JD Wetherspoons – The Wouldhave – South ShieldsWe have gone to the Star for many years, best for value ,food, and service. Recommend to anyone.
Star Of India – South ShieldsI ate in your restaurant today and was very disappointed, your staff were very miserable and not one had a smile. Our dishes was left on the table for a good 30 minutes before they came to remove them. The staff was just stood at the end of the bar, two were drying cutlery but the rest were just stood gabbing. The food was nice but didn't enjoy it, I felt very uncomfortable x
The Sand Dancer and Crab Shack Kitchen – South ShieldsPity this fish shop feels its so posh ----- given the stench of grease that pollutes the back area and peoples gardens and clothes. total stench. Wouldn't go near the shop.
Singh’s Fish Bar – South Shields“Thai food, South Shields best kept secret!” the Thai chef, serves fantastic home cooking - Thai home cooking! The meals are cooked to order using fresh ingredients, not frozen meals. Service can be a little slow, but always well worth the wait. Don't worry about the how hot the curry is - all meals can be ordered mild, medium, hot and very hot, as all meals are cooked to order. The Maltings is the home of the Jarrow Brewery, which is on the ground floor. The Jarrow ales and guest beers are excellent. The staff offer small samples for you to try, if you are not familiar with the brews. Excellent range of lagers, and not the usual suspects. All in all a cracking place.
The Maltings – South ShieldsI love Storybooks last night we had the chicken New Yorker it was gorgeous. I love the chicken in bacon with bbq sauce. I live in the Stanley area and prefer to go to Storybooks for a meal.
Story Book The – South Shieldsrip off separate prices for times of day wot they don't tell u is that the length of time u are there is how they charge u we got there at 4pm cheaper price end up getting charged $25 foe 2 with a lime and soda and a coke don't ever eat there unless u have money to waste as all they say is read the small print defo better places to eat for value for money and good hospitality and its not this place
Kylin Buffet – South ShieldsThis is a fabulous fish and chip shop which has previously won fish and chip shop of the years award. It now holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. You can be very certain that in this shop you will get quality food and service.
Colmans – South ShieldsExcellent food and surroundings. ***** BEWARE OF THE OUTRAGOUS "CORKAGE" CHARGE. ****** We were charged £15 on a £2.50 bottle of Asdas best.. We were in a party of ten and intended to pay separately but they would not allow this and took 10% of the total bill. My wife and I were the only couple drinking wine. According to the wine guild, if corkage is charged, their waiter should have chilled and poured the wine. OH well you live and learn. the obviously haven't heard of what is morally right. Will not be going back.
Aneesa’s Buffet Restaurant – South ShieldsPlease don't go to ANEESA'S Buffet restaurant if you want to enjoy a drink and eat good food. They charge a bomb and also corkage charges but you are not allowed to stay for more than 2 hours. They manager is rude and he told us about the unmentioned 2 hour rule even though the restaurant was literally empty. The food is the same on all days. A much better option to enjoy good Indian Cuisine is Hedworth Hall on Dean road. They are 4 pounds cheaper and they also have a bar.....cheers people
