The Smokey Cow – TelfordReally nice evening food was delicious great chooses.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordVery enjoyable meal. Tempura seafood platter was delicious and then the main courses were on a par. The staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. The service was quick so overall a pleasant experience.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordClearly management are not using this customer feedback platform to improve their open plan kitchen / passover. We too had an identical experience to diners awful experience of hotdogs prep and service spoke to manager about the dirty tea towels saucepans and tupper ware containers on the passover they refunded a bowl of chips ( which we had to remind them to bring) Management if you are paying for this feedback service please use it .
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAttended on Sunday with friends. Overall lovely meal and atmosphere. Only thing I would criticise is you pay £15-£16.50 for a roast dinner and if you would like a Yorkshire pudding it’s an extra £1.50 you’d think that would be included as your paying so much for the meal.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordHad the most amazing meal on Mother's Day, food was delicious and such generous portions. Staff were super lovely, friendly and welcoming. It was such a shame that it hadn't been staffed adequately for such a large amount of diners :( it was sad to see staff running around like headless chickens both waiting on tables and serving drinks. Well done all, your hardwork definitely was noticed by us. Thank you for looking after us on such a busy day.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWas advised they had a chef down, however honestly we couldn’t tell! The food was perfect, with generous portion sizes and a great atmosphere in the place!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordEven better service than before, great manager. staff friendly and food generous and affordable.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordUpon our arrival at 4:30 it was fairly quite and clean. The service from the young girls was great and couldn’t fault there politeness and service when waiting our table. However, we sat at a table for 2 which faced the open kitchen in which you could see the food cooking and hear every conversation and sound. We both ordered 2 hot dogs with smothered fries, the excitement of watching the chefs get started was great but watching the young gentlemen use his hands for EVERYTHING did not bring us excitement. I watched the hot dogs being placed within the buns with his bare hands and then lick his fingers….he grabbed the chips with his hands and placed them onto the tray whilst eating them as he went along. When putting the toppings onto the chips he was helping himself to bits of meat whilst throughout LICKING HIS FINGERS…. I believe everyone sat waiting for there food saw his uncleanlinesses around dishing up orders but it was clear that this gentleman wasn’t bothered just rather peckish! Let me not forget to mention the heavy metal music playing in which it got louder and louder at one point. We won’t be keen to eat here again but have eaten at other Smokey cows in which have been fab!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordVisited yesterday evening for a meal with my husband. Beautiful surroundings. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and shown to our table. Menu was pretty decent. We didn’t have to wait long for our drinks, order to be taken or for food to arrive. Staff were friendly. Food was really good. Huge portions. Overall we both really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordReally enjoyable meal, as always.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWhen we arrived it was so disappointing to see there was no fire. I know it was a lovely sunny day but it was February. The choice and quality of food was not up to the standard you have
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe have only known of The Smokey Cow this year and have always been highly Since we discovered the Smokey Cow we have been delighted with the food and service and have recommended it to both family and friends but Sunday it was poor. On arrival we immediatley noticed the lack of the fire which gives warmth to the room. Nothing was up to the standard you have got us to expect. The whole experience was disappointing
The Smokey Cow – TelfordLovely meal and lovely service.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordRather disappointed with the Valentine's Day menu and not much effort was made to create a romantic atmosphere for Valentine's Day. Food was okay, but nothing special.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordIt’s really beautiful inside and out, but unfortunately that’s where it ends for us. The chef was a nice man from what we saw and heard, but didn’t get to try his food! We were seated and asked if we wanted a drink before we’d even sat down, which would normally not be an issue. But after getting us all drinks they decide to tell us what’s actually available! Loads have things had been sold out eg. No burgers, seabass, beef etc. Unfortunately that was the reason we’d came so decided just to have nachos and leave. There were 2 younger members of staff, and I found them both rude. One was listening to our conversation the whole time and actually decided to give us her input.. they were walking in and out the kitchen swearing at each other and everyone is the restaurant could here. It didn’t feel very professional of them to be walking around and moaning about other staff members whilst serving customers. There was also no music on, which is personal preference but it was quite awkwardly quiet and we could hear all the staff/chef conversations about previous jobs and personal chats. It also felt like the ladies were staring at us a lot, taking about wanting to close early. I understand the chef wanting to shut the kitchen, it would be quite embarrassing not being able to serve the meals you wanted to. So I have no issues with that, he sounded like a nice chap. I would like to visit again, as we’ve been told the food is amazing.. but hopefully we have a better evening.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordNice venue in quiet countryside, parking was easy although the disabled spaces are not marked very clearly with the symbols being very worn, also on a bit of an incline but nothing too major. We didn’t stay too long after finishing our meal, for me it was too noisy, and I don’t know why that was, there were other people in the restaurant but not overcrowded, the chairs not very comfortable and not much in the soft furnishings department but adequate. The food was good without being amazing, a little on the expensive side, but again not amazing so, would I go back, no but that’s because it was to noisy which does bother me. I’ve given each section a 3 from 5 rating, if I’d gone with a bigger crowd that might have changed the score, but not the place if you want a quite meal, nobody’s fault really. In the summer months an outside table might have been better for me. Mart
