We enjoyed our meal on our recent holiday. The menu was extensive and the service was friendly and efficient. The haddock and chips and cod and chips were excellent. Well cooked with lovely crispy batter and white flaky fish. We shall definitely go back on our next trip to Whitby

Fab meal as usual. Every time we come o Whitby, we stop by. Fabulous fish,cooked beautifully and presented well. We pre booked and was not hurried to finish the meal. Will be back:)

Fantastic service and fantastic food

Amazing food seated with an awesome view ..nice and cool after being out in the red hot weather ..service was brilliant only down side was a screaming child that kept kicking the heck out of the plastic tub highchair which wasn’t anything to do with the actual place but other customers

Lovely meal and service was so good. We booked so was seated on time and not rushed to move out even though clearly very busy.

My friend and I visited The Magpie on the last night of our holiday this week- I’d eaten there before several times and it had always been great. Sadly this time my meal was let down by the Magpie Medley. My friend’s meal arrived and was delicious, but I think mine had been kept under the warming lights as all of the fish was dry and overcooked. I was very disappointed but as my friend’s meal was good and the waitresses were lovely I didn’t want to make a fuss. I should have said something as the meal was to be the highlight of the holiday.

Fish and chips done very well. We had 2 small portions of cod and chips. The quality of the fish was excellent and the batter was very light and not greasy at all. if you want to sample good fish and chips in Whitby we would recommend a visit to The Magpie.

We enjoyed our meal ,service and cleanliness first class Fish was excellent but the chips were not quite up to their usual standard as a bit soft This did not affect our experience and will be back
