Magpie Cafe – WhitbyVisited for dinner with friends 5th July 2021. The service is excellent and the menu is vast. I had crab salad and Lobster Theridor which was beautiful and great value for money. Thoroughly recommend
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyLiving on past glory, the food was really basic as was the service. The fish looked really fresh and white but because it was cooked in fat that was too hot the fish ended up really dry, the batter was also undercooked inside so inedible.
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyThe magpie never disappoints. Amazing food amd lovely customer service The only down side is that fish and chips from anywhere else just doesn't live up to the magpie cafe . Can't wait for my next visit
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyHad a lovely meal of Fish and Chips all three of us really enjoyed our time at the Magpie Cafe the staff are professional and helpful ensuring we had a good time The Magpie Cafe is our favourite restaurant
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyNice environment, good food, friendly staff and well organised in view of Covid restrictions.
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyAfter watching James Martin on tv and him recommending The Magpie Cafe, we had to taste for ourselves. Booked a campsite then booked a table, travelled from Rochdale, shown to our table, by very friendly staff. The menu is amazing, from booking on line to ordering in the restaurant we changed our minds so many times. We ordered a starter each, smoked salmon and scallops with black pudding, absolute perfection!!! We had always said we would order fish and chips and scampi, but in the end I had the muscles in white wine and cream and my husband had Hake and king prawns in leek and cream sauce. The tables were all COVID friendly, our waitress was very cheerful and friendly, the decor and views were beautiful, we sat at a window table looking out into the harbour, wrought iron magpies with a backdrop of beautiful red flowers. We highly recommend the whole experience to anyone thinking of dining out in Whitby. Thankyou The Magpie Cafe for a truly wonderful all round experience Lucy and Phil Smith from Rochdale
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyAbsolutely fabulous lunch: efficient and friendly service; great food and terrific value. Just the best fish n chips - batter melts in the mouth.
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyThanks are due to the Magpie Cafe in Whitby for accommodating us earlier than scheduled yesterday afternoon. My wife and I enjoyed a first rate meal of cod, chips and mushy peas in the restaurant. The experience was very favourable in a convivial atmosphere and COVID safe. We shall return.
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyBest fish & chips in Whitby, and we’ve tried a few! Don’t forget to order curry sauce and save room for the jam roly poly.. Old school welcoming atmosphere and, more importantly, fantastic friendly service.
Magpie Cafe – Whitbyi enjoyed my meal staff where friendly service good food excellent would recommend
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyI have been coming regularly to The Magpie since 1975/6 and although it has developed from ‘fish & chips, bread and butter and a pot of tea’ it has kept up with the changing times with a varied menu and fabulous choice. It offers quality food not be beaten, the freshest of fish superbly prepared and cooked, with lovely, efficient, friendly and welcoming staff. Time after time quite simply faultless for food, service and value. Probably my favourite restaurant anywhere.

Magpie Cafe – WhitbyVery nice place, great atmosphere, good variety of food for reasonable price, staff is very friendly, highly recommended!
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyVisited the Magpie Cafe last week. We pre booked online which was very easy to do. We were greeted by an extremely friendly member of staff who showed us to our seats. The menu had so many lovely dishes it was hard to choose - suggest browsing the menu online before you visit. The waiting staff, although very busy, spent time chatting to us and made us feel extremely welcome. The food was a cut above your normal fish and chip shop cafe. The portions were very generous and seafood hot pot was perfectly cooked and full of flavour as was the monkfish off the specials board. Nothing was too much trouble and we received proper Yorkshire service and food throughout. We will definately be back.
Magpie Cafe – WhitbyBeen wanting to try here for a long while but never yet made it, however we managed to book a table and it didn't disappoint. Food was excellent and staff were polite and friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed and social distancing measures were good. obviously the emphasis is on sea food but there are adequate alternatives if someone in the group is not a sea food person. All in all a great experience and certainly one to be recommended, will definitely be booking again next time we are in Whitby.
