Great place decent clientele will be back.

I have to say after hearing rave reviews about yourselves.Me and my wife were looking forward to.our meal out at ShagorikaHowever being a gy married couple proved difficult at this restaurant. I saw staff ask all other customers how their food was etc. We didn't getasked once, the food was plonked down In front of us and we were being staredat by staff looking at us in disgust. As people were leaving staff openeddoor shook hands etc what did we get no open door simply a "bye" .How to makepeople feel unwelcome eh? I am taking this story to local Echo and willtarnish this reputation on Facebook for all my curry lover friends. We havenever felt so uncomfortable ever, will be sticking to Ocean Road from nowone I have to say.

Absolutely lovely meal at shipwrights fri 3rd jan 2014. We go on a fairly reg basis and it never disappoints. My fav pork loin chops with a apple and cider sauce with great fresh veg. Perfect My better half had trad fish and chips, beautifully cooked moist . With mushy peas and fat chip's. Will we go back, def yes Staff are really friendly and helpful.

Visited Casa Rio for Tapas, was my first taste of this type of food and I have to say I wasn't disappointed! Was a very friendly and welcoming experience and the food was second to none, good choice on the menu and value for money, will definitely be going back soon.

Dined here with friends this weekend, must say what a fantastic place this restaurant is - 4 fillet steaks all cooked to perfection, amazing starters, desserts beautifully presented. Service was excellent and you can really tell the staff care about what they serve and who to. I would recommend this restaurant to people wo appreciate great food, great wine in a classy environment. Credit to the owners and the staff.

Having dined at Amore for some years and always enjoyed the excellent service, atmosphere and food I was shocked when my wife took a party of five friends to what we regarded as one of the better restaurants in Sunderland to find they were not offered any drinks for over 30 mins after arrival, were kept waiting over 45mins before being taken to "the preferred restaurants" table and when eventually the food arrived the chicken was dry, overlooked and inedible, to cap it all the manager then brought the same food back telling the customer there was nothing wrong with the chicken "in the middle". I fairness to the owner when contacted he did say he would look into this and get back to us. Alas that was now over a week ago without response, make your own mind up on that one.

Best Italian Restaurant in Sunderland by far, attentive but not intrusive staff,hot piping and delicious food.very good service.

Brilliant restaurant with very friendly staff, a good selection of food and wines with a fantastic view over looking the beach. Recommend as a very good place to eat.

It has been a while since we'd been to the Ropery and decided to call in for the Sunday Carvery. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and excellent value for money (and it's better than some of the other places we've been to). The drinks are reasonably priced and and they have a good selection of real ales. We've been back a few times over the past few moths for food/drinks/night out and as we've enjoyed it so much we've booked it for our Wedding this year. I'd recommend the Ropery to anyone who wants great food, a good atmosphere and somewhere to enjoy decent live music!!

Went to Tonis tonight before going to the Theatre. Booked a table for 6.00 pm. My party left at 7.10 pm without having anything to eat. I asked the waiter on a number of occasions and was told "I should have booked", when I explained I had booked a table, he just shrugged his shoulders. The waiters were surly and obviously the food was non-existent. I would never go to Tonis again and I would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

Spent the weekend in Sunderland to see family - what a fantastic venue the Ropery is! Came on spec Saturday night to find a hidden gem, the Casa Rio tapas restaurant. Manager and staff very attentive and friendly and the food completely amazing. As nice as any I have had in Spain! Live band in the bar afterwards with a great atmosphere and very reasonably priced drinks. So good we came back for the Sunday carvery!! A beautifully cooked roast dinner and amazing cheesecake for dessert. Will definitely be back next time I am in Sunderland, and would recommend to anyone!!

Really fantastic Indian Take Away, has won loads of awards. Meal deals available on Wednesday and Sundays which are very good value. Try the Chicken Tikka Lanka Piaza if you like a hot curry but watch out for those little green chilli's!

This is the best Thai restaurant in the town. Great food and attentive staff.

Over priced, slow service, food not worth the wait.

one off the best restaurant in north east.. fantastic service and fantastic food.. i wish i was a millionaire than i would go for a meal at midnight moon every night...
