Tanvi’s Indian Cuisine – WakefieldWe attended the Peacock yesterday with family, party of 8. It was nice to see the place open again. It wasn’t busy at all which initially we considered it to be a sign of the times. There were 4 sat in the cafe area, 2 playing pool and another couple having a drink, 2 bar staff and a cook, not a lot for a reasonably sized premises. We bought drinks which were competitive and to the like of the surrounding area. I ordered first for my wife and I and sat back chatting awaiting our food, it was along time in arriving but we hoped that being to its preparation and hopeful quality, my wife was served first along with 2 others from our group, I could see from my wife’s face that it wasn’t good. I waited and eventually asked one of the waitresses if mine was ready, she looked surprised and asked what I was having, they had no idea what had been ordered and who was awaiting food. My steak pie, chips, peas and gravy boat eventually arrived, I had asked for some ketchup which incidentally never arrived. Down to the food, the gravy was cool the pie was slightly over cooked as it had been reheated but fair, pre bought and re warmed. The advertised chunky chips were thin and slimy and hiding by the side of the pie, I had 8 in total. The peas were frozen garden peas, very nice but not difficult to warm through in a microwave. The young lady asked if everything was OK to which I proceeded to give some constructive criticism, which she more than obviously didn’t either want or was interested to hear, I told her the chips were poor to which she replied that she knew, the gravy was cold and I didn’t appreciate eating after my wife when we were together and we had ordered first, plus I never received any ketchup. We then moved onto pudding, my wife had a piece of bought brownie with cheap plain ice cream and I had apple crumble with a little boat of custard, the boat had all crusties up the side and on the handle, it needed a good wash. The crumble was very sweet but nice and the custard nice and thick, again obviously bought and warmed up. The waitress told us the issues related to only having one chef in the kitchen, well if one cook struggles to serve 10 people without giving both great service and quality then this business is doomed to fail, I wish I could be more positive but the staff just didn’t care which made the whole situation even worse, I would not recommend this place to anyone and would suggest you spend your hard earned money somewhere more deserving.
Peacock Hotel – WakefieldImmaculate restaurant. Great deco, very relaxing evening and most importantly top quality food. Superb service. Can't fault you guys. Thanks to Hasaan
Amaia Restaurant – WakefieldA very well presented and tasty meal. The staff were also very helpful..
Dimplewell Inn – WakefieldMenu at this restaurant please.
Lebardo Restaurant – WakefieldFantastic looking pub, new interior. Sadly let down by expensive food and drink. Also good beers served poorly by inexperienced young staff. A pint of Black Sheep costs £3.80 and 2 halves £4.00 Why?
The Three Houses Inn – WakefieldSince change of ownership price of beer immediately increased by up to 15, another Nevison perhaps ??
The Three Houses Inn – WakefieldWhat a dreadful place. The food is awful. Good points, a nice pint.
Black Bull – WakefieldGet 15% of food bill all evening Sunday to Thursday.
