The Foresters Arms – Kingston Upon ThamesWe absolutely loved our Sunday lunch. The food was perfectly cooked and well presented. The service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely recommend The Foresters Arms to others and will return soon.
The Foresters Arms – Kingston Upon ThamesGreat food. Lovely friendly service from Baba & his staff Recommended
Mogul Indian Cuisine – BagshotWe went to the White Horse for Sunday lunch last Sunday, and we both had the roast beef, which was delicious, well cooked and very generous portions, one of the best roast we have had for a long time, and good value for money, definitely will be going back.
The White Horse – HaslemereFirst class food, venue and service!
The Clock House – WokingWonderful place of verdant green foilage as you step through the door...Beautiful plants for sale and unusual gifts. With a great wine bar specialising in South African wines, I sampled a couple of them...very good indeed. I had the signature board of hams and cheese...yum. Extremely friendly staff very warm and welcoming. Will return to sample more delicious wines and food.
The Aycorn Shoppe – PurleyI'd booked a table at the hatch as I wanted to sit outside. Never having visited Denbies I wasn't aware of the other restaurants available. I was quite disappointed as the there was very little choice for lunch and no hot options like fish and chips shown on the sample menu. The Panini I ordered was nothing special came with no salad or anything else and costed close to £10. The location of the hatch is not good either as it is next to the car park and has no real view of the vineyard.
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingUnfortunately, we booked a table at The Hatch, just after restrictions lifted & were unaware that the Gallery restaurant had reopened. We were greeted with “ you can sit anywhere & order at the hatch, or I’ll serve you if you like “ we opted for service & were promptly forgotten. When the paninis did finally arrive, they were chewy and tasteless. They should have been served with chips & slaw as per the menu, but were not. We were given warm tap water and it was an extremely hot day. All in all, not a good experience. We will head upstairs again next time
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingReally disappointing. Marquee was right next to the car park, the plastic sides of it were down on the hottest day of the year, so it really noisy and stuffy, the ground was just dust, not lawn and the picnic tables were wobbly and not very clean. The waitstaff looked like they were trying their best but we’re pretty harried and service was slow and disorganised. Slightly affronted to be asked to pay immediately and then whether we wanted to add a tip when they brought our drinks (missing some of the order) before we had even had anything! Not quite sure why they say you need to book a table as there were plenty of people rocking up to the counter to order. Food was ok but nothing special. Overall, really disappointing and won’t be recommending or returning.
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingI was very excited to enjoy a lovely lunch at the Hatch on the Lawn, however it was very disappointing. We were seated at a table that was too hot to sit at. Offered another table in a rather grotty maquis, that had the plastic walls still attached on the hottest day of the year. Our waitress was very uninspiring and looked very miserable (although I would have been too working in that heat) . The lawn was more of a dusty muddy gravel area directly next to the car park. We ordered 2 chicken burgers and 2 fish & chips. It was all very bland and no condiments were offered. The drinks came with no ice (even when asked for). Nearly £70 for a what was really a rather shonky takeaway, did not go down to well. The poor young people who were running it really didn’t have a clue. It was definitely not the gorgeous lunch on the lawn I was expecting.
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingExcellent food and service on a busy Sunday lunch time. So lovely to be able to sit outside with lovely big sunshades. Dare I say it but an improvement on Denbies’ downstairs dining which tends to get too hot in the summertime
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingReally disappointing... We booked a wine tasting at 15:00, so we wanted to have some lunch before, therefore we booked a table at the hatch at 14:00, so we could eat and then go for a little walk around the vineyard before our booking. We arrived just a couple of minutes before and were asked to choose a table as it wasn't busy. All the empty tables were still dirty and the plates hadn't been cleared from previous customers that had eaten. We waited for 20 minutes and even though we were looking at the waiters clearly calling for their attention, they looked back at us many times and continued to ignore us. After 5 minutes, (this is now a 25 minute wait) a waiter approached us to take our order. By then it was too late as we had lost our appetite and didn't want to lose out on the rest of our plans. Long story short we never had our meal and when we left, our table had still not been cleared of the previous customer's dirty plates. We might try the restaurant gallery next time as the rest of the place is lovely. But won't recommend the hatch or will ever be back.
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingPanini very good, fish and chips ok, wine lovely! Friendly and helpful service.
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingExcellent service with good food, though quite expensive for what it was. An enjoyable experience with a good atmosphere thanks to the service and company rather than the environment of the actual Hatch on the Lawn. The environment of Denbies overall is lovely, though
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingWhere do I start. The marketing for this is so misleading! There is no lawn just a large dirt patch in a grubby old marque. Right next to the car parkWaited 20 mins for drinks so walked out really disappointed with the whole experience. Never again!!
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingThe service was abysmally slow and the food was at least average. Would not recommend
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingBooked a table for 6 of us on Hatch on the Lawn looks fabulous on the web site but not so good in reality grubby marquee and seating area picnic tables were soaking wet waiter came over to take order for drinks but we were a little confused when he asked us to pay for our drinks before we had got them and also we assumed that as we were eating here we could have paid bill altogether 3 times we were asked !!?? The weather definitely was not in our favour that day so after our food we rushed our drinks and moved inside to the gift shop as it was torrential rain we made several purchases in the shop and as we waiting at the door for 2 others to finish their purchases the lady at the till very rudely asked us to move out and not to gather there was absolutely no other people in the gift shop and we were just waiting for the rest of our group , to make their purchases , extremely disappointed on our first experience.,
Denbies Vineyard – DorkingWas really looking forward to a lovely lunch on the lawn, the photos made it look and sound lovely and thought it would be a great place to go with visiting family as have previously had lovely experience in the gallery restaurant, unfortunately did not meet expectations and was a slightly wet picnic bench in bedrooms of the car park on something I wouldn’t describe as a ‘lawn’..The staff weren’t attentive and asked us to pay about 5 times throughout before we’d even had our drinks or food. We then went perusing in the gift shop and bought 6 bottles of wine and some soap so about £60. The weather was thunder and lightning outside and not taking time to rain, we were getting ready to leave and stood at the door in the empty gift shop and were asked to leave and move away from the doors or make a purchase (eh… sorry we just did)!! Certainly won’t be back again as for such a lovely spot reality was that it was a big disappointment!
