The best steak we have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly and incredible sides.

We have been eating here for over 30 years, and have never had a bad meal. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful , and the food is second to none. The Magpie is by far our favourite restaurant. Can't wait till we come here again.

As usual,everything was spot on. It's been a long wait in lockdown, but we'll worth the wait.

Perfect dinner, served by the nicest staff ever. Audrey and Pamela are the absolute best. Professional, caring, attentive and so knowledgeable - what more could you ask for? We booked a table on the first evening after lockdown and felt completely safe. As usual, the food was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are amazing, friendly and professional. Lovely evening

We have been visiting the Magpie for many many years now. It is by far the best seafood restaurant in Whitby, offering dishes that the others just can’t compete with. I love the salmon and haddock gratin with Thermidor sauce, and travel the distance just for this! My partner always has the traditional fish and chips, but tries all the different starters they have to offer, each time we visit. I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant, service, staff, food, all excellent. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Absolutely superb as always, beautiful prawn cocktail followed by the best fish and chips anywhere (and I've tried lots). Not the cheapest but always value for money. The staff are lovely very friendly and can't do enough to help.

I celebrated my 50th Birthday at the Magpie with a lovely meal for two. I always dine at The Magpie when visiting Whitby as the service and food are always excellent. After walking the Cleveland Way from Robin Hoods Bay we were definitely ready for our fish and chips. I plumped for the Scampi and my companion the standard cod and chips. The portion sizes are very generous and sadly left us with no room for dessert!

We have been coming to The Magpie Cafe for some years now. Service and food is always excellent. Our recent visit during Covid times felt safe and the standards were just as high. Well done guys!

Lovely sanctuary from the rain and wind. Very attentive staff who looked after our every need. The food was amazing, delicious, beautifully cooked and presented and a good price.

Visiting for three days. As always the quality of the food and service is of a very hard standard. We have been coming to the magpie for years and the only downfall is the table size for two and three people it is very claustrophobic. You are jammed into a corner and have very little room to move to eat your food in comfort. This has nothing to do with the covid situation as table situation has been like this for years.
