Friday's lunchtime visit was our first to the Queens Head. We met up with friends from Worcestershire. All four of us were impressed by the prompt and friendly service, but especially the food. We couldn't fault anything.

The Queens Head – OswestryAbsolutely amazing food been here a few times now service and food spot on always definitely recommend
The Smokey Cow – TelfordSuperb Sunday lunch, great value for money and very very tasty. Staff are very efficient and friendly too, will be going back again and would highly recommend - however the amount of customers arriving for Borge lunch and drinks speaks for itself,
The Queens Head – OswestryCame here twice in one week! The food was that good!! The chicken burger and beef brisket are incredible and the halloumi starter is fantastic! The staff are really lovely too.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe come here regularly as a family, and with friends after mountain biking. The food and service is always amazing. Dog-friendly, the kids love it and has a really cosy, friendly atmosphere. Maybe some music playing would add to the atmosphere..? Would happily eat Sunday roast here every week.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely site close to the canal with a comfortable conservatory. Excellent menu all food well cooked and fresh. Also all the staff were great and helped make the meal with our friends so special.
The Queens Head – OswestryMy hubby and i have dined at the Water Rat several times and we like it very much. It has a good calm atmosphere, good service from friendly and attentive staff and good food. We tend to choose from the childrens menu as currently cannot eat full adult portion meals but the childrens meals are really very good .
Water Rat – IronbridgeUnfortunately, we left extremely disappointed. Just a series of little niggles that could be avoided but when you add them up it just creates a poor experience. No wine list, was told they simply have red, white or rose but no explanation of what they are. When asking, the waitress was a little rude and said “I don’t know”. That set the tone as I think she thought we were being awkward so we were met with rudeness for the rest of the evening. Food very average and the wrong side was sent out with my meal.. No one came to check if everything was ok. My husband asked for some mustard which was forgotten about so had to ask twice. Finished plates sat there ages before being taken away however, the waitress proceeded to clean and re-lay an empty table next to us then walked away. No desert menus were offered at all, we sat waiting for a while and decided to leave. Shame as we are local, but definitely won’t be returning.
The Malthouse – TelfordEnjoyed a lovely evening celebrating my daughter’s birthday we were seated in the Snug room which was ideal and everyone was pleased with their meals & staff are very nice and friendly.
The Malthouse – TelfordWe met 3 other couples here for a late lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was friendly and professional. This was our second visit and both times it’s been all you could ask for with regard to quality, service and value. All our party loved it…. We would definitely recommend. Thank you and well done to all at the Queens Head.
The Queens Head – Oswestry5 star!
The Queens Head – OswestryNice location, new menu however and waitresses didn’t know the menu. Ordered Lamb Tacos but got given open Fajitas for some reason and no explanation. The puddings were nice. Good size serving of fries.
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeIf you sit downstairs there is a constant doorbell which tells staff upstairs to come collect food. Which is loud and annoying. We experienced the busy time and it showed with the staff becoming overwhelmed really quickly and waited a long time for food. Our experience wasn’t great and the food was mediocre. Nothing special.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordExcellent meal good service would definitely recommend to those visiting Ironbridge
The White Hart – IronbridgeWould definitely recommend warm welcome, friendly staff, food amazing! Will visit again and such good value for money!
The Malthouse – TelfordNipped out to try Tilley Raven on Tuesday evening. It was really quite (as expected on a Tuesday) but place felt warm and cosy and the service was exceptional. No feeble attempt just because we were the only diners on arrival which was really appreciated. Our server was pleasent and went the extra mile. The chef (who we later found out was the trainee) made some wonderful food for us to the point we assumed he was the main chef (we'll be back to try his food). The only odd bit was the desert. My chocolate tart was served warm (so the chocolate melted) and my daughters sundae was actually two scoops of ice cream in a bowl... still, both tasted lovely. Would recommend going here if you're fairly local. We drove over from Dudleston. Good to know we have another nice pub within an easy drive.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWas really disappointed got there wasn’t told there would be a wait had to wait 1 hour 30 mins then food wasn’t the best won’t be visiting again
