5 of us attended the Water Rat for a Father’s Day meal, as per my scores everything was great and the service we really couldn’t fault. The Oreo dessert was a recommendation by one of the staff members and it didn’t disappoint, our only criticism would be that the roasts didn’t have enough veg and roast potatoes.

The food was ok. Nachos and chicken strips were superb but the ribs were tough and the brisket and pulled pork on the ultimate burger was very dry I’d come back as the service was friendly and the food was a good price point Also good selection of ales A few tweaks and it could become a regular eating place for me

Food was absolutely lovely and will definitely return. Just two issues we had was a few items on the menu were not available. The service was very slow which is no reflect on the waitress as she was lovely and helpful but it was severely understaffed. She was the only member of staff we saw so can only presume she was there on her own. We visited a Thursday lunchtime so it wasn’t very busy at all but more staff are definitely needed.

My family and I came along over half term for an evening meal, we found the staff to be friendly and attentive and the food was ok, however I felt the prices were very expensive for pub food. We really wanted ribs but they were unavailable so we opted for beef and burger instead. Our daughter chose Mac and cheese which was very dry and tasteless. On the whole, it was ok as we were on holiday but I think twice before returning.
