The Malthouse – TelfordHad a lovely meal at the Bull on Wednesday night, it was a last minute decision but very glad that we did. The meal was extremely good in both quality and value. We will return for another meal very soon l.
The Bull – ShrewsburySpot on! Top mixed grill, service was great, nice clean restaurant. Will be back again soon.
The Bull – ShrewsburyNo Sunday dinner available. We had a wrong order taker and we had a little baby so food come out at different times. The baby changing facilities were dirty. No bin to depose of anything. Will not be returning.
The Malthouse – TelfordWe tried this place for the first time yesterday and we're really looking forward to it as Google reviews looked promising! We both had a pork roast dinner. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as other places we've been. The veg was hard, I think we both had only one or two florets of cauliflower cheese and the pork was sparse! On the menu, it said the pork came with crackling, sausage, stuffing. So we both presumed there would be a sausage on the plate as well (as there was a comma between the items listed). I asked and they said it was in the stuffing but the menu read as if it was an individual item. This should maybe be changed. Also, my partner has to ask for the crackling. To top it off (I know this was just unfortunate) but there was a dead daddy long legs inside my yorkshire pud!!! Which you had to pay £2.50 extra for!! It was replaced but still. Really sad to say but we won't be returning. We'd normally stay somewhere for a pudding but we just didn't feel the main was good enough to warrant spending extra money on dessert too!
The Last Inn – NewportAbsolutely lovely food. Very busy so food too awhile however service was great throughout. Apologetic and offered free drinks for the wait. Cant fault the staff, such a lovely place with wonderful staff. And honestly amazing food!!!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordI have such mixed feelings about The Malthouse. The staff seem to be inexperienced and the level of service received has never been that great. On two occasions have visited on a Sunday, told there are no roast dinners left and then watched another table arrive later, presented with a Sunday menu and then served a Sunday dinner. The only saving grace with the place is the quality of the food, it is actually really good. The steaks are delicious, cooked to perfection. If the level of service was upped, I wouldn’t ever think twice about coming here again.
The Malthouse – TelfordI’m a tough critic, but I love that I stumbled across this place! Been here a couple of times now but I need to leave a review because the last time we came we weren’t exactly the easiest of guests… let me explain. My grandparents can’t eat a lot due to health reasons and I know sometimes restaurants / pubs are funny about adults ordering off the kids menu. The Last Inn and their staff accommodated our party so well and made my grandparents feel normal. My Nan actually suffers with high anxiety and struggles to get out the house, but the team gave us a quiet table in one of the booths away from a large party which was kind. We also had the dog with us and they’re so good with dogs here and yet the restaurant is kept so clean and has lovely decor. It’s not for everyone, but we asked if it was okay if my little Cockapoo sat in the booth next to us (on her blanket) and the lady serving us said of course. To top off the whole experience, the food was exceptional. Best we’ve had for a long long time. Thank you, we will definitely be back (if you’ll have us!) x
The Last Inn – NewportMy wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch on Saturday lunchtime. Everything was excellent - welcome, service , food quality and price, ambience. The provision of a parking space for disabled customers is the only improvement we could suggest.
The Tilley Raven – Shrewsbury5 star!
The Bull – Shrewsbury2nd time visiting this venue when in the area was left a little disappointed this time with the quality of the food ordered the braised beef this was cooked ok bit on the dry side and lacked any flavour pork belly was stringy and the skin was limp this was mentioned and was took off the bill to be fair honey cheesecake ok
The White Hart – IronbridgeWhat an amazing evening we had, seated my friendly staff near the kitchen and we were getting food envy instantly. We chose the Pitmaster for two and it was delicious, we didn’t think we would finish it as we also ordered 3 sides for £10 but we pretty much did - so good much better than other companies we’ve had similar food from. Our 8yr old went for 3 courses for £9.95 and he said it was all delicious and the pigs in blankets for his starter was amazing the size of them & taste. The drinks were reasonable and very nice selection. I had the banana split for dessert and its the best dessert I’ve had in years. We weren't aware live music was on every friday evening & last nights was so good. Megan Tia what a surprise, her voice was fab and we loved her setlist - ending up staying never 3 hours for our evening. We cant wait to go back and try their sunday lunch now!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAmazing first time experience. Food was fantastic, service was great.
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeGreat Saturday night, atmosphere was amazing with the great live music and food to match, great pub! Thanks for lovely evening.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordVisited for a theme night. Amazing atmosphere, decorations and staff dressed up , above an beyond. Not just a meal but a whole experience. Food was superb, staff was amazing and attentive, all beit maybe too attentive. But not gonna criticise great service! Will definitely be back and recommending to all! Well done The Bull
The Bull – ShrewsburyExcellent service and tasty food - we'll hopefully be back next year for Ironbridge Regatta celebrations - thank you!
Water Rat – IronbridgeOn entering we were greeted by a friendly staff member who took us to our table. She returned to ask if we wanted drinks and when our friends arrived she took their order too. We didn’t have to wait long for our meals which were lovely I cannot change the slider bars to what I would mark, I would mark the food 4, service 5. Rest okay
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordHad another excellent meal at the weekend. Been here several times and the food never disappoints. Staff are very attentive and service is to a high standard, but see my one gripe at the end. The location is in a very quiet village so sitting outside on a fine day is very pleasant. There is a play area for the kids and plenty of parking. The whole pub, inside and out, welcomes dogs so you can bring the whole family and, being rural, there are plenty of walks for Fido. If you have not been before or, if you haven't been since its time as The Seven Stars, then I recommend you pay a visit. Booking a table on the website is really easy and can be done just before you plan to visit so don't worry if it's a last minute decision. Now the gripe; I've not noticed this before so maybe I've tipped the staff with cash. I asked to add the tip by adding it to the credit card payment and was told that they didn't do that. Instead I was given a barcode that linked to a website called Tipjar. This means that to tip the staff I have to pay a fee to a third party. In my opinion, whoever thought this was a good idea is out of their tree. I want the whole tip to go to the staff not be shared with some company that merely provides a tipping service. I eat out a lot and I don't know any other business that uses Tipjar. If anything, the tipping options are preset in the credit card terminal for me to accept or reject. Tipjar can only reduce the amount of the tip sent to the server as it is adjusted to account for the fee. I won't be using the service again. Do your staff a favour and dump this service. Rant over.
