Excellent range of seafood on menu. Meal was very good but spoiled by the very cramped table layout. Just needed 10 % reduction of tables to improve dining experience greatly.

Unfortunately, due to heavy traffic congestion, we phoned to advise of lateness.The female who answered was far from helpful telling us we could not get a later slot and when we arrived, we could queue up or request a call back by them when a table was free. My mother, who was travelling with us, for her 88th birthday lunch was extremely upset.We ended up at The Pier who were much more accommodating and friendly.Customer service at Magpie could do with returning to charm school!

This is one of the best seafood I have ever eaten across several destinations in Europe! It is must eat if someone visits Whitby or around. Although, the Calamari fritters wasn't that great. Else, everything was mouth watering!

We have been coming to Whitby for 25 years and the Magpie is the highlight of our week. This time however, the food was not quite up to the normal high quality. The fish was over cooked in the fish pie and garden peas were hard.

Best meal we had in Whitby. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely fish and chips and tasty desserts. Many people had recommended the Magpie Cafe to me and now I know why. Excellent.

Another great experience. Audrey and Pamela yet again surpassed themselves as waitresses, hostesses and therapists. Always so consistent and always perfect food. Missed you’all so much, delighted you’re back and firing on all cylinders.

It’s been many years since our last visit so we were delighted on yesterday’s visit to find the quality and service have not changed in any way. Superb food, excellent and attentive service (where nothing was a bother) and all Covid secure to boot. Thank you Magpie Cafe team.... you are all Yorkshire gems

Been to the magpie numerous times over the years quality never varies always excellent. like the online booking.

The Magpie may look like any other seaside fish and chip cafe but in this case looks can be very deceiving. We both chose fish dishes from the specials board and what we received was restaurant quality food. It was excellent. However the couple on the next table order just fish and chips and this looked equally as good. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful even offering a taste of the house wine prior to ordering. All done in a completely Covid safe manner as well. Will be returning in the future for sure

Had the cod and chips and a salad. We shared the chips and salad. All tasted lovely. Not so keen on the homemade tartar sauce..
