Food, my choice was great, my friends found the portions small and a little greasy. Yes it was a very cold day (outside) but it was very cold inside also. Where I sat, the floor flexed up and down every time staff passed by on the way to the kitchen. Paying the bill, we always round up the total, which we said to the waiter, he did not point out that a tip had already been added. We had to ask where my starter was ! Based on the table opposite who came well after us, had their meals. The beer was first class.
The White Hart – IronbridgeWe visited as a family of 6 adults and 2 small children. We struggle to find places to eat that a nice but child friendly but at The Smokey Cow they were very welcoming. Friendly staff who gave fab recommendations on food. Food was amazing and huge portions! Didn’t have to wait too long for food either which is a bonus! Have been 3 times now and all times have been fab! Would definitely recommend and will be back!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFood was good however the pub was very cold. Also, the service was incredibly slow, it was almost 3 hours between us ordering food and finishing it. This is nothing to with the staff serving, but that there were only 2 staff serving the whole pub (including the bar) was ridiculous. We wouldn’t go back.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordBeckbury bell ringers Xmas dinner. We were a party of 12 on a Tuesday night and were the only people in the pub. They had agreed to provide the Sunday dinner menu and the food was good and it was an enjoyable evening together. I had the brisket and it was lovely and tender. Being the only people in, the atmosphere was not "great" but the big advantage was that we could easily talk - the pub is normally noisy with little soft furnishings to soften the sound which makes it very difficult for us older generation to hear properly.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordMet by the barman who was friendly and showed us to our table. Initially, pub was very quiet. Food ordered, and not much wait before it arrived. Excellent quality and decent quantity. Could have done with the plates themselves being warmer, but a small gripe, given that the food was very good. Wine (Merlot) also very nice - shame I was driving. I didn't have dessert, but my partner and my mother did and both enjoyed (apple crumble). All served by an attentive, pleasant young lady. Pub did fill up a bit, but not busy - to be expected I think given it was mid January. Bill arrived, and for 3 people I thought very good value for money . I will visit again.
The Last Inn – NewportTable for 26… everyone spoke of how great the food and service was. The team were fab, nothing was too much trouble. The regulars were lovely too !!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe held a hen meal here and the food was great the service was amazing. Staff checked in on drinks regularly overall everyone was very happy with the food and service provided at the malthouse.
The Malthouse – TelfordFabulous evening with charming service and great food (and espresso martinis)
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeWe had a lovely steak at the Malthouse, service was fab, friendly, and not in your face, we had an enjoyable evening, thanks guys
The Malthouse – TelfordExcellent meal as always, would highly recommend.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAmazing Food, waited nearly an hour but restaurant was very busy so it’s understandable. Service was great and staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend. Wife commented on the fish, she said it was the best fish she’d ever had. Not too badly priced either.
The Malthouse – TelfordOrdered 2 meals, one meal was fine but the 2nd meal was accompanied with cold vegetables which we sent back. After the first meal was consumed, the 2nd meal complete with hot vegetables arrived, so both ate alone. You would have thought that as the place was virtually empty they could at least provide 2 hot meals. Given 10% discount on the price of the cold meal only. Very disappointing, what a shame as it has been a while since we visited and expected it to be nice.
The Last Inn – NewportNew-years eve , food as always "excellent " Only down side booked table over phone to request specific area to sit , booked but when double checked 3 weeks later no booking found , new booking via on line with same request this time confirmed by text . Made a visit two days before booking whilst have food and drink ,booking was confirmed yet again ,day of booking totally different table right at the back of the restaurant, no attempt was made by manager even thro what I booked was confirmed via text and in person Spoilt part of the evening .
The Last Inn – NewportWe booked a table at the Malthouse for New Years Eve. It was busy and all the staff were excellent and well organised. The service was also very good and we were happy to tip the waiting staff. We had the Fillet Steak Beef Wellington main course which at £25 was good value. The refurbed dining room standard is great as is the wonderful location by the Severn. I also found the quality of beer excellent. A perfect combination for our new year celebrations. Well done everyone that worked on New Years Eve. You worked hard during unsocial hours whilst all us others were out having a good time. Thank you.
The Malthouse – TelfordLovely country pub, but a bit chilly told central heating wasn’t working but radiator was on in the gents toilet so nice and warm in there, but not in the restaurant. We ordered a Sunday roast which was served within good time and glad to say we were not disappointed very nice, followed by delicious dessert even though the custard was a bit luke warm would of preferred it be hotter but not a deal breaker and will definitely be returning.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyGreat experience
The Malthouse – TelfordWanted a margarita but didn't have the constituents to make one, not a great start. Replacement cocktails were far too sweet to the point of being undrinkable. Had beef, chicken and pork . Chicken was bland and under seasoned. Two out of three I guess is acceptable.
