The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordHands down one of the best, if not the best Sunday Roasts we have had. Beautiful pub, great staff, what more do you want. I only wish it was our local.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyFood was amazing! Great staff, really looked after us. Would def recommend the beef roast
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordHad a great relaxing night no one rushing you for your table back, staff really helpful , good food, drinks and music to top it all, will definitely return , thanks for a lovely evening
The Smokey Cow – Telforda very strange menu which is too fragmented - the fusion style does not work. the service was excellent but the food was not good. The server advised my husband that the buffalo chicken wings were spicy which was fine but there is spicy and inedible - these were inedible. Then my husbands main course - the slow cooked pork belly was just awful... the fat layers had not melted and there were whole pieces of thick fat that were just disgusting. The mustard mash was claggy and very little sauce - just a really bad plate of food and £16 for a bad plate of food is really annoying! My starter was ok - calamari was crispy and tasty. My main was nice - chicken chasseur but my dessert was not good. Lemon Lime cheesecake with a base so hard that I could not cut through it with the spoon and had to use a knife to break the base.... overall £60 for a meal which was REALLY disappointing!
The Malthouse – TelfordWe booked a table of 12 for an evening meal, the food was fantastic, everyone enjoyed all 3 courses. Lovely atmosphere and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. 2 diners ordered sea bass which was advertised with a spring roll. One asked if the spring roll was veggie when ordering and told it was. Then it didn’t arrive on the plate and the waiter said he would go and get one or knock something off the bill. We were then told that it shouldn’t of been on the menu so not available and no discount. For such a large bill, a token something would have been nice. However, it was a lovely evening and I would return again and recommend.
The White Hart – IronbridgeOur food on Saturday evening was excellent, however, because it was so busy, we ordered drinks which didn’t arrive and were added to the bill. There was also a random serving of fries added to the bill, which we hadn’t ordered or received- not a deal breaker, we will return. The music man was a bonus- great sound, finished the evening off nicely. Thank you.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordArrived early at 7.10pm for a 7.30 reservation. Got taken to our table within 2 mins. Took drink order at 7.15pm took 15 mins to arrive. Food order taken at 7.30pm and food arrived at 8.10pm. There were plenty of staff on and the restaurant wasn’t full. Food was ok. Plates were cold so the meat element of my meal was only Luke warm. Got asked by the waitress if we needed sauce, we asked for mayonnaise which never showed up!!! Never got asked if we wanted more drinks. Waited 15 mins after finishing our meal and no service so didn’t order pudding. I waited another few minutes and went to the bar to pay. All the waiting staff looked very young and there was distinct lack of management. Overall it was a disappointing meal, the food could of been better, the service was slow and poor. There was a live singer on who was so loud we had to raise our voices to talk to each other. You don’t need a loud mic and the amp turned up full in such a small setting. We have been visiting this establishment for a drink in the beer garden over the last few years. ( The service is always slow) It’s a shame as it’s a nice looking pub with a good menu. We won’t be visiting for a meal again soon.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordOverall a good experience was a very loud atmosphere on arrival a lot of people speaking loudly to be heard over the other tables. Once the singer started everyone seemed to quite down the singer was great a nice change to just music over speakers. The starter was incredible unfortunately my partner was disappointed with the items that were unavailable that we weren’t made aware of until ordering. A few ingredients seemed to be missing off the starters as listed on the Menu but didn’t effect the overall starter tasted amazing! We waited for about an hour between starters to mains which seemed abit of a long time I understand it was busy due to a few larger tables and being valentines weekend but we arrived at half 7 got our starters 45 minutes after arrival and got our mains at just gone 9pm. The one member of staff we spoke to was really friendly and chatty who took our order she was great and was having a laugh with us.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordVery good food, friendly staff, good service. Value for money was extremely good
The Malthouse – TelfordFabulous food, no surprise it always is. Menu changes on a regular basis so there's always something different to try. Great staff, very attentive, lovely atmosphere.
The White Hart – IronbridgeEight of us ate Sunday Lunch at the Smokey Cow. On the whole the food was good. We skipped starters and went for mains. My chicken, ham and leek pie was perfect. Decent portions and very tasty. My wife had a large 1/2 chicken, which was also spot on. However, my daughter was disappointed by her steak (@£24.50) which she said was a bit dry. The desserts were good, but my chocolate orange tart was a bit dry and looked like it was bought in and defrosted - not made on site. One amusing thing was the waitress, who admitted to a lack of knowledge of the wine list and insisted on calling sauvignon blanc, sow vin blank. We may go again, as the menu had other items we'd like to try.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordSaturday lunch with friends. Food was excellent, staff efficient and friendly. Lovely then to relax in front of fire on cozy settees. Also dog friendly Would recommend
The White Hart – IronbridgeThird visit to the swan. Food as usual was delicious. Was a few hiccups on the orders when served, items missing but were quicky resolved after pointing out to staff. Atmosphere was pleasant as always.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordGreat meal in a lovely location with good service. Only issue was that the room temperature was a bit too cool. Had to wear coats inside!
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordMy daughter and myself enjoyed a lovely meal here. We both would highly recommend you give it a try. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place itself is decorated nicely and is kept very clean and tidy x If I could make one suggestion if would be to make the fickles a starter as the are stunning x
