Came here recently. I believe they had a different chef to normal in the kitchen, however the food was fantastic as normal. Great service, very attentive.

The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe really enjoyed our Valentine's Day meal. It was lovely to see a different menu than the normal weekly one. The amount of food was ideal (often we find the platefuls overwhelming) and it was very tasty. We were disappointed when we ordered gin and tonics to be told there were no lemon slices. However when we complained the waitress did manage to find a slice! We were also slightly disappointed that there was no attempt to decorate the room for Valentine's Day. You could buy hanging decorations from the community shop...
The Smokey Cow – TelfordBeautiful food, well presented and fairly good service speed etc. enjoyed all that we ordered. Will be coming back.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHad a great relaxing night no one rushing you for your table back, staff really helpful , good food, drinks and music to top it all, will definitely return , thanks for a lovely evening
The Smokey Cow – TelfordOur food on Saturday evening was excellent, however, because it was so busy, we ordered drinks which didn’t arrive and were added to the bill. There was also a random serving of fries added to the bill, which we hadn’t ordered or received- not a deal breaker, we will return. The music man was a bonus- great sound, finished the evening off nicely. Thank you.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordArrived early at 7.10pm for a 7.30 reservation. Got taken to our table within 2 mins. Took drink order at 7.15pm took 15 mins to arrive. Food order taken at 7.30pm and food arrived at 8.10pm. There were plenty of staff on and the restaurant wasn’t full. Food was ok. Plates were cold so the meat element of my meal was only Luke warm. Got asked by the waitress if we needed sauce, we asked for mayonnaise which never showed up!!! Never got asked if we wanted more drinks. Waited 15 mins after finishing our meal and no service so didn’t order pudding. I waited another few minutes and went to the bar to pay. All the waiting staff looked very young and there was distinct lack of management. Overall it was a disappointing meal, the food could of been better, the service was slow and poor. There was a live singer on who was so loud we had to raise our voices to talk to each other. You don’t need a loud mic and the amp turned up full in such a small setting. We have been visiting this establishment for a drink in the beer garden over the last few years. ( The service is always slow) It’s a shame as it’s a nice looking pub with a good menu. We won’t be visiting for a meal again soon.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordOverall a good experience was a very loud atmosphere on arrival a lot of people speaking loudly to be heard over the other tables. Once the singer started everyone seemed to quite down the singer was great a nice change to just music over speakers. The starter was incredible unfortunately my partner was disappointed with the items that were unavailable that we weren’t made aware of until ordering. A few ingredients seemed to be missing off the starters as listed on the Menu but didn’t effect the overall starter tasted amazing! We waited for about an hour between starters to mains which seemed abit of a long time I understand it was busy due to a few larger tables and being valentines weekend but we arrived at half 7 got our starters 45 minutes after arrival and got our mains at just gone 9pm. The one member of staff we spoke to was really friendly and chatty who took our order she was great and was having a laugh with us.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordEight of us ate Sunday Lunch at the Smokey Cow. On the whole the food was good. We skipped starters and went for mains. My chicken, ham and leek pie was perfect. Decent portions and very tasty. My wife had a large 1/2 chicken, which was also spot on. However, my daughter was disappointed by her steak (@£24.50) which she said was a bit dry. The desserts were good, but my chocolate orange tart was a bit dry and looked like it was bought in and defrosted - not made on site. One amusing thing was the waitress, who admitted to a lack of knowledge of the wine list and insisted on calling sauvignon blanc, sow vin blank. We may go again, as the menu had other items we'd like to try.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordLovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere, food was tasty and plenty of will definitely be coming again
The Smokey Cow – TelfordReally great atmosphere and lovely little place. Great meal as good as I had remembered from being there 6 months before.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe booked the Smokey Cow for a birthday meal for 10 people. I received an email asking for a pre order so that we weren’t disappointed if there weren’t items on the menu and so it would be easier for the kitchen. This was sent over a week in advance. I received a call 2 hours before our reservation to be told there were no pies available, which three of our party ordered. When I stated we sent over a pre order and asked the reason for this I was told ‘the kitchen have lost the pre order and pies were never ordered from the butchers.’ On the way over I called the restaurant and added the replacement meals and asked to check the order over so there were no issues when we arrived. We arrived and ordered drinks, to be told there wasn’t enough of what we had ordered, so we needed to choose again. we were then told they didn’t have those drinks either. Before our food, we were notified that one meal was missing off the pre order - which we couldn’t believe as it was on the email that was sent and was also on the order when we checked on the way to the restaurant. The food is incredible and despite the issues, staff were lovely. The lack of organisation, however, really let the restaurant down. I have been before in a smaller group and visited another Craft and Jam restaurant elsewhere, and never had these issues.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordLovely food and a friendly atmosphere
The Smokey Cow – TelfordService was amazing the girl serving couldn't do enough for us. Food was great value for money.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordPopped in for a drink last week during a walk around the village. Pleasantly surprised to find out they serve food during lunch too. Dark haired manager on bar was friendly and talkative, telling us about the family owned group.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordGreat meal here over the weekend. Lovely girl running the pub, really great service. Food was delicious, we had one of the specials.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHaving recently moved to Shropshire, this was our first visit to the Smokey Cow. Lovely Shropshire village location and cool contemporary look & feel to the pub. Service was okay and food was tasty & reasonably priced. However, my partner has Coeliac Disease and is therefore allergic to gluten. Fortunately, in this day and age, most progressive pubs have a GF menu or clearly marked GF options on their menus. Sadly, the Smokey Cow has yet to catch up and when requesting the GF menu, after a 5 minute search for it, we were handed the dreaded ‘allergens folder’ which is frankly a horrible experience for any diner. It is much nicer to be advised what you can have rather than given a list of what you can’t have which in this case was most things on the menu. On a more positive note, after requesting that the waitress ask the chef if they could adapt any meal a GF option was provided and the food was delicious. My advice to “Craft & Jam” is to consider the customer experience of being handed the allergen folder and move with the times like so many others. Brunning & Price is a great example. Sadly, we won’t be back.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFood was ok service was terrible not because of any attitude but poor girl was on her own. Room was freezing
The Smokey Cow – TelfordOur first visit to this lovely 'village' located eating house which we fully enjoyed. Our table for eight was celebrating a birthday. All the meals were excellent which was served on hot plates nicely served by the staff. Our supplied birthday cake came on time lite with candles and a verse of happy birthday was start by the staff. I don't think the staff could have been more helpful well done all Thanks Smokey Cow,
