Food is lovely and the staff
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsPopped in for a drink while on a dog walk . Atmosphere was lively . Was really nice to see people enjoying themselves and a bit of normality . Will definitely be back .
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsFood was fantastic. The service was great all staff made you feel welcome .
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsBooked table and paid deposit, why I don’t know they didn’t even ask my name, no table reserved, told to find a table, drinks came quite quickly despite the madness, food was nice although ordered chicken off the bone came on the bone, very busy, no track and trace present at all, no covid regulations being adhered to will not return in a hurry, shame as my local and loved going for drinks.
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsHad a Sunday lunch and my husband had a burger all beautiful and tasty definitely be back soon thank you. Also lovely staff .
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsI don’t know if we just picked a bad time but I don’t think I’ll be going back! We got a table with no problems but all the heaters bar 2 weren’t working, so was pretty cold, we ordered drinks, they came pretty quickly, food.... menu has a decent choice but we ordered and waited around 20 mins which isn’t bad, however one us ordered a steak, rare, it was not rare, couldn’t eat it, it was still alive, took 15 minutes to catch someone’s attention to have it cooked a bit longer, not acceptable, it was cold before they took it away and to re-heat it was pretty bad! Chicken Kiev was dry and tasteless, my son is vegan so asked for potatoe skins, they were presented on a plate with 2 types of flavoured mayonnaise (not vegan). The only saving grace us that the staff were lovely!!
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South Shields4 of us were here on Saturday 24th April. The food was really nice, my only complaint was the chicken kiev is served on the bone which the menu definitely does not state and had I known I would of ordered something different. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Even though it was busy the wait between courses or for drinks was reasonable. With the sun shining and music playing it was a really friendly atmosphere. My negative is none of us were asked to use track and trace so I don't think covid rules are being followed as well as they should be.
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsWent here for the first time on the 23rd April. Ordered 6 starters between the 2 of us and some drinks. Every meal was well worth the cost. Food was beautiful. We even asked for a few extra things which wernt mentioned and they were more than happy to help where they could. Staff are very friendly and i would reccomened to try it out. I have also booked again for today bringing family!
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsFabulous food fabulous staff fabulous atmosphere.. can't fault it . Staff are all friendly and attentive.. management are great.. will deffo be back!
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsLovely food with good sized portions and friendly staff. The only criticism was the £6.95 lunch special. There was no mention of this on the menu we had though it is online. We ordered food applicable to the lunch special but paid full price, which admittedly is reasonably priced anyway but that's not the point. Maybe you have to ask for the lunch special which if this is the case isn't very good as makes you feel like a cheapskate. Grumble over, would definitely return anyway as lovely sunny space to eat during the day and the music was fab - a real mix of summery tunes. Service times and food quality were excellent.
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsWent for tea yesterday as a family of 6 for my daughters birthday after school. We really enjoyed our time there. The staff were super friendly, the food was absolutely lush with great portions. The toilets were clean and the play area was an added bonus. It would definitely be a plus for the future if they could add to the play equipment. I think it would be a huge selling point for families. There's more than enough room to seat people without children away from the equipment. My daughter did jump from the swing (her fault) and landed on a paving slab which is kind of hidden in the grass in front of the swing. She got a nasty busted knee and sprained her wrist. Just a word of warning for others with kids. It would be great if they could remove the paving slabs in the grass. All in all we really enjoyed everything and will definitely be back.
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsWe visited on Saturday and it was mega busy! The staff done really well considering, the food was absolutely beautiful and there’s a lovely play area and a bouncy castle up for the children 10/10 from me and will be visiting regularly .
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsBitterly disappointed. We booked a table on Saturday for 4pm. When we arrived we were told we could sit where we wanted. We sat down. We got told to move because that table was booked for a party. We moved (nobody sat there at all for the next two hours). A salt cellar smashed on the floor and my husband mentioned it repeatedly (kids were running about all over in socks.) No one came to clean it up so he had to try and push it out of the way to avoid children getting hurt. We hadn't wanted to sit so close to the little playpark which the kids love as obviously keeping them sitting down is a challenge and it was very busy - you are not sat two metres away from the next person, even if the tables are two metres apart. We also did not get asked to track and trace. Very few people were supervising their children in the play area which while not the fault of the restaurant is something to be aware of. We had ordered our drinks at the first table and they didn't come despite my husband asking repeatedly so we asked again at 4.30 and ordered our meal at the same time. At 4.45 a waiter wandered past, caught sight of my furious face and asked me if I was ok. I said I'd been waiting for my drinks for 45 minutes and his response was "that's bad". That was it. Eventually the drinks came. Food was after 5pm. When you've got two small children obviously this isn't great. The food was lovely however and we enjoyed it. At 5.20 I tried to go to the loo (too busy) and asked a waiter for the bill and a pizza box for our leftover food. I watched the waiter walk about outside for the next twenty minutes before I gave up and walked inside. I had to queue - not socially distanced - to settle my bill for over fifteen minutes. The lady in front of me had to tell the manager what they had had because he didn't have a record. There was a further 4 or 5 people behind me in the queue. When I got to the front I said politely how unhappy I was and that two hours for one course of food and one drink (we were never offered another and every time I tried to catch the attention of the waiter I was ignored). He said they were new and would be better by next week. As an afterthought he said sorry. He then added up the cost of our bill by hand and when I got home I realised we were overcharged by around £7 or £8. I left, angry, disappointed and carrying our leftover pizza wrapped in napkins. I appreciate they'd had difficulties that day - something to do with the gas being switched off and the police attending, but the service was absolutely terrible, COVID rules were not followed and two hours for one course is terrible. We were so disappointed as this was always one of our favourite places to eat and a really horrible experience for our first meal out in however long. At least the food was nice. We are unlikely to return anytime soon.
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsExcellent.
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsWe went for lunch yesterday. The service and food was excellent. We had the lunchtime special £6.95 too much to eat so ended up taking half my pizza home with me. The staff were super friendly, especially what appeared to be the manager/owner. My one criticism was that I felt that the COVID safety could definitely be improved upon. It felt like the tables were a bit close together! (Also Children were climbing over the small wall next to us obviously not the managements fault) However my main problem was that the Manager who was super friendly was NOT wearing a MASK! His response was “don’t worry I’m not wearing a mask because I’ve had my 2 vaccinations” this is not acceptable! He also got too close to people at tables. (I didn’t challenge him and really I should have)
Caesars Den Restaurant and Bar – South ShieldsI thought the chicken supreme really excellent. far better than I expected. Perfectly cooked meat, perfectly charred skin, a gorgeous gratin and the veg al dente . Friendly waitresses and a good Shiraz
The Grill At The Clarion – South ShieldsFive star amazing.
Aurora – South ShieldsWe went for breakfast and it was cold, and when we complained the manager asked if we wanted it REHEATED. What a disgrace.
JD Wetherspoons – The Wouldhave – South ShieldsSunday Lunch: 1 course, £9.95; 2 courses, £12.95; 3 courses, £15.95
