Bengal Lounge – FarnhamNice place, friendly comfortable atmosphere, but food isn't great. Third time I've visited, but again found food was not always cooked properly or hot. Taste also not the best. I will be back but only for a drink or ice cream!
The Midday Sun – CoulsdonLove it! Awesome food, very nice restaurant and atmosphere.
Curry Leaf – CoulsdonGood real ale, shame the staff are surly and rude. Cliquey locals, mostly boring old men. Great live bands, shame about the staff.
Three Mariners – BagshotThis was our first visit back after many years out of the UK and we will not be returning to the Gaylord. The food was mediocre, but it was the indifference of the waiting staff that surprised us and with only 3 tables seated in the entire restaurant, we felt hurried to finish our meal!
The Gaylord – WeybridgeI visited this restaurant on Wednesday 14th May 2014 with 13 other work colleagues for a italian meal following a long day at work nearby. We arrived at 8.00 pm at the restaurant having pre-booked and we all were sat on a table laid out for all of us.After a lengthy wait we were served some drinks and orders for starters were taken. There were a variety of starters but nothing to complex for the chef.It took nearly an hour before we got served our starters. We then ordered main courses. I ordered a calazone pizza along with several other colleagues. At 9.50 pm we still had not been srved any main courses. We made a complaint and the waiter served us with extra drinks as a smootherner. These would no doubt be added to our bill later. At 10.10 pm some two hours later some meals started to appear, however those that were at the far end of the table had to endure watching the rest eat their meals.A couple of calzone pizzas appeared at one end of the table but mine did not !!At 10.15 pm I had still not had my meal and had decided that enough was enough and I walked ot of the restaurant in utter disgust at the appalling service at a place that states quick food ?.I went next door and ordered kebab and chips as I had been at work since 6.30 that day and was starving.I would not venture back in to this place and it deserves nothing but a one star for its service/food and ambience. Very hungry and disgruntled customer
La Roma Ristorante – WokingGREAT STEAK TENDER JUICY FULL OF FLAVOUR.
Potters Steak House – CamberleyThe food at this small tucked away restaurant is truly delicious. Highly recommend this little gem.
The Lotus Oriental – HindheadWent there for a meal with the family. We're quite a big family, 11 of us, and we even called ahead to book. When we arrived, they asked whether we wanted the buffet or a la carte menu. We looked at the buffet table and it didn't look like much, plus the fact there was barely anything in the trays anyway. For a family of 11, it just wasn't going to work. So we opted for the a la carte menu. Ordered 11 dishes, 3 soups, 3 rice and 2 noodles. Now for most places this would be a simple order, even with one chef. I mean Rice? simple. Noodles? simple. Soups? simple. dishes we ordered? Simple, seriously, Chinese food is simple, it's a high heat, work and ingredients all thrown in to the pan, it's not difficult. It was for these guys though. 11 dishes came out literally 1 or 2 at a time at best. so overall for all 11 dishes, we probably waited for an hour and a half to two hours. The soups that came out? lukewarm at best, clearly a health and safety issue there as if the soup isn't heated through, you're not destroying the bacteria. At the end of the meal, we asked for the bill. We were shocked to see there was a 10 service charge added to our bill. Now normally when we receive good service, we're happy to pay 10-15 service charge. This place literally gave us NO SERVICE. The service here was SHOCKING. We ordered chinese tea for 8 people. The waitress bought over 6 tea cups. Had to ask 3 times for 2 more cups. The food came out in dribs and drabs like I said above, still she never apologised. At most chinese restaurants they'll throw in free prawn crackers at the beginning of the meal and free fortune cookies at the end of the meal. We actually had to ask for the fortune cookies at the end of the meal. What kind of service is this?! When we questioned the poor service we received, she argued that the restaurant was very popular with many happy customers. I didn't ask for your reviews and how your other customers felt, I was telling you how WE felt and how bad YOUR service was for OUR meal. I couldn't believe she even said she's very popular and everyone enjoys the food, considering when we walked in there were only 2 other tables, with 6 people in total. So how she can say the restaurant is popular and all their customers are happy I find absurd. Overall the restaurant was a joke. Slow and non-existent service and average food which you can get at any other Chinese restaurant. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this place. Find somewhere else!
New World Restaurant – SuttonWe had a thoroughly enjoyable brunch here on New Years Day. We were sorry that more people were not there. We are sure there were more last year , all we can think is the atrocious weather put people off going out.We then booked for Burns Night as last yearswas a delight, we will be ther whatever the weather.
