Banthai – St. Annes-On-SeaWhat a delight! The service and food in this quaint Thai restaurant were amazing. There were 9 of us dining and we all enjoyed the experience tremendously. Definately worth a visit any night of the week.
Banthai – St. Annes-On-SeaI?e been to Margheritas several times now. Each time I?e had the lunchtime special - 2 courses £5.75 or thereabouts. I have to say that I?e enjoyed every visit. The food is very different from the usual run-of-the-mill Italian. I presume that it is authentic Sicilian food, as the chef, Pasquale Real is from Palermo. OK I? not going to try and remember the exact names of all the dishes I?e tried but the most outstanding I?e had are the following - Spaghetti Bolognese: perfect pasta with a very tasty but light sauce, lovely texture and piping hot just as it should be served. Chicken in a white wine cream and mushroom sauce with rice (can? remember the Italian name): - Oh boy. This is just so beautifully rich, with chicken breast tender yet firm (is that possible), lashings of wonderful full bodied sauce which explodes with flavour and rice, again cooked to perfection; it actually feels like you?e eating something healthy. Rigatoni al Dialvo (I think): - the best Italian dish I ever had; firm chunks of pasta in a chilli sauce with hot salami and cream, words cannot describe the joy of eating this; I recommend garlic bread and plenty of parmesan. Lastly best starters - sounds corny but the garlic mushrooms in béchamel sauce are to die for and the prawns in chilli sauce divine if you can take the heat. The service is fantastic. Very laid back. Very helpful and friendly. No pushiness and you?e never ?old?anything. Wine reasonably priced and generally good stuff (excellent Chianti). You get the feeling you could sit all day and never be hassled. Good atmosphere! Good food! What more do you want? Recommend it to anyone who likes Italian food!
Margherita – St. Annes-On-SeaThe best Thai meal I've had in lovely surroundings, served by the ever smiling Joy in her authentic Thai costume!
Banthai – St. Annes-On-SeaThe meal was enjoyable and the starter duck was tasty. The lamb very tender and a good selection of sweets. All in all a good evening out.
Greens Bistro – St. Annes-On-SeaThe venison on this early bird menu at £9.95 for two courses was very tender and a good selection of cheese & Biscuits to follow. All in all along with the excellent sevice a most enjoyable evening
Dalmeny Hotel – St. Annes-On-SeaThis was are first time at Margheritas and we liked it. We were taken straight to our table, which was a treat compared to another Italian restaurant in the town where you cannot get a seat on a saturday for love nor money. We thought the place was okay, I would have prefered lower lighting and maybe candles on the table. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. We will definately be going back.
Margherita – St. Annes-On-SeaGood burgers and chips, friendly people behind the counter. Yet to try the kebabs or pizza but a good place to pick up for in St. Annes
Atlas – St. Annes-On-SeaWe went on the third night that the Banthai opened ...... WOW its like no other local thai restaurant we have been in, the Decor is superb and the seating is very cosy and private, the thai music they played was not the traditional slow style , but a bit more up beat and exciting, the food could not be faulted, although the portions were large we ate everything and still had room for a few more thai beers, we loved the costumes that our waitresses were wearing, me and my husband have booked a table again for next week .... cant wait .......
Banthai – St. Annes-On-Seai especially liked the duck and the mongolian lamb, delicious.
Peking Inn – St. Annes-On-SeaTop quality pie and chips in nice surroundings in a good location!
Seafarers Restaurant – St. Annes-On-Seai would pay another visit, very nice and friendly place. food was great.
Beach Terrace – St. Annes-On-SeaWe visited Greens after seeing a review on Sugarvine and have to say it is one of the best restaurants we have been to - and as we are in the catering trade it takes a lot to please us!!! From the minute we walked in, we knew it was our kind of place. Not too big, good music at the right level and very friendly staff. There was a set menu at £15 if I remember correctly which had a great choice, but we went for the main menu as we were out celebrating and deserved a treat!!! The wine menu was fabulous, with wines from all over the world which had obviously been picked very carefully. We opted for a Rothschild (white, £18.00) and weren't disappointed. The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked, and each dish was perfectly complimented by its sauces or garnishes. We weren't rushed to finish each course and weren't hounded by the very hospitable staff - a perfect evening!!! We had 2 starters, 2 Mains, 1dessert, 1 cheese platter, 1 coffee, 3 vintage port, 1 bottle of wine and 3 drinks for a very reasonable £80. We will definetely visit again and will certainly reccommend to friends.
Greens Bistro – St. Annes-On-SeaUnderstated efficiency is the key here; you feel so comfortable, it is a great eating experience.
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaA great pub meal at a fantastic price. Four of us dined we had two courses and two drinks each and still got change from £30. The food was tasty and the portions large. The desserts were to die for especially the blueberry pancakes. When we finished we were all satisfied without a big hole in our wallets......it makes you wonder if it is worth going to all these new posh restaurants opening up in the area. Can't fault this restaurant at all!
Trawl Boat Inn – St. Annes-On-SeaI dont live in the area, but I went there during the Open Golf tounament with my husband. It was extremely busy but the food was delicious and the staff very helpful and friendly. I was looking for the Bilash website for my next visit in the area and I`m glad ive found this site. Its an excellent idea and I hope you do guides throughout the country.
Bilash Balti – St. Annes-On-SeaI had a good meal here with choices I wouldn't really have expected from a pub. I went for a chicken satay thing for starter and moules marnieres for main course. My companions, who are regulars, tell me the steaks here are excellent. Service was attentive. My only quibble would be that there are so many different menus floating around (I counted 4) that it gets a little confusing.
Enjoyed the fish and chips here for many years as it is of a high quality and you are always made to feel really welcome
