Any trip to Whitby is not complete without a visit to the Magpie. The food is outstanding, the menu a delight. The staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.

We have been to Whitby many times over quite a number of years and was always amazed how people would queue outside. This year we decided to try the Magpie out. All the family really enjoyed our time. Great food and atmosphere even in these Covid times. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going again.

Sharing platter was just amazing!! More than enough for two people. Staff lovely and food service great and quick, despite how busy they were all of the time. Def worth the hype for sure!!!! The best meal we had by far in Whitby during our stay x

Fantastic atmosphere at this thriving eatery. Extensive quality wine list and an unbelievable choice of seafood. Superb food and attentive professional service. We cannot wait to return to try more of the delicious menu.

Fish is supremely fresh, well worth a visit if you have a fish preference.

The fish was beautiful and I had a great view outside from where I was sat. Staff were friendly and attentive. Plastic screens were useless and ugly and made the dining experience a little uncomfortable.

We had a superb meal, the food was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.

My Husband and Son ate here on 1st September. I last visited around 20 years ago. It was absolutely superb! The service was faultless. My husband had the Seafood pot to start and said it was the best he had ever had. I had the mussels which were beautiful. I wish we lived closer as would come back every week!

Had a really lovely meal at the magpie. The waitress was so nice I wish I knew her name. Super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was superb.

Another lovely meal and excellent service.My only moan is still no petticoat deceit cider,if you cant get it what about something nice like westons or aspalls not magners

The best meal we had in Whitby was here. I had the seafood pad Thai and my wife had the paella. Both were delicious with plenty of seafood cooked just right. We had a half carafe of chardonnay to accompany. Very friendly and efficient service and considering how busy they were we didn't have to wait overly long.

Had a lovely meal. My husband is a seafood junkie and loved the crab bisque followed by the hot seafood platter. Service was lovely, efficient and friendly without rushing us. COVID precautions, with screen dividers were a great precaution

Had a lovely meal here, best Scampi and fish we have ever had! Good service and friendly staff!
