We eat out every Sunday at different Indians. we found that the food at the Midnight Moon was great. They have a specials night, which is only around £7 which is great value for money. Would recommend this restaurant.

Midnight Moon – Sunderlandwe've been coming here since it opened nearly 30 years ago, and i can honestly say the food was and still is excellent and very good value for money.
Shagorika – SunderlandBeen going here for 18 years. Best italian in the city for food, friendliness and atmosphere. well recommended
Gabrieles – SunderlandFantastic choice of freshly prepared Italian food. Friendly, polite staff who always go the extra mile and a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Definitely the best Italian restaurant in the north east.
Tosca – SunderlandA fantastic family run restaurant. Food is mouthwatering fab. Its the only place we go if we want traditional cantonese food, we even get takeaways if we cant get a baby sitter. You know you will get a great meal everytime, we eat there at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Great service by all, especially attentive owner pauline.
Paradise Garden – Sunderlandive gone to this restaurant for years - its cheap and cheerful and has NEVER let us down. Everyone ive recommended it to agrees, best italian on the sea front.
Gabrieles – SunderlandMarcellos is the best italian Restaurant, not just in Sunderland, but in the North East. I have been to most restaurants from Newcastle to Whitley Bay and this place really takes some beating. I recommend the mari monte, a beautiful pasta dish with marscapone. Agree it is a couple's place rathjer than for a big group as it is classier than the likes of Lucianos and La Toscanina.
Marcello’s – SunderlandTook my kids out for a meal here and it was a very friendly pub with very good food my kids ate all there food which i was surprised at as they don't normally. My complements to the chef.
Shipwrights Hotel and Riverside Pub – Sunderlandi love this place, we've been going for a long time now and its never let us down. they staff and owner are very welcoming and theres a great atmosphere. (aswell as the food being excellent!)
Amore – Sunderlandnow a toby carvery, this restaurant is pleasant, clean and the food is great. add to this a relaxed atmosphere and you have an ideal night out. sundays though will bring a wait of around half an hour for a table.
Britannia Beefeater – SunderlandMidnight Moon is a fantastic restaurant. The food is amazing every time. The staff are lovely and will do anything to help. An overall fantastic dining experience. I regularly go back there, its far superior to any other Indian restaurant in Sunderland.
Midnight Moon – Sunderlandhi, i absoloutely disagree with edward, i ate in the shagorika and i felt i was back home in india, the waitors could not be any nicer, than they usually are, i agree that when its a full house usually on a Saturday and a thursday night, it does take longer for you to be sered but not so long, that you wak out and never return, the food is utterly irresistible and delicious, i enjoy meals there every Monday, Thursday and saturday night, with family and close friends, i always return home with a mouthwatering taste.I absolutely adore the restaurant and i also recommend others to share this experience with me.
Shagorika – Sunderlandeaster sunday, possibly the best carvery we have ever had, good atmosphere, credit to the staff good day had by all,
Golden Lion The – SunderlandI have eaten in Indian restaurants for many years in many different places and I find the food at Midnight Moon is amongst the best I have had. They have a lightness of touch - none of this inches of oil floating on top of your curry, presentation is always lovely and the food lush! The staff are very friendly and always remember your preferences.
Midnight Moon – SunderlandWorst restaurant I have ever visited. No service, no food and no apologies for anything. Walked out before food arrived.
Casa Rio Tapas – SunderlandI love this restaurant. My friend and I travel from Hartlepool to eat here, as the atmosphere and food are fantastic! Can not speak highly enough - amazing!
Luciano Ristorante – SunderlandThis is Luciano's sister restaurant. It has a very similar menu indeed and the food is just as fantastic. Where Angelo's differs is the location, building, decor and modernness. Although brill, Luciano's doesn't have the best location above a club and it's decor is very dated. Angelo's is the up to date classy version for all Luciano lovers. I would highly recommend this great eatery.
Angelos – Sunderlandhi, the shagorika is owned by my dad, and i just wanted to say that this place is obviously well known and well afforable, its got a range of delicious cuisines to offer and a group full of kind, gentle and hard working employess, this restaurant is something special, its one of the best on the seafront, in decoration wise and quality wise.
