Visited for a Mother's Day dinner. Absolutely outstanding. Great venue with exceptional service. The food was presented in exquisite fashion and tasted as good as it looked. Thanks for providing a fine experience for the mummy on our table.

Was a little disappointed. Steak was cooked medium rare as requested but...it was very, very chewy. Also my wife's pork belly was a small portion, hardly any meat , there was more cracking and fat than actual meat.

Had a wonderful lunch at The White Hart on Saturday . It was an early Mother’s Day lunch since you were fully booked for today ( our fault for not booking earlier ). The staff were charming and professional. The food was good ( but I ordered whitebait - and it was not what I had before - more like fish fingers smothered in sauce) however, the rest of the food was just beautiful and we had a really good meal and experience . Fantastic service yet again, food was beautiful, our party of 8 had different food choices and all were great, Atmosphere was lovely Staff all very friendly 1000% recommended

Took clients from overseas here for dinner recently. Being used to good food they are harsh critics, but were highly impressed! Food excellent, nice ambience, waiters and bar staff couldn’t do enough for us. Will be sure to return in future. Many thanks!

Booked a table for me and a friend, when we arrived we stated this but got told abruptly to just choose a table. We were told it was table service and someone would bring a menu over but after 10 minutes no one had, so my friend went and got one herself. We then proceeded to sit there for quite a while before the waitress decided to come over for a drinks order. The food was lovely. However, the service really lets this place down. No one came to check up on our food, we weren’t offered any other drinks or deserts despite us being told it was table service and we weren’t able to order from the bar! We eventually managed to get someone’s attention for the bill but the same waitress proceeded to walk past us multiple times before bringing it over and then again for us to pay, so it took around 15 mins for us to receive and pay our bill. Overall, the food was good but service really let it down. We were disappointed.

The service was fine to begin with but as it got busier the service got much worse. We waited an hour after we had finished our meal to have our table cleared. In the end we did it ourselves. The food portions were a bit small, but the flavour of the pork belly and the calamari were incredible. Absolutley delicious. The batter on the onion rings and haddock was gloopy and not crispy at all, but because we could get to speak to anyone as they got busy, we couldn’t be bothered to complain. Over all it was lovely, just need to quality check the onion rings next time I go xx

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal here. The atmosphere was great, food was well presented and tasted delicious. Will definitely return and would recommend dining here.

The Smokey Cow is a lovely restaurant inside and all members of staff are so lovely and helpful. My starter was lovely but unfortunately my main was very bland. I had never had a chicken burger so tasteless. My other half enjoyed his beef burger so maybe avoid chicken products here. I would visit again and choose something else on the menu. We had to wait a while for our starters to arrive but mains came quickly after we finished our starters.

We decided to go out for Sunday lunch and, having had lovely meals at the Malthouse before, decided to book a table. We were very disappointed to arrive at 3.30, our normal time, only to be told that they had no Sunday lunches left at all. It was a lovely day, but they didn’t seem that busy, so I’m not sure why this was the case. We chose from their normal menu, my husband had a Malthouse burger and I had beef lasagne. I can only say that my lasagne was the worst I have ever had. Three sheets of pasta, drowned in passata and beshamel sauce, with a teaspoon of mince does not constitute a tasty meal, believe you me. As a local, not a tourist, I expect far better from them. Another local couple who arrived after us, were given Sunday lunch menus, only to be told when they came to order, that they weren’t available. No apology was given. They were furious and walked out. After the meal I had, I wish that I had walked out too. It certainly wasn’t worth £12.50. It will be a while before I go there again.

The food was delicious but the service was very slow considering we where the only people dining at that time. The waitresses was friendly but a little slow asking for drinks, bringing menus etc and there where three behind the bar too.

Had a great overnight stay and wonderful meal. Bring back the Bharji Burger ..Food excellent service fantastic. 2 great members of staff on.

Went for the Saturday Fish Night and had a really lovely meal, served in a friendly and professional manner and in welcoming surroundings. Great quality and good value, with some interesting dishes on offer both on the specials and everyday menu. We will be going back for sure. It is a pity though that it's so quiet - only 4 tables taken on a Saturday night when we were there - they deserve much more. Hopefully they can regain their deserved reputation and get more support from the village and nearby residents. We will certainly be spreading the word!

Probably the best Sunday Roast we have ever had. We were served a very generous portion of roast pork and an array of vegetables that were so tasty we could have happily been served just those with the delicious gravy. But the absolute cherry on the cake was the pork crackling. The staff were friendly and welcoming and service was quick. They accommodated our children by providing colouring pages & crayons and even displayed the children’s art on the wall.
