Francos – Wiganthis is by far the best Indian in Wigan, would well recommend
Raj The – Wigani have visited the owls at standish several times and have always found it to be fabulous.. The food is great and it caters for most tastes and most pockets. The staff are friendly and the venue immaculate.
The Owls At Standish – WiganMy wife and I have been to the Buraq many, many times and have been impressed on each and every occasion. It scores highly in all areas: the owner, Mr Talib, and his staff set standards of friendliness and approachability which many restaurant owners would do well to follow; the reasonably priced food is never less than first rate and the restaurant itself is light, airy and well furnished. I have taken many friends, colleagues and clients there over the years and everyone one of them has been as impressed as I am.
Buraq – Wiganthey do a two course special for 5 pound, excellent value good honest food, took my mum for the xmas lunch. all 3 courses very very good, u cant go wrong with this place, warm friendly chatty. love going here
Bowling Green Inn – Wiganwe go to the wiggin tree twice a week, the food is brilliant, but the service is terrible, the staff are always stood around the bar talking instead of looking after customers, they seem to have a table near the bar were they all congregate. we put up with the bad service because the food is good but other people will not. There never seems to be a manager around. We have been going for 6months and have never seen a manager, there is always young staff on who don't care about the customer, there is only 1 member of staff who is good and that is the older lady with the glasses(she is very attentive) & looks after customers well, perhaps she should train the young ones in how to deal with customers as the management don't seem to be bothered.
Wiggin Tree – WiganParty of 5 adults and 1 infant This restaurant came highly recommended so we decided to have a Sunday lunch there (3/01/10). We arrived 13.00 with the car park more than half full. A good sign as the weather was still sub zero and had been for more than a week. There had been little attempt to clear the compact ice over the majority of the car park making it very slippery under foot. How the elderly or children would managed to gain access to the restaurant without falling was a miracle. There were two menus available with a good selection of meals catering for most people. We opted for the restaurant menu but the bar meals were very tempting. We chose the starters, breaded mushrooms and selected the traditional roast beef dinner and the braised beef for the main course. The meal served was a disappointment. The roast beef was tender and cooked to perfection but the portion size was small. The braised beef was a little more generous. The veg, carrots and cabbage were in a serving dish (cold). The roast potatoes were tasty and hot. I might be wrong but the small Yorkshire pudding was just like Aunt Bessie's (???). We ordered sweets from a selection of 6. They were satisfying The cost of 5 starters/ main course and 4 sweets was £48. Very reasonable but I'd rather pay more and enjoy my meal. 5/10 (1 point deducted for the lack of consideration clearing the ice from the car park)
The Owls At Standish – Wiganwe have been to cinnamon on many occasions as we live local.we has been slightly disappointed on our last few visits and regrettably re looking for new pastures.we have felt that the service has been lazidazy , having waiting 45 mins for our bill and asking 3 different staff, with no option in the end but to get up and go to the bar to pay.we visited the Sunday buffet to be disappointed at 2 starters and 3 currys , One mild , one med , one scorcher all meat. rice and mini nan ... we felt ripped off. popadoms were extra but we were not told. mr khan is lovely but i feel things have slipped somehow.
Cinnamon Indian Cuisine – WiganOur favourite pub/restaurant for several years. Love the old favourites: especially cod and chips and liver and bacon. Great range of other dishes and sweets. Nice choice of wines and beers. Friendly and efficient service. As usual a nice antidote to a rainy, grey day was a trip to the Rigbye Arms today. Pheasant and wild boar pie and chips...... nice....Tetley's cask .......nice......
Rigbye Arms Country Inn and Bistro – WiganWonderful food. Very varied and reasonably priced menu. Attentive service in pretty surroundings.
The Spice Lounge – WiganJust had a really good lunch at The Beacon at Dalton. It is a Pub downstairs and a restaurant upstairs. We have been a few times before and in both parts the food is superb. Before we looked at the menu, we asked if they did beef curry. They had chicken curry on the menu but they immediately said there was no problem at all in changing it so we both had beef curry. Afterwards I had pear poached in Campari garnished with a raspberry juice and clotted cream and my husband had Parkin Cake with Mrs Dowson's ice cream, both were very well presented, as was the curry which came with rice, poppadoms and mango chutney. The price was very reasonable and service was very good. 10/10
The Beacon – Wiganwell what can we say went to a gourmet nite, the chef is only a youngster but the food was fantastic, the best meal we have ever had. we eat out quite alot and the food and service was the best yet. my husband and me both choose different from the menu and both were delighted. even the pub grub is excellent worth trying mrs appleton
Bowling Green Inn – WiganMy family have been eating Indian food for a good 20 years now and we like to have a good family restaurant to depend upon when all the siblings come home to Lancashire. After reading Internet reviews we decided to try it out and loved it. I've spent a couple of months in Goa and love cooking my own Indian food but there were dishes here I didn't know about - I had chicken tikka naga massalla and learned about naga chillies from Mr Khan. It was a great night - we all shared a bit of each others dishes which were all varied and each one superb. When you drive out to restaurants you expect them to be fairly pricey - this was very good value, starter + main + drinks (and a little education on indian food) for less than £25 per head.
Cinnamon Indian Cuisine – WiganI have eaten in the restaurant and had many take aways from Buraq. I could never complain about the quality of the food. As I am a particularly fussy about quality of food I don't have Indian food from anywhere else. At Buraq the food is full of flavour and superb. I may return this Christmas with my young family.

Buraq – WiganI have visited the The Owls At Standish by invitation to 2 larger parties, on 2 occasions, it is lovely and clean, the food is excellent and hot, the surrounding area is beautiful, there is plenty of space in the restaurant, there's no rush, the staff are friendly and helpful, I have recently booked it again for 6 people in October The prices are very reasonable, and its certainly the sort of eating out venue to put top of your list, I certainly will. There is a very good selection on the menu for all requirements. The management is very well organised and accurate.
The Owls At Standish – Wiganoh my god fantastic takeaway, best Indian in leigh never late with deliveries, always hot very good
Chilli (Leigh) – Wiganhi can honestly say me and my husband went on the 26th june 09, was totally disappointed, apart from not much choice on the 2 course menu we was sat on top of the next table. wasn't the only ones who thought so cheap thats about all. wouldnt go again.
