we used to go to regards but stopped since two brilliant waiters left it wasn't the same regards that we loved.
Regards Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldHaving been to Regards last evening with family members who had been previously my husband and I did not enjoy our meals that much. We were disappointed and felt our share of the cost of the bill for six people, £52 per couple was not great. However, being ill is the worst outcome. Unfortunately I had to fetch my husband from work at 2.00pm (he should have worked till 6.30pm) as he was taken really sick and the Paramedic where he works confirmed that as we thought the cause was a dodgy meal. We can only attribute this to Regards and wish we had gone to our normal curry house the Bengal Garden where we have been going for many, many years without a problem.
Regards Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldWe have only been to mother india once, a few weeks ago, we found the food very poor, the interior very shabby and the service awful. Not only were we given the wrong food but it was also very bland & cold. We wont be returning.
Mother India – Sutton ColdfieldHighly recommend The Village Pantry Walmley, Excellent coffee and Panini's, my colleague had a Jacket with Chicken Curry and said it was delightful! and great value for money £2.85 for a panini but the size of a baguette - not the small things you get in Druckers - delicious!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND KEEP IT THAT FRIENDLY SHOP YOUVE GOT
The Village Pantry – Sutton ColdfieldI went to Pizza by Goli with 2 friends and ordered a fillet steak. I was served a scrag end buried in a tomato based sauce. When I complained to staff the chef came to the table and apologised - 'he didn't notice that it wasn't a fillet when he removed it from the fridge'. Unforgivable - meal removed from the bill.
Pizza By Goli – Sutton ColdfieldIf you are looking for a no frills traditional Indian restaurant, which uses fresh ingredients and doesn't overdo the sugar and colourings etc, you can't do much better than this. Prices are very reasonable too compared to other more "trendy" places.
Bengal Garden Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldNothing to write home about, the usual microwaved / fried pre-prepared pub grub. It's reputation for being a top notch carvery evaporated years ago.
Four Oaks – Sutton ColdfieldWe regularly visit the China House with our two well behaved children aged 5 and 3. The staff are efficient and friendly and the service is always excellent. The ribs really are the best you can find and we can honestly say we have never had a poor meal. If you sit by the windows check out the traditional carvings on the wall.
China House Restaurant – Sutton Coldfieldi went there last saturday 4th June, i am Indian and this is the worst Indian meal i have ever had. the service was slow, waiters disinterested, and the food, was terrible. to cap it all, most of the waiters had terrible body odour. this place deserves to close, however, the mainly white customers obviously don't know what a good curry is and are happy to eat this rubbish.
Regards Restaurant – Sutton Coldfieldi was at pizza by goli for my 75 birthday the food was out of this world the wine list was as good as any city center venues the staff were friendly and attentive a must place to visit
Pizza By Goli – Sutton ColdfieldWe had read a glowing report in the local paper and had not visited this - our "local" since a poor meal 2 years ago. It will be many more than two years before we return. Table booked for 11 as it was a special evening. We were in a conservatory part of the restaurant and it was late November and far from warm. Towards the end of the meal were were wearing our coats. A very big selection of meals - large menus and specials - all to be produced from a small kitchen. We were prepared for slow service as we had visited before, but it was an hour before the starters arrived and then a long wait for the plates to be cleared and more waiting for the main course to arrive. When they did arrive, only 9 from the eleven turned up. Of these 2 were immediately returned to the kitchen as one was cold and the other not at all what was described on the menu. One of the remaining main courses turned up after 10 minutes. The final course that, I think had been completely forgotten arrived as the rest of us were finishing our meal. We will not return. If you are planning a meal to remember, you may well achieve this if you visit the Four Oaks, but not in the way you wanted. Lesson to be learnt - Don’t believe restaurant guides in paper that rely in restaurant advertisements. Lessons for the Four Oaks. Please try and concentrate on a smaller menu and try and get that right before expanding the choices so much. Don’t book for more covers than your kitchen and/or staff can handle. Dec 2008.
Four Oaks – Sutton ColdfieldNot impressed. We have only been to the Blake Barn once before now, and it was relatively good. However, after visiting recently we were appalled. The new managers are rude and unhelpful. They even sat at the bar DRINKING while on shift, and seemed to do little work. A particular manager, whom I think may have been called ADAM, seemed reluctant to help with our complaints and was more interested in joking around with waiting staff. The food we ordered took 45 mins to come out, and when it did it was cold and by the looks of it, MICROWAVED...and this was a steak. The establishment is shocking and I would never return. On another note, the Pub smelt damp, definitely earned the name 'Barn'.
Blake Barn The – Sutton Coldfieldbeen coming here for years and now there's a site to be able to tell people about this wonderful place, always made to feel very special.
Kababish – Sutton ColdfieldWOW ! I have often come here with family and friends if we want a meal and it never disappointed. But ever since they had a refurbishment everything has just gone BETTER ! It now looks fabulous when before the the looks wasn't one of it's main features. The food is top class and my plates are always left clean. The staff are delightful, Mr.A.Ahad and Mr.M.Ali (that's not all the staff obviously, but two of the main ones I get on with) and always are very polite and lovely to speak to. I would rate it 5/5 !
Shalbon Indian Cuisine – Sutton ColdfieldThe food was absolutely disgraceful. I found a hair in my soup, which was also cold. When complaining, the manageress was rude and obnoxious. Not only were we standing around waiting for 40 minutes regardless of my wife's back problems but when finally seated it took a further hour before our starters came. After the starters FINALLY arrived, the main courses were shocking, to say the least. Vegetables were practically rotting on the plate and the potatoes were dry. Related to this, the plates were filthy which was very off putting. However, the puddings were lovely and the waiting staff were excellent and very apologetic. i recommend you go somewhere else to avoid the disappointment and devastation we experienced. SORT YOUR PUB OUT.
Blake Barn The – Sutton Coldfieldvery good food and staff, good as anywhere else, but very expensive to use on a regular basis, prices need to be reduced by 15% at least, then this place will be a roaring success
Induz – Sutton Coldfieldterrible place rude staff i ordered 5 breakfasts one was a vegi breakfast i recieved iy with a vegi sausage and a piece of bacon on top......... when i commented and said i'd ordered vegi they took it away took bacon off and gave it me back.......obviously i complained to a tut and a grumpy sorry terrible never going back again.
Bishop Vesey – Sutton ColdfieldFood and staff were great. The one thing that I do feel I need to say is that the kitchen hygiene wasn't of high standards. We were sat opposite the 'chef' and whilst cooking he was eating (had to mouth spreads bacteria) and he licked a spoon used to stir a dish then replaced it in the food. I for one will not be dining there again, neither will the 3 families I attended with.
