The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaDon't mix this great cafe on the promenade that is actually at the Waters Edge with great views across the sea that serves delicious homemade scones, burgers, lasagne etc with the pub of the same name where you have to wait about an hour for food!!! And is no where near the sea.
Water’s Edge Cafe – St. Annes-On-SeaVisited Imli at the weekend for my partners birthday, when I phoned to book they asked if it was for a special occasion. We arrived to find a birthday balloon at the table and after the meal they brought a cake out with a sparkler, very nice touch. The food was beautiful and all 6 of the party thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the waiters were lovely. Would definitely go again.
Imli – St. Annes-On-SeaAn upmarket cafe that sells alcohol. Fresh? - most of the menu arrives in a freezer lorry, including the veg from a few reports that I have heard. Staff obviously trained in the art of laser-beam carving to ensure the company gratifies its shareholders. Unimpressed, though the cask beer was reasonably priced and delicious! Though a definite improvement on the site canteen from when I was a civil servant there!)
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaI have eaten here twice, the food is delicious. Both my husband and I were very impressed. The cakes and ice creams are to die for. The service was also great. We visited on the opening day at teatime and were seated straight away. Staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. Our food arrived quickly and was perfectly cooked.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaWe have just been to this establishment and will not be returning. We ordered our food at 5.40pm and at 7pm we still had not received our mains. We had very poor service from a rude waiter who quite clearly was not happy in his position. When we asked for our money back as we were leaving with our two young grand daughters who were ready for bed after the long wait, we received the wrong amount back and had to ask again for them to rectify their mistake. Very bad experience all round!!!!
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaMy husband and myself have just been to Waters Edge Pub for first time. Have read some bad reviews but can honestly say what we had was very nice. The staff were very nice and helpful .
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaJust been for first time today, not impressed at all! Food was served cold, staff were rude and constantly interrupted conversations, we had only had our meals for 5 mins when a staff member came to our table and said "have you finished"? Not what I expected at all!
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaHi I have recently tried The Water's Edge for the second time since your opening and I need to pass comment on various aspects. The plates at the carver are cold and so by the time that you get to the end of the carvery and back to your table the whole meal is cold. The chips may be freshly made but they are then put through a chipping machine so that there are a lot of 'bits' such as you would find in a bag of cheap frozen chips. Also, why are wheelchair users sated at tables where they have to be lifted up a step when there is plenty of 'level' floor area available?I appreciate that this is early days but would welcome your comments before we pay another visit.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaAre the carvers in training to be skin graft surgeons. Meat was served so thinly. Think this will be a big put off.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaWent for second time to test the same dish for consistency. Had braised steak/onions first time sauce good. Second time meat cold said would do fresh one but piece of meat that had been cut arrived back sauce not the same and it arrived with mushrooms which I don't like and had not been there first time. Chips were hard and query home ones.!!! If standards can't be kept they will soon lose business
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaTried the small carvery, the plates were cold, the gammon was nice but the beef was overcooked and tough, the veggies were all luke warm, roast pots very dry the only thing that was hot was the gravy. Quite a few people complaining. If you have a small appetite, not a lot here for you.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaFinest Sunday lunch. Dine at the Coast restaraunt. This is a great venue for all occasions. The food is top class,.the service is second to none. What more could you ask for?The Glendower Coast restaurant gives you everything you need for a great dining experience.
Coast Brasserie @ The Glendower Hotel – St. Annes-On-SeaDisappointing!! We had the carvery, let's say the thinnest slices of meat I've ever had, like seriously packet ham thin, the beef was really chewy an (old shoe springs to mind), the pork and turkey were both lovely just way too thin, veggies ok but bland .... So to finish we had already seen an amazing pudding counter imagine our disappointment at to be given our gorgeous ice cream in tiny cardboard tubs and a plastic flat spoon, ice-cream was lovely but tiny tiny portions which would have been more enjoyable in a sundae dish or equivalent with a wee bit more to make it feel like I've actually had more than 3 tablespoons of ice-cream which cost just short of £17. The staff need training in customer service and the till attendants couldn't cope with the pudding queue which was mile long..... Place was well decorated and clean but is still only a few weeks old..... Overall I think this place is mediocre/average I won't be rushing back.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaWe looked forward to new pub opening six of us arived to celebrate my birthday, bad move. 40 minuite wait for a table, 40 minute wait for food 6th May. We ordered food sat and waited eventually food arrived almost cold one of our orders a mixed grill was a further 10 minute wait that was also nearly cold. Will try again but it will be a while what a shame.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaFine dining this is not, but if you want cheap and cheerful and reasonably tasty then this place will do. The sweets look deceptively delicious but are actually very disappointing. Staff are friendly but not particularly well trained. You don't take plates away without asking and not when other people at the table are still eating.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaLiving across the road from the Waters Edge, I was really looking forward to trying my new local out and took the family for a meal on Saturday. We arrived at 5.30pm and didn't have to wait for a seat which was a pleasant surprise as the place had been packed since it opened. (you can't book a table) We were ushered to the "family section" to the rear of the restaurant which worked quote well having 2 young children. There is no table service so when you are ready to order, you queue at the bar for drinks and a separate queue for food. No big deal really, until it came to ordering the food only to be told "sorry, the kitchens are closed,, you can only have the carvery" !!I wasn't told this when were seated nor when we ordered drinks and I did ask if I could order a kids meal for my 4 year old but the management decision was a "no" So we ordered the carvery, which when I asked at the till, was one visit for your choice of meats but unlimited returns for veg etc....Meat was OK, beef was a bit tough but the turkey was moist and all the veg tasty enough, but I did want to order off the menu. To my surprise when I returned for more veg, I was told it was 1 visit only and they weren't allowed to give me any more. Apparently the kitchens closed to give them chance to catch up with the rush so I was a little taken aback when, just after I finished, the table behind me were delivered fresh food from the menu (burgers and skewers looked good) We ordered ice cream for the kids which was a single scoop in a cone, yet we had to wait 25 minutes for that ...not acceptable in my eyes. All in all, very disappointing and the rumours were that the staff were having to visit local convenience stores as they had run out kitchen staples / basics. Open too soon? Possibly. Inexperienced staff ? Definitely. Going to give it a try on Sunday and see if I can order off the menu. On a separate note, a great selection of craft and draught ales and very reasonable wine list. We enjoyed a bottle of Malbec for around £15.
The Waters Edge Pub and Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaVery happy with the meal I had at Waters Edge but there was a few problems. Firstly the chef was cleaning the carvery out and eating at the same time, not good practice. Had the duck breast fillet which was perfectly cooked but wasn't offered a steak knife. My partners plate was taken away before I had finished my meal, which you don't do.The same young lady then after finishing our meal was having a drink which was almost finished came to take the glasses before they where empty, think she wanted to go home. Other than that it was a very enjoyable meal.
