This place looks fantastic since the refurb! Very funky and slick for the Lakes.

This place looks fantastic since the refurb! Very funky and slick for the Lakes.
Swan Hotel – WindermereWe called without a reservation and the staff were very accommodating despite being very busy. The meal was exceptional and was worth every penny. The best meal both myself and I have had in years. The best thing I can say about this restaurant is that we will shortly be driving from Glasgow especially for another fabulous meal.
Rastellis Pizzeria – WindermereSet in an outstanding location overlooking Lake Windermere, Holbeck Ghyll is the quintessential Country House Hotel. The food is of exceptional quality and presentation although 'hearty eaters' had best look elsewhere. More the place for Ladies who Lunch or a romantic dinner. Lunch is a set price with a limited choice, but a must for 'foodies' Good wine list.
Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel – WindermereWe visited francines for the first time last May and was very impressed. When we returned to the lakes again at February half term we knew we had to go again but this time we wanted to go in the evening. We were certainly not disappointed. The food was superb extremely well presented and totally faultless, needless to say we went back for lunch two days later again tremendous, oh and we took back home to Bolton two massive pieces of carrot cake. We certainly wont hesitate to make the hours journey when we go out for lunch or dinner its well worth the ride. A must for all food lovers.
Francine’s Restaurant and Coffee House – WindermereAbsolutely loved it! Will be going again. Everyone for so friendly, we were so well looked after. Food was amazing. Decided to eat here the first night in Bowness - it was so delicious, we booked in for the next night, too!
Jintana Thai – WindermereWe stayed in the hotel and had a meal aswell. The owner/chef Sarah cooked my wife and I a fantastic meal each night we stayed. It was fantastic value at £21 for four courses too. We are coming back to stay after Easter and are very much looking forward to it. The hotel rooms were great value and very comfortable and clean as well. Highly recommend!!
Woodlands Hotel – WindermereA very homely welcome
The Elleray – WindermereThe Broadoaks Hotel and Restaurant has the personal touch of the owners, who put their heart and soul into the place and are undoubtedly very passionate about it. The rooms, each one a masterpiece, the breakfasts, yummy and the attention to detail is immaculate. Thanks to Clive @Sugarvine, I could shortlist a few classy small places to stay at during Xmas and his vast personal knowledge of the area makes all the difference. Thanks for all the help.
Broadoaks Country House Hotel – WindermereWell worth every penny spent in this restaurant. Class Act!
Gilpin Hotel and Lake House – WindermereExcellent food and service. Had a lovely meal.
Brown Horse Inn – WindermereI found the service and food fantastic. We had time at the bar and was not rushed to our seats. Fantastic location and food is lovely.
Brown Horse Inn – WindermereI used to work here in the summer of '85 and loved every minute of it. Raymondo & Virginia were a pleasure to work for!! The head chef Pino was a quality operator who could cook to a high standard. Great menu with plenty of choices of meat & fish, pizzas to die for and traditional pasta in abundance. Bravo!!
Rastellis Pizzeria – WindermereWe went to a wonderful wedding here last weekend. The hotel is perched on the waters edge of Windermere. The period decor and furniture match the elegance of the building. The cuisine has won rosettes and my room has awesome views of the lake.
Storrs Hall Hotel – WindermereOur party enjoyed a first class evening at Gilpin Lodge. The food was as you would expect from a Michelin starred venue. Service was very professional and knowledgeable. Finally we loved the venue with its different dining rooms and upmarket feel. Highly recommended!
Gilpin Hotel and Lake House – WindermereThis restaurant was recommended to us by one of the locals so we thought we would give it a try. It's got a cosy friendly Italian atmosphere. They cook your food to your own liking if you request it slightly different. It was excellent. Only small and very busy even though it was mid November when we went. Advise making a reservation or go early.
Villa Positano – WindermereFabulous food. The service was excellent and I would certainly recommend it to anyone. It made our trip to The Lakes special.
Postilion Restaurant – WindermereWe went for dinner here and have to say it was fabulous ... really, really friendly and although I am trying to lose some weight for my daughter's forthcoming wedding I just could not resist one of there puddings ... to die for !!!!
Francine’s Restaurant and Coffee House – WindermereAn excellent lunch(and a delightful stay) marred by the fact that we were the only guests here. With the staff out-numbering you by at least 5/1 it makes for an eerie time. Fair play though, the food was top drawer and the views stunning.
