Brown Horse Inn – WindermereVilla Positano is tucked away down a side street in Bowness. The food and quality is excellent and the service is very efficient. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet and romantic. We visit every time we're in Windermere, booking highly recommended.
Villa Positano – WindermereVEGANS & VEGETARIANS BEWARE !!! When ordering our vegetarian order we found out THAT ALL THEIR FRIED FOOD WAS COOKED IN THE SAME OIL AS THE FISH and as was we pointed out to the seemingly uninterested manager and fuming manager that this is not written on the menu to warn all vegans and vegetarians that their chips, sweet potato fries or anything that needed to be fried were in fact not the real real deal The manager was rude and clearly couldn't be bothered and in fact was so rude that he tried desperately to make us feel uncomfortable after complaining which didn't succeed as we just laughed because he reminded us so much of Basil Fawlty from Fawlty towers, but that aside this is a very serious matter indeed and needs to be addressed URGENTLY!!!!!
The Westmorland Inn – WindermereWe visited the Lake District to celebrate our first wedding anniversary this past weekend. My wife and I are both fans of afternoon tea so we were overjoyed to find this treat only a few minutes walk from our hotel. The owner was pleasant, very friendly and the afternoon tea itself was delicious! We felt very relaxed and not rushed in the slightest. Would definitely return again :)
Cedar Manor – WindermereHello, We were visiting the Lake District last week and staying in Ambleside. We like afternoon tea and became aware of Cedar Manor. We booked and experienced the most wonderful afternoon. The service was excellent, the surroundings spectacular and the tea with a special glass of Prosecco was out of this world. This really made a special interlude in our short stay. The Lake district is special and Cedar manor compliments it. Thank you
Cedar Manor – WindermereMy wife and I enjoyed the afternoon tea at Cedar Manor. The whole experience was brilliant! The setting was beautiful. The service from Jonathan was amazing - really nice guy, enjoyed chatting to him. The savoury starters were all extremely tasty. And then the tiered platter with the cakes and various patisseries was incredible. Gotta say, the stars of the show were the buttermilk scones. Probably the best scones I've ever had. They also offered a great range of teas and coffee, which complemented all the food wonderfully. Can't fault it! Will be returning as soon as we're back in the Lakes.
Cedar Manor – WindermereWhilst staying in Windermere we booked to have the afternoon tea. On arrival we were met by the charming owner Jonathan and given the opportunity to take tea outside on the patio. He then attended to our requirements for the whole of the experience. Delicious sandwiches and cakes with fresh cooked scones and homemade jam. Plentiful supply of tea of choice. Unhurried and very relaxed afternoon. Would highly recommend a visit. A perfect choice for afternoon tea.
Cedar Manor – WindermereWhat a fabulous afternoon tea! Cedar Manor go the extra mile to make their afternoon tea special. They started with a small soup topped with spiced oil and this was followed by a small prawn cocktail. Then we were served with fresh sandwiches- the smoked salmon and lemon butter was delicious. Then came the stand of freshly made cakes and scones. My favourite was the mini lemon meringue which was so light and tangy. Homemade jam was delightfully flavoursome. The service was exceptional and the quality of everything too class.
Cedar Manor – WindermereAbsolutely lovely
