vegetarian options. Well behaved children are always welcome, with a large range of food and drink available for them. The Brewery Inn has a pleasant lounge bar that seats up to 80 people. There is also an enclosed riverside patio area, easily seating 40 people, that is always popular in the summer. It provides outstanding views of the River Severn.
Brewery Inn – TelfordYou will not be disappointed with The Dilraz.Attentive staff, varied menu,we have never had a bad meal. Both takeaway & restaurant are superb.
Dilraz Eastern Experience – BridgnorthTook mum for Mothers day special lunch on Sunday. No-one to greet us in the bar when we arrived. The Barman was missing. When he did come through to our side of the bar we requested soft drinks for the ladies which were poured into huge, ugly "near pint" glasses ( not nice and not necessary for middle aged ladies!) also we were going to request no ice in the soft drinks but were not given the option as the ice was put into the drinks without asking us!. Quite trivial I know but very annoying when dining at an establishment for the first time. We decided to say nothing. Starter - We chose the "Classic Prawn Cocktail". Generous with the prawns, stingy with the lettuce and the sauce was very very bland. One was eating but not enjoying as it was so boring. May I respectfully request that the chef finds another recipe for the cocktail sauce as the one served does not work! Ask anyone from the seventies what a "Classic Prawn Cocktail" should taste like. I'm afraid what we were served was a glass of prawns with 4 shards of lettuce, covered with mayonnaise that had just enough red put into it as to make it dark mayonnaise instead of the punchy, zingy, tangy marie rose sauce that makes a classic Prawn Cocktail. That is what we were all looking forward to and sorry but did not get. Very disappointed with the starter. Main Course - All chose the Shropshire Beef with Yorkshire Pudding. Could not fault the well presented, scrumptious, beautifully tender, melt-in-the mouth Shropshire Beef with the most perfect yorkshire pudding. Yummee! but what on earth happened to the vegetables? After fetching the Roast Beef, Yorkshire pud, Roast potatoes and gravy already plated, we made room on the table for the much anticipated dishes of fresh vegetables which would accompany this gorgeous meal. We were each guessing what fresh vegetables would it be, Cauliflower? Broccolli? Spring Greens? and of course there would be carrot batons or maybe mixed carrots and baby peas? OH DEAR! what came to the table was one small insignificant flat dish with some concoction that once upon a time resembled carrots and swede but this terrible twosome had been so overcooked and mixed together, it was laughable except we were too stunned to laugh! to make matters worse this dish looked as though it had been put into some oven and reheated. YUK. Where were the locally grown green vegetables? where were any vegetables? what was served up to accompany what was otherwise a great main course was an incredibly bad excuse for vegetables that even the most novice public house eaterie would never dream of serving to its customers. Very disappointing. Dessert - Chose the Lime Cheesecake with Raspberry Coolee. Yummee! Beautifully presented, delicious. No complaints at all. Staff - Polite, attentive but not intrusive, Mine Host charming. Atmosphere - Lovely, warm, cosy, inviting,. Overall apart from Starter and vegetables, the group was pleased with lunch at the Navigation. I do hope the managment are not too offended by our comments but are taking notice of them. We eat out several times a month so feel justified in being unqualified food critics. If management take notice then five people will tell another fifty people just how great the food is at the Navigation. Criticism though can put off hundreds of others. You will be pleased to know though that we all agreed that we would visit the Navigation again for a meal and would recommend to friends.
