Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonExcellent service, really professional and helpful, and friendly staff. The barman who served us our drinks and took our order was a credit to the business, a real gentleman and professional. We can't remember his name, but I do remember he comes from Manchester. He was a super guy, very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and very good value for money. We really enjoyed it. We will definitely come back the next time we're in Long Preston.
The Maypole – SkiptonSuperb food, wine, ambience. Reasonably priced. Scallop starter would be hard to beat.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonGreat restaurant. The owner/manager was really nice and friendly he even suggested places to visit in the area. The food was delicious. My husband was asked 3 times if he had finished when he hadn’t by the waitress although his knife and fork weren’t together and he was chewing. Other than that full marks!
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonFirst visit, really good food and staff, could not fault any part of it, they will engage any requests you wish, down to earth people, they deserve your support to continue there business, will return when in the area
The Maypole – SkiptonReally nice pub made to feel very welcome and food was lovely
The Maypole – SkiptonLovely evening with great food
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonThis unpretentious restaurant in adapted old buildings actually looked and felt quite French. However the menu was at most only half way there and no-one seemed to speak the language! Fresh dressed crab ‘from Filey’ fully lived up to expectations and the Crapeau was better than it sounds, though the ‘hole’ for the toad was very soggy and a bit rubbery. Friendly and professional young staff, the atmosphere was good, full on a mediocre July Wednesday evening, and overall a pleasant experience and good value.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonSecond visit, very friendly service, good food and drink.
The Maypole – SkiptonLovely roast, turkey and beef. Good atmosphere. Even though busy, served quickly.
The Maypole – SkiptonWe had a wonderful birthday meal here. The staff were attentive and professional. The food was great, obviously a good chef homemade, tasty, rich, different. What a treat. Thank you.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonFood was fab. Service however was very disappointing. After our mains we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu- which we declined. We were then left for over half an hour without any attention. No one asked us if we would like any more drinks or coffee. There was no one about to ask for the bill. We could have literally got up and left and no one would have known whether or not we had paid. We had to go downstairs and ask for the bill. The young gentleman was very apologetic. Hopefully this was an isolated incident.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonDelicious food and friendly approachable and available service in a comfortable environment: we’ve ordered off the specials and the main menus a number of times and never had anything to reproach.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonWe booked a table for our wedding anniversary after having had the most wonderful meal at Le Bistro back in November of last year. There were lots of delicious options to choose from on the starter and main course menu. We settled on the Parma ham and melon with deep fried rocket and also the queenie scallops in a Gruyère cheese sauce for our starters. Both were delicious. For main course I had the seafood money bag with fries and hubby had the pan roasted Yorkshire breast of chicken with mash and French garlic mushroom sauce. Again, both were delicious. We only had enough space left for half a dessert so we opted for tiramisu and two spoons. That was really good too. The service we received was lovely and also attentive without being too intrusive. The downstairs restaurant area was pretty much full - not bad for a Tuesday evening. Can’t wait to go again!
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonAmazing evening, wonderful food and superb service many thanks all
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonThis is an absolutely fantastic restaurant, the food is amazing, the place is spotless but for me, the staff exceedingly polite, only young but brilliant I would have no hesitation in recommending this place.
