Amazing food,, blew us away really, we were expecting a basic Sunday roast and we couldn’t have been more wrong. Beautiful food, we’ll be back soon.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordVisited this week, meal was lovely had the Bao Buns a bit over priced I think for the amount you have. Service was quite slow although it didn’t seem busy. Desserts quite expensive too for size!!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordOne of the worst meal experiences we’ve ever had - won’t be returning! It started badly when we arrived and the manager immediately “set our expectations” by telling us they were short staffed and it was her first day as manager and that not all customers were understanding of this. She then continued to complain about other customers who were still there eating! After this, she sat us in the smoking shelter, which was filthy and we had a toddler with us! So we moved to a nicer table. We ordered straight away because we had a two year old with us so wanted to get his food delivered as soon as possible. To keep him entertained we ordered three courses off the children’s menu. After 45 minutes the manager came to say the chef had done all the food in one go, instead of starters arriving first. We said that was fine as we just wanted our food. She said it would be two minutes. A further 15 minutes later (an hour after ordering), our meal finally arrived. The food was fine but nothing special. We then asked for our little boy’s dessert and they then delivered the wrong dessert. They did voluntarily give us money off the bill as they recognised the service had been so bad, but it’s not enough to make us return I’m afraid. It’s such a shame because the venue is lovely and has great potential.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordPoor quality, dreadfully presented spoonful of stew containing one piece of beef, covered in copious amounts of mashed potatoes and described as “pie”. Expensive and disappointing, our first visit will certainly be our last.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe got off to a bad start when we told as we arrived that we couldn't sit inside as we hadn't said on our online booking that we were bringing a dog and there were no dog safe tables available. Nowhere on the online booking did it indicate that we should state that we were bringing a dog and we haven't had to do that before when booking. We live in Beckbury and we have been taking our dog there for years including just a few weeks ago and there was no issue about the dog at all then. Even more upsetting was the fact that the young lady who greeted us stated several times that the venue has always had a dog safe table policy (the meaning of which we still have no idea) since Craft and Jam took over the pub. This is blatantly untrue! We were also very disappointed by the number of items that were unavailable on the menu. leaving a quite narrow choice. We were given no explanation for this. There has been a marked deterioration in the quality of food and service over the last 12 months sadly.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordDisappointing food and service. Our table was booked for 5:30pm on a Saturday night and when we arrived we were told that there were no steaks and the one vegetarian meal on the menu wasn’t available, we had to chase our meals, desserts and bill and the meat was tough. When I raised concerns as we paid our bill, we were told they were short staffed - I’m not sure how the 2 girls found time to finish their private chat and twiddle with their hair if this was the case. And apparently, they don’t really cater for vegetarians because it’s a smoke house!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAbsolutely amazing food. The Texas brisket was gorgeous. Only downside was about 40 minute wait for food even on a quiet afternoon and my mum asked for steak medium rare but got it medium to well done. However this didn’t spoil Our enjoyment of the food

The Smokey Cow – TelfordIt was not to bad …wouldn’t return as load of other places to try
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThe food was absolutely beautiful a great service, lovely atmosphere and we would definitely go back . I have a 2 year old and the staff were very friendly and the children’s menu was very appetising
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFood was delicious, really full of flavour! Staff were all lovely.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWonderful meal
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThe location is very rural and the road in is tricky but well worth the journey, I struggled to get into a parking space due to the car park being very narrow and my car being quite long but once parked and inside myself and gf were very impressed, seating is well spaced, the decor was quaint and the staff were very polite and efficient with their jobs, the only thing that could make the place any better was the food and it did, rump steak cooked to perfection with the usual trimmings and “ messy fries “ ( which were new to me ) I opted for the pulled pork ones and found that they were a really tasty addition to the meal, I definitely recommend this venue to anyone who’s looking for a quiet, private and enjoyable meal out
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHad the Pitmaster sharing platter and it was perfection. My son and I couldn’t believe our eyes with the amount of food we had and every part of the meal was awesome, the variety of meats is amazing and each is cooked and tasted outstanding , the sides that come perfectly compliment it and upgrading to pulled pork fries is also a must, whilst the food blew us away so did the staff and their fantastic customer service, , all in all totally recommended.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordMy daughter and I have visited ZiZi's twice now and have enjoyed it on both occasions. The menu has a lot of choice. We had pizza which was delicious. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was value for money and it was an enjoyable experience. We will definitely visit again. Thank you
Zizzi – TelfordExcellent asian food - well cooked and beautifully spiced. Salvation in the curry wilderness that is Shropshire!
Kashmir Cafe – TelfordBeen here twice now when visiting relatives. The food is excellent, really tasty and good presentation. They do several dishes and the waiters are really friendly and have an excellent knowledge of the dishes and ingredients. The prices are very reasonable and the food is suberb. They also do a take away service. I look forward to visiting again, it is now one of my favourite places.
