Lovely birthday meal at the smokey cow, what an unknown gem! All food was lovely and service was delightful
The Smokey Cow – TelfordIt was very brightly lit which stifled warmth and ambiance. The staff were pleasant and welcoming however. I don’t recall hearing any background music. The starter labelled medium hot was so hot it was inedible. The pork ribs were tough and also inedible. Very disappointed and despite contacting the company we have not had any response.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordDelicious food and great service.
The Butchers Kitchen – TelfordFirst meal there last night. Cannot fault the service, particularly lovely man on the bar. Unfortunately, the staff are let down by the average food and the cold lighting (although the air temperature was good). The belly pork starter was chewy and so was the short rib which was supposedly slow cooked for 8 hours. Perhaps it had dried out afterwards or not been fully submerged. It was also meant to come with leeks which were missing. And it was HUGE! Great if you have a big appetite but not if you were hoping for dessert! My partner enjoyed his Smokey cow burger however and the Brie wedges were delicious. Lovely place and lovely staff. Fine if you want some average pub grub but don’t expect fine dining.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordVery slow service. After waiting 20 mins for someone to take our order has to go to the bar to order food for another 20 minute wait. Just everything was dealt with at a very slow pace and spending over 70 pound on a meal was just a bit disappointed with how slow things were
The Tayleur Arms – TelfordWe love our BBQ food and we ordered the Pit Master sharing platter. There was a lot of meat which was a good thing and most of it was cooked to perfection and delicious. Unfortunately the pork ribs where tough and chewy which would indicate not cooked for long enough low and slow.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHad a fantastic night for Octoberfest. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was second to none. We had such a great time and couldn’t recommend it enough.
The Butchers Kitchen – TelfordExcellent food and hospitality. Would highly recommend it
The Butchers Kitchen – TelfordHaving noticed the pub when driving by we were caught by its appearance and signage. Once home we reviewed the extensive menu which looked superb with an offering for everyone in our party (9) so we made a reservation for a table for Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and showed to our table ordered drinks all going perfectly great start. We were provided with menus although we had already decided prior to what we wished to order and here is we’re it went dramatically downhill. Now we were provided a Sunday lunch menu on arrival to now be told we are sorry we have sold out of all Sunday lunches , slightly disappointed but no problems as the main menu contained more than enough options or so we thought , we were then told that three out of the five pies advertised were unavailable along with around half of the rest of the menu limiting our options further. So we placed our orders for what we could have and ordered some extras including the house salad and onion rings. At this point we are told of a thirty minute wait for food , not to worry we waited. Our order started to arrive which consisted of two orders of the full rack of ribs but we were first served two half racks we raised this with our server who informed us this was an error in the kitchen and we would be served this twice (the ribs though were of a very poor standard and burnt) the rest of the order followed which included the house salad which should be re named the grossly overpriced embarrassing to be served salad , it was pathetic to say the least. We informed the waitress that we were not prepared to pay £4.95 for it and could it be returned in her defence she removed it from the bill and left it with us. The “pie” is actually a slice of pie and the seasonal vegetables consisted of two carrots and a parsnip (they had also ran out of greens). We spoke to the manager and has a refund of 20% of the bill making the final bill come in at £198 including drinks which included a bottle of wine so we found this acceptable. A real shame as the menu and venue is very good but the food or lack of it is a real shame and we personally wouldn’t visit again.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThis was a second visit. We has recommended it to family. So thought we would experience the same as first visit. Cannot fault service and welcome. But when it came to the food it seemed we had end of service soggy vegetables. My husband and son ordered steak costing £26, it was not of the best quality both saying it seemed as if it had been frozen and not a fresh cut. Mine was missing what was advertised on the menu but 'I couldn't be bothered' to say. Such a shame as I had recommended it.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordCouldn’t fault the food or service, five completely empty plates at the end. Staff were both friendly and polite. Only thing is the atmosphere, sound just seems to reverberate through the room so every minor word feels like it travels too far. Other than that I can’t fault the place and will 100% be back soon.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordExcellent food excellent service 3rd visit and will keep going back great pub
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFantastic meal, excellent value for money. Faultless service. Will definitely be back very soon. *****
The Smokey Cow – TelfordExcellent service all round! Booked a table for four plus one toddler. We were quickly greeted upon arrival and shown our table. Nicki had brought toys out to keep our son occupied (which it did!) and was very accommodating with our choices and needs. Food was fresh and excellent, prices fair and with a good selection of drinks. It's great to see a modern food establishment of such high standards in Broseley and we will be coming back!
The Butchers Kitchen – TelfordAbsolutely fantastic. Brilliant and extremely attentive staff, food was amazing, fairly priced and deserts were wonderful. Very impressed! Will be back, we only booked a table last minute on a Saturday eve and we didn’t regret it. Just seen some negative reviews below about Sundays, can’t review the Sunday lunch but main menu was spot on!
The Tayleur Arms – TelfordCame for a lunchtime meal with friends. There was only one other table in at the same time. Certain items on menu were not available and when ordered I specified a dietary request and luckily I noticed before eating. Was a little disappointed as staff member didn't seem to interested when pointing it out
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe booked for Saturday 6th at 7.15pm. This was our first visit and we'll definitely be coming vack. The welcome, food and service were excellent. Our son' s special dietary needs were met without any problems whatsoever.
