Memories Bistro – TorquayExcellent Cuisine! Choose from the Menu or the Special Board. Cosy little pub with attractive beer Garden and, if you are a smoker, an excellent outdoor heated Smoking Area. Prices are also very competitive on both food and drinks. Highly Recommended.
Devon Dumpling – TorquayWe have eaten at this Bistro for many years, also been well catered for family occasions. Front of house Hazel is most helpful with advice on fish of the day and any specials. Wine list excellent and will not break the bank. Sense of humour in a relaxed setting. Chef husband Gordon prides himself on local produce and a good selection for choice. Decor interesting and a good talking point too.

Miahs Indian Restaurant – TorquayFantastic food, excellent service ! I’m dining all over Europe and this is one of the best I’ve ever visited.
Bianco’s Ristorante Italiano – TorquayHole in the Wall - loved the food, great for Seafood , good A La Carte food & price
Hole In The Wall – TorquayBrilliant, good food, pleasant atmosphere, very good value for money.
Oriental Touch – TorquayThis place is gorgeous, the decor is beautiful. When we first arrived we thought it was a little pricey, £10.95 for a chicken tikka massala and almost didn't go in but then we realised that that price included rice or naan which is a pretty average price for an indian. It was very quiet as we went on a Wednesday evening (we were on holiday) the staff service was ok but the food was gorgeous, i was eating my curry even though i wasn't hungry and knew id regret it later (which i did!) had a dessert (can't remember the name of it but it was like a sticky toffee pie) Typical indian restaurant desserts, all pre packed and straight out of the freezer! i am yet to visit an indian estaurant that actually makes their own desserts. It was far too sickly after my curry but this was my own fault, they could do with adding a dark choc minty pudding on there like a vianetta or trufito as my local indian serves! because you need somethng minty after such a big meal! overall would give it a 9/10
Bombay Express – TorquayI was seriously looking for the hidden cameras during my experience in this establishment because the host was so rude I thought I had stumbled into a reality tv or prank show. On arrival at 6pm the place had about six customers in total, and myself, partner, two five year olds, one 12 yr old and the grandparents sat outside to enjoy the river. Our drinks were massively overpriced, £7.20 for two glasses of wine, and the service frosty. The owner or host came outside and began to put down all the large parasols even though we were sheltering from the rain. We moved to inside which seats several hundred but was empty, and sat at a table by the window. The host then came over and made a fuss that one of our children was sat behind us drawing a picture. He was unceremoniously removed as the table was needed!?!? Our glasses were then hurriedly collected before we had finished, and we were starting to get the hint, but subtlety vanished altogether when a junior member of staff came and told us that our table would need to be vacated if a diner wanted it. Still, all around us was empty and we had spent a lot of money on drinks. Our children were sat quietly with us, drawing pictures. Before the hour was up we were literally hounded out of this practically empty pub, and my parents who are in their sixties had been looking at the menu and planning to stay for dinner, but changed their minds and went on elsewhere. There is a sign outside saying 'Welcome'.... what a joke! For all the fancy decor the staff and owner are simply rude. If tables are reserved for diners only then that should be made clear, but paying customers should not be treated like rubbish, no matter how pretty the view. My advice, go down the river to Shaldon where there are plenty of super friendly alternatives who will be pleased to see you.
Coombe Cellars Inn – TorquayA really enjoyable atmosphere and great great food. Crispy duck to die for! We will definitely returning when on holiday next. Great off street parking too.
Yum Sing Cantonese Restaurant – TorquayI went to the kents pub in wellswood last week. And has to be said the food and ales are fantastic. Great staff. I had the slow roast pork. Wow! loved it. Is now one of our places to visit weekly.
Kents The – TorquayAfter being recommended Hooks by a friend in Torquay, I decided to travel down from Exeter to see what all the fuss was about, and i must say the whole experience surprised me... on entry i was greeted by a lovely door host who seated me in one of the most charming parts of the restaurant, overlooking the open plan kitchen... however the fault lied in management. we ordered our food with a very snappy general manager, who acted like he was on something other than just a power trip... the kitchen didn't seem to undetstand what we had ordered (simply a starter as a main) and the general manager attempted to resolve their confusion by shouting at the kitchen staff across the restaurant, when my husband and i (as well as other customers) were trying to relax. our food was incorrect, perhaps because the gm didn't record our order correctly (due to lack of care or concentration) or perhaps because of the kitchen staff's confusion with the order. the food was in fact wholesome and beautiful - the chef did a fantastic job of cooking my steak (eventhough the incorrect size) to perfection! the door host cleared our plates as the general manager seemed to have been too busy swearing at his 'shipmates' over the kitchen - perhaps it was a private joke, however we could hear the taunts crude between them and found it highly unflattering to our evening. the host apologised to us and we asked for our bill the general manager brought us the bill and we asked to pay by card, he shoted at the host to bring him the machine - an unprofessional role for any manager to play. in conclusion, the food was beautiful, the service was brilliant, however the owners should rethink the management, as at most times it seemed like the gm was simply ordering people around and shouting obsenities, which intimidated my husband and i, as well as other near by customers
Hooks – Torquaythe best indian restaurant in torquay the staff cannot do enough for you! the food comes quickly and correctly! the food is gorgeous and not too oily! the restaurants location is perfect if you're going to/from town! the ambience is lovely - with the new fish tank in place, i haven't seen another indian like it! 10/10 everytime i've been...
Mahabharat Balti House – TorquayWe booked this restaurant on all the good reviews it has received, when we entered the restaurant the staff were very rude to us, then we ordered our food and what we ordered and what turned up i wouldn't feed to my dog, then as we were just about to get the bill the side orders turned up, we sent them back to the disgust of the waitress.....so if it's a special occasion stay well clear
Jingles – TorquayThis is a wonderful little Bistro. Difficult to book as is only open Friday and Saturday but well worth it when you do. Food is fresh, served by Hazel who with her husband as Chef runs the place and is wonderfully friendly with superb food. The speciality fish is always worth trying.
Memories Bistro – TorquayVery disappointing. our evening food tasted as if it was reheated from lunchtime. We wont be returning
Yum Sing Cantonese Restaurant – Torquaywhat a great restaurant. Food is fantastic and varied. Not just curry. Staff are friendly and helpful. The owner who is there most nights is a wonderful host. I recommend you try this place at least once...a week as I do!! Dont bother going to any other indian restaurant in Torquay you will be disappointed. The naan bread are to die for - I suggest you try the garlic and coriander....amazing.
Miahs Indian Restaurant – TorquayNot at all good. Cold food of very indifferent quality and decidedly poor value for money. Overall, it is a feeble pastiche of decent 'trendy' places that manage to get it right. I get the impression this pub is trying to elevate itself into the realms of being some kind of serious 'eatery'. It fails ... abysmally!
